CHAPTER 9:LIFE THREATS

2041 Words
After two whole weeks of continuous stress, Rosie finally got to have her normal, peaceful life. She slept like a log that night. The next day, she woke up to the scent of coffee filling her room. She opened her eyes to see Draco's bright face smiling at her. "Hey, beautiful. Had a good night's sleep?" he asked. "Yes," she replied. "Okay, get a shower. I'll wait downstairs," "Okay," "Can I join you though?" "Strictly no," "Please," "Uh-uh," Rosie shook her head.           Rosie went to the shower as Draco stepped out of the room. She wore a jeans and crop top. She went to have breakfast with her friends. "I went to our locker to see if anything was left behind yesterday," Alice told her. "And dude, your locker was and our post box was full of letters. I kept it all on your study table," "Oh, thanks Alice. I haven't opened my locker and the post box these two weeks," she replied and went to her study room after breakfast. She saw a pile of letters on the table.         Rosie sat at the table and read all the letters one by one. Most of it was from work. She read it all and got a little confused when she came across a few envelopes which was red in color with a devil emoji on them. When she was about to open it, Draco came in and leaned against her. He then dragged her to the corner of the room. He pressed her against the wall and leaned closer. He held her waist and trace his fingers against it.      Alice burst into the room, "Rosie, you have another letter!" Rosie took the envelope from her. It was the same dark red and had the same devil emoji as the other envelopes she found. Draco left the room and Rosie asked Alice to stay. She showed her the envelopes. The girls opened the envelopes one by one. The contents of the letter were shocking and they were all anonymous. The first one said: To Rosie, You're such a fool, stealing other's boyfriends. You're such a guy stealer.                                                 Yours,                                                    The next one was more shocking: To Rosie, Stay away from Draco or you'll regret it. He was mine and has always been mine. He will always stay mine forever. You're a fool to be with him.                                                      Yours,                                                                 Alice and Rosie looked at each other puzzled. They first thought it was a sick joke and ignored it. Rosie worked from home and did her homework with Alice. Draco was also there with Asher. They had been doing their work all day. Rosie recorded a few things in her spreadsheet before putting the laptop down and went to get some drinks. When she took the glass and turned, she saw a red envelope near the open window. She saw the same devil emoji on top of it and called Alice.       The girls opened it and before they could read it, Draco came into the kitchen. Alice took the letter from Rosie's hand and walked out of that place leaving her friend alone with her boyfriend. She hid the letter and went to Asher. Draco came closer to Rosie, pinning her to the wall. He leaned and whispered in her ear, "What's wrong?" He had a sad and concerned expression on his face. "Nothing," "Why don't you tell me? Are you hiding something?" "I won't hide anything from you and I'm totally fine, dear," "If you say so," He kissed her forehead and was about to leave when she held his hand. "You trust me right?" "Of course, Rosie,"        That evening after dinner, Rosie was washing the dishes when she heard a loud crash. Alice came running down to see what was it. The girls went out and saw glasses shattered around the front yard with blood on it. Rosie went to take a closer look when suddenly an arrow passed by. She fell back and Alice ran to her. When she turned she saw another red envelope. She opened and read it: To Rosie, I told you so. This is just the beginning, Rosie. Stay the hell away from Draco or you'll be sad for the rest of your life. Don't get hurt by ignoring this note.                                                     Yours,                                                               The girls looked at each other. Rosie got a little scared but Alice calmed her down. They went inside after cleaning their front yard. That night, the girls couldn't sleep well, afraid of what might happen next. The next morning, they went to classes as usual. Rosie tried her best to avoid Draco, telling him different reasons every time to stay away from him.            Draco got suspicious and dragged Rosie to an empty classroom during the break. He pinned her tight to the wall. "Are you avoiding me?" he asked her. "No, Draco," she replied, trying her best to act casual. "You're hiding something, Rosie. I know that" he said, looking sad and hurt. He then stepped away from her about to leave the classroom. She held his wrist and kissed his forehead, "Remember that, I'll always love you no matter what,"        Rosie then left the classroom and went to her locker where Alice was waiting for her, leaving Draco dumbfounded. She told Alice what happened and opened her locker, to see another red envelope. Alice took it and read it: To Rosie, I told you to stay away from Draco but you just kissed him on the forehead in the empty classroom. I don't want to break your heart now as you have only one and I want to save it for later but I can break Draco's bones. I don't want to hurt my Draco but you are making me to. He is about to cross the road in front of the parking lot. Go and save him if you can but don't you dare go near him or touch him.                                                   Yours,                                                                      Rosie and Alice ran to the parking lot as fast as they could. When they reached, they saw Draco about to cross the road. When he was in the middle of the road, a car drove past him at the speed of lightning, aiming to hit him. Rosie gasped in shock. She saw Draco trying to stand up on the other side of the road. She felt relieved knowing he was safe and wanted to go near him but stayed in her place. Tears rolled down her cheeks without her realizing it.        That night, she kept crying and ignored Draco's texts and calls. She didn't want to hurt him. Alice stayed with her calming her down and supporting her. Rosie couldn't hurt him in any way. She felt guilty about hurting his feelings. She looked at the messages he sent: Draco: Hey, babe. Draco: How are you? Draco: Are you okay? Draco: Hey, you there? Draco: Rosie? Draco: Why aren't you replying? Draco: You ate not taking my calls either. Draco: What's wrong? Draco: Where are you? Draco: Rosie? Draco: Babe?     Two days passed since Rosie last spoke to Draco. He tried texting and calling but she tried to ignore all those. He even came to her house that weekend begging her to let him know what was happening and why she was avoiding him but she just asked him to stay away from her in a cold voice. She couldn't sleep peacefully knowing that she had hurt the feelings of a person who supported her, who stayed with her, and who cared for her all this while.          That Monday, Draco didn't try to talk to Rosie. He was hanging out with his friends and did everything as usual except talking to her. They did come across each other several times but just went in different ways. They both admired each other from far. Seeing their partner happy made them happy but deep down they knew that they were both not happy and they are just faking it.      Rosie hadn't received any notes from the anonymous sender since. She saw Julie and her friends clinging to Draco which made her a little insecure and jealous but she didn't want to put Draco's life in danger by going up to them and asking them to get off him and making him talk to her. By seeing all that's happening, Alice and Rosie doubted that the anonymous sender was Julie or anyone from the night at Riley's party. Shivers ran down Rosie's spine as the thought of their glares before getting arrested crossed her mind.       Rosie stood on the balcony looking at the stars that were shining bright in the sky. She suddenly remembered that one time she was with Draco in that same place. He was hugging her from the back, his chin on her shoulder, talking about the constellations. ---A few days back--- "The stars are beautiful isn't it?" "Do you know what else is more beautiful than the stars?" "What?" she raised an eyebrow. "These emerald green eyes, this cherry lips, this cute smile..." he pulled her closer to him. "Do you remember the poem you wrote?" "Which one?" "Sweet love?" "Yes," "It just says with this moment right? It is my favorite poem," "Mine too," "Promise me," "What?' "That this will always be our sweet little love," "Of course it is," she punched him lightly. "You look cute when you blush," "I'm not blushing," "Yes, you are," "Nope," "A hundred and one percent yes!" he said hugging her tightly. "I love you, Rosie," "I love you more than that,"      Rosie smiled to herself, eyes tearing up as she remembered everything. Alice saw her friend standing all alone and came to talk to her. "Remembered about Draco?" she asked her. "Maybe," Rosie answered wiping away her tears. "Look, Rosie. I know it hurts but you're doing this for the sake of his life," "Yes, it hurts but his life is more important," "Just keep this thought aside and focus on your studies?" "How can I?" "You can do that. You ignored Draco these three days. Just try," "If you say so," "Just think that he is happy and safe without you,"         Rosie said goodnight to Alice and went to her room. She scrolled through her i********:. She saw a picture of Draco having fun with his friends at a club. She kept her phone down and laid it down. She saw the pictures on her nightstand next to her bed. One was of her with her family, the other was of her with Alice and the third picture was of her with Draco. She took the ring that was beside the picture. "Strong bond, huh?" she thought to herself. "I just hope you are well and safe there, Draco. I'm sorry I broke your heart and trust. I had to do it to save your life. I really care about you. I don't know who the anonymous sender is but if staying away from you means you would be safe, then, I will stay away. I know I'm not only breaking my heart but yours too. Please, forgive me. You meant the world to me. Please, don't hate me. I love you and really miss you. I hope I can be with you soon," She cried herself to sleep.          Meanwhile, Draco was thinking about her. "What's happening, Rosie? Why are you staying away from me? Why are you avoiding me? I hate seeing you like this. What are you hiding from me? You seem to be happy but you're not. I know about you, Rosie. You're not breaking my heart in any way because I know there is something behind all this and staying away from me meant something big for you and you're only staying away and hadn't broken up with me. I know whatever decision you take about me is for my well-being and nothing else. You've always cared about me more than yourself, Rosie. You always do. I love you a lot and I really miss every single thing about you. I hope whatever's happening will be over soon. Please, come back to me. Please come back as my Rosie. The Rosie I loved. The Rosie that owned my heart. I beg you, please, come back," He cried.
