CHAPTER 10:THE NEW TRAINEE

"Hey, they are here already. Can I call them in?" George asked.

Two years passed by quickly. Rosie and Alice had graduated from the university with great honor and got their dream jobs as a doctor and a pharmacist. Rosie still worked at the Hearts' company as the CEO and Alice was her personal adviser. Her business extended worldwide and they both earned a lot working two jobs, both in higher positions. Rosie was the head doctor whereas Alice was the head pharmacist.

"Ya, sure. I'm ready," Rosie replied putting on the ring she and Draco had exchanged on her birthday as a gift and the symbol of their love and the start of their relationship as a couple two years ago. She hadn't forgotten him and still stayed single hoping she will be back with him soon. She hadn't heard anything from him since she stopped talking to him because of the threatening letters from an anonymous sender.

George called the doctors in. They had a small meeting with Rosie. Since she became the head doctor, there weren't any problems in the hospital. All her patients and staff loved her especially small children. After everyone left, Alice burst in nearly giving her bestie who was also her unblooded sister a heart attack.

"Damn, Alice. Are you planning to kill me soon?"

"I'm sorry. Guess what, Asher said he has a surprise for me!"

"Isn't that what he does every week?"

"Yes, but he said this was special,"

"Woah!"

"I guess he is going to propose,"

"All the best. Get married soon if he proposed,"

"I have to wear something beautiful,"

"Shopping?"

"Okay,"

After work, the girls went to the boutique near their workplace. Alice tried on each and every dress that was there until Rosie helped her to choose the right one. It was a long tight dress with puffed sleeves. They went home and that evening, Asher came to pick her up. Before going, Alice stopped by her best friend's room and saw her looking at the photos that hung on the wall. It was all of Rosie's best moments with her family, friends, with Draco. "Hey,"

"Oh, Alice.Sorry I didn't see you coming,"

"Are you crying?"

"Nope,"

"Come on, Rosie. Don't lie to me,"

"You should go. Asher will be waiting,"

"Still thinking about Draco?"

"No,"

"Rosie, it's been two years,"

"I know. Now, go for your date,"

"You'll be okay, right?"

"Yes,"

"Bye, sista. Take care,"

"Bye, Alice,"

After Alice left, Rosie sat down at her table and started doing her work. She then fell asleep. She felt someone carrying her, bridal style, and laying her down on the bed. She felt something brushing on her forehead and opened her eyes to see Draco leaning over her. "Oh my god! Draco," she hugged him. "That's right. It's me. I'm back," he kissed her on the forehead. Then, someone hit her head from behind and she passed out.

She woke up, startled. It was all a dream. She kept having nightmares and dreams about Draco but he was not at her side like before to hug her and calm her down, telling her everything was fine. This made her sad. She changed into her pajamas and slept. A few hours later, Alice came back home and saw Rosie sleeping. She went to her, covered her with a blanket and stroke her hair, whispering everything will be okay, and went back to her room.

Rosie woke up screaming for her mum. Alice ran into the room and hugged her. She told her it was just a nightmare and everything is okay. Alice slept in Rosie's room that night. The next morning, the girls went to work as usual. Alice told Rosie about the night before.

"He proposed! We're getting married this August,"

"That's two months away,"

"You're my bridesmaid,"

"Cool,"

They talked about the wedding, making plans and all. The girls went to their own offices. George greeted Rosie with a huge smile. She told him about Alice's marriage. Then, she went to see all her patients. As soon as she stepped into the children's ward, all of them came running to her. She stayed with them for a little while before checking on her other patients.

After work, Rosie was at home doing some work on her laptop when Alice came and told her they were going to a party. She forced her to get ready and they were soon in front of the club. "It's time for you to find someone," Alice said. "What?!" Rosie asked shocked. Alice explained that she deserved to enjoy her life and she needs to get a guy.

"What do you think about George?"

"George Augustus? He is just a friend,"

"Do you like him?"

"He's kind, sweet, helpful but I don't like him in that way,"

"Why?"

"I just can't. I don't feel like it,"

"But you need to find a guy,"

"I just told you I don't wanna hook up,"

"Okay, okay. Calm down,"

"For the last time, I still love Draco,"

"Guess what the old man said was true,"

"The man, years ago?"

"Yes,"

"Hope so,"

"At least spend some time outside,"

"Okay,"

"Now, let's PARTY!"

     The girls went in and started enjoying themselves. They came home late at night and Rosie went to take a hot bath. She then put on her pajamas and slept. The next morning, she woke up a little late than usual. It was her day off and she sat on the couch, drinking coffee while reading a novel. She then checked her laptop to see if there are any new emails or reminders.

      As she was seeing through everything, a reminder popped up. 'Interview with newbies at 10:00'

She looked at the clock. It was 8:30 a.m.She went to get ready. Alice was already up by that time. They had breakfast and were at the office at 9:45 a.m.They saw students and a lot of people from different age groups standing there. She greeted everyone and went into her office. Mr.Matthew greeted her and the interview started.

      Some wanted part-time jobs and some were there for full-time jobs. Rosie gathered all their information. She selected some whom she thought were good enough and told them that she will look at their job for one week before hiring them. The ones she thought weren't qualified enough were politely rejected. She politely explained her action. Her politeness and kindness is the reason everyone liked her. She has a good heart. The interview ended and Rosie selected some of her trusted employees to be in charge of all the newly joined.

      Rosie went back home tired that evening. She ordered some food and waited for the delivery guy. She was just too tired to cook. Her food arrived and she placed it on the table before going to bath. She was in there for ten whole minutes. She put on a pair of sweatpants and went to have her hot dinner. Alice was out with Asher that night. She called and asked Rosie how she was at home.

"Are you okay staying alone?"

"Of course, Alice. It's fine,"

"Yeah. Enjoy your date!"

"Have you eaten?"

"Yes,"

"Promise?"

"Ya,"

"I'm sorry for leaving you alone,"

"It's okay,"

"I'll hang up now,"

"Okay, bye. Enjoy your day,"

"Bye. I love you. Take care,"

"Love you too, Sista,"

         It was Thursday and Rosie was busy at the hospital for the whole day. She also had a new guy joining work so she had to gather his information. Neither did she know fate has something for her. She walked to her office after checking on her patients. On her way there, she saw a guy holding a file in his hand who seemed lost. He had blonde hair and a muscular body. He was also quite tall. Rosie went up to him to help as she usually did for others. She was thinking if he was the new trainee. He looked oddly familiar.

"Stan?" she asked, literally shocked.

"Rosie?"

"How are you? It's been long,"

"I'm fine. How are you?"

"Kind of fine.H-How's Draco?"

"Oh, he's fine. You guys broke up?"

"Uh-n-no...We neither broke up nor we're together,"

"What does that suppose to mean?"

"I distanced myself from your brother,"

"Why?"

"It's a long story. So, why are you here?"

"I recently joined and I had to meet the head doctor,"

"Oh, so you got lost finding her office,"

"Yes,"

"Let's have some coffee and talk,"

"Maybe later. I need to go now. I'm already late,"

"Nope. You saw her on time,"

"What?"

"I'm the head doctor,"

"You? But they said her name was---"

"Hi, Ms.Hearts," a nurse who passed by greeted her.

"You're Ms.Hearts?"

"Yup.Rosie Hearts. Now, let's get back to work,"

"Rosie! Help needed," Alice came running. "Oh. Hey, Stan," she handshake with him before turning back to Rosie. "Where did you put the files?"

"On your table a few minutes back,"

"Okay, thank you,"

     Rosie entered her office with Stan. He was shocked to see how neat it was just like her house. He sat on the chair in front of her. He saw a photo frame on her table. It was a collage with a lot of pictures and had the words 'MY LIFELINES, MY SOUL AND HEART' written in the middle. There were pictures of her family members and her friends. Two pictures caught his eyes which he never thought will be there, the pictures he never expected to be with Rosie and it was the same pictures his brother has on his nightstand. One picture was of her, Draco, Alice, and Asher during their trip and the other was of her and Draco with a heart with arrow emoji beside it.

"So, why did you stay away from Draco?"

"To make sure he was safe,"

"What?!"

"I had to do it,"

"What are you telling?"

"I just didn't want to be the reason for your brother's death,"

"Okay,"

"It's a complicated story, Stan. I'll tell you when the time comes,"

"So, you're still single?"

"Yes,"

"Why?"

"I just didn't feel like dating. Not anyone after your brother,"

       She then proceeded to check Stan's qualifications and called for George. She introduced him as her assistant and Stan's trainer.

"I'll see how you're doing for a week before you're fully qualified enough,"

"See you soon, Rosie,"

"Good luck, Stan. Remember your promise,"

"Sure.Bye,"

"Take care of him, George. You too, be careful with him Stan. You guys are like two rebels pairing up to destroy,"

"Aye, Aye, Captain," the boys chorused.

"You guys are ridiculous," she smiled and rolled her eyes.
