Chapter 7
Lowell got dressed in no time. He had put on his black suit, which he had not worn in a very long time. He knew he had to. He was willing to do anything to get Marceline out of the hell hole.
‘’Lowell, we have to leave!!’’. His mother screamed from downstairs, finally alerting Lowell, who had been lying by himself on the bed and immediately got up from his bed and forced himself out of the room.
As he descended the stairs, Lowell caught sight of his mother and father. They looked expensively dressed, more specifically to his mother who had pearls and diamonds packed all over her body. It made her look tacky as hell, but he kept that to himself. Lowell loved his mother, but her actions had made the young man question if his mother was truly worthy of even being loved sometimes.
‘’My Son!!!’’, Alicia said as she rushed over to the young man’s side at the foot of the stairs. She immediately began gushing about how handsome he was and how suitable he was for only the upper-class ladies, in her words, ‘The most suitable bachelor in all of Olrod’’.
‘’Enough with the chit chat Alicia, we have a dinner to attend. We do not want to be late’’. Leonard, Lowell’s father saw the need to intervene as he noticed his son’s uneasiness. He pulled his wife away from the poor boy.
‘’Okay Okay, let’s go, you are right. We do not want to be late. ‘’ Alicia agreed with her husband, while Lowell and his father exchanged looks as they found their way out of the manor. A carriage awaited them on the outside. They entered, Alicia first, assisted by her husband, then Lowell, and finally the head of the family, who ordered instructions to the driver.
‘’ To the Triante mansion’’. He said as he settled down in the carriage.
‘’I can’t believe you’re doing this to me’’. Lowell said, looking directly at his mom. Alicia smiled brightly in return.
‘’The things we do for love’’. She said as she rested her head on her husband, all while maintaining her sinister smile.
Lowell looked away. He remained silent all through the ride and maintained his cool posture. He knew who he was doing it for and that was all that mattered.
The family arrived at the Triante mansion shortly after. They were greeted by the steward who introduced them to the Triante family standing not too far ahead.
The Trainte family was a wealthy family of five. The head of the family, Sergio Triante, was a member of the human council that reported directly to the supreme alpha, thus he had accumulated a vast fortune and established trust with the king. The wolves despised him as they felt he was getting too close to the king and could lead a coup, but that did not mean the humans liked him either. They hated the tyrant he was and his greed for more power. In general, the whole Triante family was hated and for good reason, They were one of the harshest human masters a slave could work under.
Amelia Triante was a good contrast to her husband. The 5’6 woman was a mixed blood. She was the daughter of a human and a wolf. Though she wasn’t a wolf herself, her bloodline to wolves had solidified her good presence and likeness from the wolves. It was forbidden for a wolf to marry a human, but Amelia’s father had somehow forfeited that. It was a beautiful tale that has been written in different texts about how a werewolf and a human fell in love. The humans hated the fact that it was celebrated, but Amelia Triante was a huge benefactor in the craze.
Amelia Triante was a beautiful woman. She had long wavy blonde hair, sky-blue eyes and a pageant-worthy smile. Her beauty was the sole reason why her kids, Cindy, Juliana, and Rava were so beautiful. Cindy was a 22-year-old lady who inherited all her mother’s features, blonde hair, blue eyes and a soft-spoken nature. For Juliana, she was her father if he were a woman with brown hair, brown eyes and a height of 6 feet. For Rava, he was his mother if she was a man. Blonde hair, blue eyes and a height of 6 feet. They were all breathtakingly beautiful and were sure to draw attention wherever they went.
‘’Welcome to my home, Leonard’’. Sergio greeted him with a pat on the back, like the old acquaintances that they were.
‘’Me too, I am already looking forward to dinner’’. Leonard said smiling.
‘’Madame Alicia I am so happy you are here, I am really happy about the little gift’’. Amelia said as she pulled the woman to a hug, THEY PULLED AWAY AND GREETED EACH OTHER WITH A Kiss on the cheek.
‘’I am more happy you enjoy the gift’’. Alicia said with a dark chuckle.
‘’How about we let them discuss with each other while we go to the dining room where the gift is’’, Amelia held Alicia’s hand and turned to her kids, ‘’Juliana, Rava, do give your sister sometime to chat with her groom’’. Amelia said as she and Alicia followed their husbands into the mansion.
Juliana and Rava gave each other looks as they proceeded into the mansion as well. Cindy took the opportunity to walk up to a disinterested Lowell.
‘’It’s been a long time, Lowell, we do have a lot of catching up to do’’. Cindy said, smiling, but Lowell remained unfazed.
‘’We broke up three years ago Cindy, please get over it’’. Lowell said as he tried to walk inside, but Cindy pulled him at his hand.
‘’Do not be so quick to dismiss me Lowell, I want you and it doesn’t matter how you feel about it, because after today you are practically mine’’.Cindy said, chuckling darkly.
This time Lowell pulled at her hand, ‘’What do you mean after today Cynthia!!!?’’. Lowell asked, with his temper rising.
‘’You should go see for yourself’’. Cindy said, smirking.
Lowell threw her hands away as he dashed through the walls. He took the necessary turns as he was familiar with the building. From his stance he could hear the faint chuckles and the sound of familiar cries. The closer he got, the more prominent the sounds were, Lowell added more speed as he sighted the dinning doors, He immediately walked through them as he came upon the worst sight of his life.
‘’Marceline!!!’’. Lowell screamed, while her faint voice replied, ‘’lowell’’.
Lowell backed away and, at that moment, all he saw was red.
