Chapter 2 Proud

1331 Words
Lucas followed Diana's car going to school. He did not have a driver because he wanted to drive by himself wherever he wants to go but he is aware that a group of civilian clothe bodyguards are around him as well as Diana anywhere they go. A car was ahead of Diana with two bodyguards and behind Lucas' car is another car with two more bodyguards. Inside the school, there are also a few more eyes watching over these twins. Some of the school's utility men and teachers are actually part of their security. It was not that something had happened before that their arrangements were like this, but it was because they wanted to avoid any possible problems involving the safety of the heirs of Miller's and Richards' families. The owner of the school is Denny Miller's childhood friend that the old Miller personally came to the school to donate an admirable amount of money to assist the school in whatever they may need just to ask for a favor that his grandkids be fairly attended. He clearly stated that if they ever do anything against the rules and anything punishable, he will not interfere, he said he is also after the good and the best education his grandkids can ever get. He also demanded his donation to be kept anonymous, he did not want people to look at his grandkids with good or bad impressions because of the help he genuinely wanted to extend for such impressive educational establishments. The school provided scholarship programs for students, one of the reasons he admired and appreciated it, his very own granddaughter Diane was able to get her educations throughout her youth with the help of such programs and so he wanted to honor and express his wholehearted gratefulness through assisting these programs to be able to continue their good goals and aspirations.  Lucas arrived at the parking lot, parked his car a few cars far from where Diana's car was parked. They do not have the same classes and classrooms because this school had their students divided according to their gender. Although they can socialize in between, before or after classes, they have their lecture rooms separately. So, only those who are actually close to the twins knew that they are siblings. The bodyguard/driver was a woman so she can enter the girls' building. She can go anywhere around the school except for the boys' building. The gym, the cafeteria, the lounge, the library, and everything else is a common area, except for the lecture buildings. The school explained during their orientation that for their ages which adolescence starts, any vision and interactions with the opposite s*x will be a distraction for their studies, so during lecture times, no girls are going to be seen at the boys' building and likewise no boys will be seen at the girls' building. Parents agreed with the idea and many students agreed as well, but much more count of the students disagreed, only that they cannot do anything other than leaving the school and transfer to another one if they didn't like the rules.  Lucas was very much happy with the school rules. He agreed that this idea would be good to protect girls, good for his little sister Diana. He can hear among the boys, rumors about who likes who, who is hitting on who, and his ears and always open to listen if his baby sister would be among their topics. And he never failed to hear her name being mentioned every day. They talk about how cute, pretty, beautiful, rich, and awesome she is. "Oh my God! Did you see what my Goddess' ride is today?" One of the boys exclaimed. "What?! She changed her car again?" Another one asked with his eyes bulging in surprise and astonishment. "Dude, she stepped down from a white Murcielago!" The first guy proudly said looking stupid with his dreamy eyes. "Yeah, dream on. She is out of our league, remember that." The second guy slapped the first guy on the back of his head.  "I know, that is why I can only look at her from afar and worship her beauty on my own." he sighed. Knowing such a car's name and the luxury it screams out was already a sign that these young guys are also from a well-off family. Yet they admit the fact that what they have isn't comparable to what they see in their admired goddess. They don't even bother knowing her real name, they labeled her as their Goddess already. Lucas is proud to hear his sister being praised and admired but whenever he hears someone who wants to get close to her, he checks that persons academic achievements, his character, his behavior, and background regarding his past relationships, if any of them disappoints him, he will give his sister heads up about this guy. Knowing how Diana manages such situations, he lets her decide. Diana is like Diane by personality and character, she doesn't play around. She is more on enjoying herself with every good achievement she can academically and personally. Her friends are mostly their friends from the orphanage, well, they had been the twins' playmates ever since they could remember. They respect the twin's decisions to stay low profile so they admire the twins more for keeping and treating them as good friends despite the difference between their status in life. Even if they don't belong to the same classes whenever the school year starts, they still meet up for lunch and weekends or whenever Diana or Lucas would call out for them. Diana has five close friends from the orphanage some of them were senior when she first entered junior high, while now that she is in their last year of junior high, two of her orphan friends are in the lower years. Aside from that, Diana also makes friends with her classmates. She is not very outgoing but whenever there is someone who she thinks is being genuinely friendly to her, she welcomes and accepts such friendship. She is not flashy and no one, or as far as she knows, no one knew about her identity so no one would be getting close to her because of that. Even if Lucas and all her family members are all out into making her live in luxury, she chooses the simplest designs of clothing, apparel, and everything. Yet, girls from rich families can easily determine what brands and how much are the cost of what she wears. Some of them envy her with appreciation, but it cannot be avoided to be hated by other girls who are burning with jealousy towards Diana. She is aware of it, but she also knew that she cannot do anything about it. She can only control her actions, if she wants to add fuel to their fire of jealousy she can make them burn up but she knew she will be burned with them too, so it was stupid to do. She can also ignore them and go on with her life. The boys from the orphanage who go to the same school as Diana and Lucas are the ones Lucas sends to check on her during lunch or anything he needed to do in person. He doesn't appear in front of her when they are at school. He wanted to keep himself seem unconnected with her so he can do his brotherly job. He is like a tiger keenly watching at his cub.  "Hi, Diana!" Jandy greeted with a simple and polite smile. "Hi, Jandy! Wanna join us for lunch?" Diana asked as she glanced at Angela, Erica, and Mel.  "Sure! I was just about to ask if I can join you guys. Thanks!" Jandy's smile widen. "Let me guess... He sent you here?" Diana helplessly smiled. Poor Jandy will have to be teased with no end again being with a group of girls during lunch at the cafeteria.
