Taming the Cold Billionaire

Elise, who's currently eating her lunch watched her phone for how many times yet the email she's been waiting since she began to eat still hasn't invaded her phone. Yesterday, Elise tried her fifth time applying for a decent work from the company she took a visit online and from those previous company she visited and even passed her information, no one accepted her and now, she's hoping for the luck to be on her side. One time, she almost lose her hope, however remembering her family who raised her, it took herself to pursue everything and now, all she wanted was to be accepted from whatever work she applied in. “Don't sulk there, your phone might cry," Flore, Elise's closest friend since college tried to make the atmosphere brighter. Flore sat in front of her and reached for her bestfriend's hands that was already cold probably from being nervous. She also noticed that Elise was being timid for how many minutes as she sat at the kitchen counter earlier. “If they still won't accept me, I don't know anymore. I'm praying I won't lose hope but this was stressing me out. But still, I can't watch my Mom waking her ass up so early and goes to her work to give me extra money. She's also feeding Jake from home and that's... I just can't bear it. I've been a graduate student for almost seven months now and I should do something," Elise turned her phone's screen off before scooping her plate up to get it cleaned from the sink. “Well, I told you, you should get some help from Benedict. His company can give everything you and your Mom's needs. You could also enroll Jake to college without worrying about his allowance." Hearing Flore's word, Elise gave her a glare and sighed. “Your ego is so... damn. That was a long time ago. Benedict probably forgot his feelings for you already. He probably has a girlfriend or maybe he's just busy working himself from his Dad's hand. Stop worrying about your dignity in front of him and get yourself a work. Don't be such a pussy." “Alright, alright but first, I should wait for the email from JL Corporation," Elise said and made her way to the living room and slamming her body down at the couch. Flore followed behind and before joining her, and then the girl turned the TV on. “If you accepted his love before, the two of you might be a four year old couple now. I could literally imagine him spoiling you too much," Flore said but when she took a glance at her friend, Elise was having her sad face while eyes closed. “Let's stop talking about him," Elise whispered. “Ok. I probably go now before Larry fires me. I'll comeback later with your food, bitch." Once Flore went away running, Elise sighed before turning the television off. Her friend could be annoying sometimes but Flore was the only one she could count on anytime or even anywhere. Unlike her friends from college before, no one even helped when she needed money to hospitalized herself when she got into a minor accident back then except for Flore. Now minding it, no one even appreciate her of course except for flore because of her poor status. And for Benedict, that guy was head over heels for her back at college that everytime Elise goes to the cafeteria or anywhere inside the campus, he would follow her even cut his class, perks of being rich. But Elise won't deny that she likes when Benedict bought her two cartoons of milk but that was before, obviously. Benedict was extremely cute when he was following Elise but people changed. Now, he probably has the cold and serious aura just like any business man had. “Why I am even thinking about him?" Elise mumbled obviously pertaining to that rich Benedict. She didn't regret declining Benedict before but Flore has been pushing her so she felt a little guilty. If she would use her charm to him, she will probably embarrass herself especially if Benedict doesn't like her anymore. Feeling down, Elise got up from the couch and went to the kitchen. She would just probably wait for the email from the HR department of JL while letting herself drown from the food Flore provided for her. Afternoon came, Elise fell asleep and during those time, she did not notice her little brother Jake whose a high school student came into her rented condo. He came with a lot of plastic that has foods from their Mother back home. Because of being independent, after graduation Elise tried to find a work that made her earn enough money to buy an affordable home near the city and after those, she started to find a decent work until now. “Sis," Jake tried to wake his sister but the snoring from her made him realize he couldn't wake his sister that easily. “Mom brought you some extra vegetables from the garden. Mom said you are allowed to eat some instant foods but don't eat it everyday. Hey, oh come on you got to be kidding me," as minutes passed by, Jake sighed gave up and sat on the other side of the couch. He decided to just use his phone until Elise woke up on her own. Hours passed, Elise has gotten her consciousness and was surprised to see her baby brother sitting on an indian style while using his phone and probably playing online games with her friends, a same-old teenage guy. “Why are you here? Don't you have classes?" Elise asked in her drowsed self. “Come on Sis, it's sunday," Jake exclaimed, still focusing on his phone. They became quiet but after that and Jake prolly killed his screen off and faced his sister. “By the way, Mom has vegetables with me and some instant food. She gave you a permission to eat it but not every f*****g hour. You literally soaked yourself into sickness with a noodle everyday." “Do you think I have a money to buy myself a better food?" Jake his sister a look before releasing a deep sigh. “Alright." Jake stood up and fixed his short. “I won't be long. I have to go and be with mom. She has been busy and I have to be at home. I don't want to risk something," before he left, he took something from his pocket before shoving to Elise face. “What?" His sister asked. “Extra money. I hope you get accepted immediately," Jake immediately left not wanting to witness his sister's short drama. He knows what would Elise say to him about the money. You can't blame him, he loves his sister so much.
