A flicker of light lit up the darkroom that night as Christian lit the candle in his hand. "This place is so dark and spooky!" Alejandra said as she clung tight to his side. "Why did you choose such a scary place?" She asked as she looked at him with a babyish frown on her face. "It is the last place anyone would think to search for us baby", Christian replied as he protectively put one arm around her. They had snuck into an old building out in the woods that night for something important to them. It was Christian's birthday, he had just turned 18 years old, while Alejandra was 16 years old. They had been childhood friends for as long as they could remember. And now they were inseparable lovers. Stephanie Christian's elder sister told them that Christian was there when Alejandra was born. "He wouldn't let the nurses be until they let him in", she said mockingly. He fell in love with Alejandra the moment he set his eyes on her in her baby cot". Even Christian admitted that it was his earliest childhood memory; seeing baby Alejandra for the first time. Now on his eighteenth birthday, he was about to prove to her how much he loved her. He had just become an adult and Alejandra was scared that he would leave her for other ladies. Christian was devilishly handsome and was the toast of all the girls in school. He had lovely blonde hair and sea blue eyes. His body was tall and well built like that of an athlete. He was also the captain not the high school team. Alejandra had the beauty and body of a goddess. She had luscious lips and thick, long and dark hair that almost touched her waistline. She was tall and hadlegs for days and walked like a model. She was the last-born child of her parents and the only girl with four elder brothers. Both their parents were wealthy, with Christians' Dad, General Dillard Reyna, a decorated army General while his mum was a doctor. Alejandras' father, Mr. Javier was also a professor of history in the university. "Her parents are so wealthy It had to be by inheritance!" Stephanie always said to Christian. Her mum Mrs. Maria managed the family bookshop.Due to Alejandras' fears, Christian decided that he would take action that would prove his love for her and she would do the same. They would take a blood oath to love each other forever. Though they didn't believe in the powers behind blood oaths, they saw it as a way to assure themselves of their love for each other. They had written down their vows beforehand and were so excited. Christian brought out the new blade from his pocket as he looked into Alejandras' gorgeous eyes. He let out a smile as he could see the tension in her beautiful dark eyeballs. Just as he was about to cut his right thumb with the blade, Alejandra suddenly grabbed him with both hands. "You don't need to do this!" She said as she looked into his eyes. "Don't allow me to force you into what you do not want to be part of", she said with tears in her eyes. "Christian knew that she was just scared that his heart wasn't in what they were about to do so smiled at her and said; "I loved you from the first day I laid my eyes on you!" "I loved you even before you spoke your first words or took your first step". "I loved you before you were born or before you even knew I existed". "I want this as much as you do Alejandra", he said as he planted a deep kiss on her lips. She blushed and then let out a relieved sigh and watched as Christian cut his right thumb with the blade and blood flowed out They who took her right thumb also, "I'm sorry babe", he said as the blade pierced and tore through her tender skin. "Ouch!" She said as she held herself from screaming. "It hurts!" She complained. "I'm so sorry ". Christian continued to apologize. Then they joined their bloody thumbs together, looked into each other's eyes, and said; "I promise to love you forever! None other will I be devoted to". "I give you my heart, my body, my soul". "Everything is yours. I will love you till the day I die!" They then proceeded to lick each other's thumbs and shared a deep kiss. Immediately they kissed a strange strong wind began to blow I side the room and they had to hide. Suddenly Alejandra began to convulse. Christian held her in his hands, confused about what to do, he called out to her. "Alex! What going on? Talk to me!" He said as years filled his eyes. Suddenly Alejandra slumped in his hand. It was a twenty-minute drive from the house in the woods to the hospital where Christian's Mum worked. He had already put a call through to his mum about what just happened and she, in turn, told Alejandras Dad. They were both waiting for him at the emergency entrance of the hospital along with some nurses. Immediately his car came to a halt, they swung the door open and carried Alex onto a stretcher, and hurriedly took her in. Dr. Reyna on the other hand was already questioning her son. "What happened Chris?" Where did you go? Why did it take you so long to arrive". She asked in quick succession. As she attended to Alex and checked her vitals. It was the first time Alex was ever showing any sign of illness. She had never had so little as a headache in her life. So this occurrence was shocking to him "What did you do to my daughter?" He asked in anger as he took hold of Christian's shirt. "I'm sorry! I didn't do anything to her!" Christian replied as tears streamed down his eyes and people helped separate Javier from him. It took about four male nurses to successfully separate them because of the strength of Javier's grip. He is only distracted by the long beep of the heart monitor. Somebody was dead! "Impossible!" Javier said in shock as he fell to the ground.
