Adoption
~Lillian's p.o.v~
I woke up to the sound of my alarm and stared at the ceiling for a minute before climbing out of bed for the day and grabbing my clothes for the day. I walk into the bathroom and grab a new towel from the dresser. I turned the water on and switched it into shower mode and waited for it to heat up. I quickly undress and throw my clothes in the hamper. Testing the water and deciding it's warm enough I step into the shower and let the water flow over me for a minute before grabbing my shampoo and stepping out of the water and lathering it into my hair. I step back into the water and slowly rinse it out and hum quietly. Now grabbing my conditioner I begin lathering that into my hair and grab my razor. I let the conditioner sit in my hair long enough for me to shave. Once I finish that I step back into the water and rinse my hair once more and grab my comb to brush through my hair so it doesn’t tangle. I quickly lather soap onto every inch of my body and scrub myself clean.
Turning the water off I grab my towel and start to dry my hair then my body. I grab my brush this time and quickly brush my hair. Walking back to my room I go to my dresser and grab a new pair of panties and a bra and quickly slip them on. Next, I grab a pair of black denim jeans and a tank top. Slipping those on and walking to my closet I grab a sweatshirt and turn to the mirror. Once I have decided I look decent enough I grab my phone and earbuds and leave my room.
I quietly walked downstairs so as to not wake up my parents. I was almost to the last step when I heard talking. "We can always put her up for adoption. It will make her someone else's problem, we won't have to risk them showing up here. And even if they do they won't have any evidence to use against us. They are getting too close." That was my dad's voice. They don't want me anymore? Who is getting too close?
"I agree. If we put her up for adoption then we won't have to deal with them. But how would we break it to her?" By now I had tears in my eyes because neither of my parents wanted me for some reason and out of nowhere. I quietly turned and went all the way upstairs and redid my make-up so I looked normal. After that, I loudly ran downstairs to let them know I was coming. When I walked into the kitchen my mom handed me a plate with bacon and pancakes.
"Thanks, mom." I went to sit down. Her eyes twinged with a look of sadness before returning to normal. I finished my food and grabbed my backpack. "Bye, mom! Bye, dad!" I say as I run out the door. As soon as I was out of our block I slowed to a walk. I slowly made my way to school and walked straight to my first-period class. As soon as the classroom started to fill up and the class was beginning I tuned out the teacher. It was about halfway through the class period when I heard my name get called. I looked at the teacher with a confused look. "Your parents are here to get you." I nodded, got up and left.
I walked down to the office and immediately saw my parents. They signed me out and we said goodbye to the office staff. We walked out to the car and they drove me home. As soon as we arrived my parents handed me an empty suitcase. "Pack up your stuff up, you're leaving." I nodded and went up to my room to pack. I packed everything I had. My iPod and its charger, and all my clothes then I went downstairs.
"Get in the car." My dad spoke. I went out to the car and got in with all my stuff. Then they came out with a folder in their hands. I stayed silent the entire ride to wherever it was they were taking me. When we arrived my mom turned to look at me. "We are putting you up for adoption." I looked her in the eye and felt a stabbing pain in my chest. "I know." She looked confused. "You know?" I nodded holding back tears. "I heard you talking about it this morning." A look of understanding crossed her face. My dad parked the car then shut it off and we all got out.
We walked inside and up to the front desk. "How may I help you?" The lady asks. "We're here to put our daughter up for adoption." My dad said. The lady nodded. "I'm going to need her paperwork." My dad handed her the folder. She took it and looked through it. When she was done she looked at my parents and smiled. "She'll love it here. What's her name?" I looked at her. "My name is Lillian Foster." She smiled at me. She got up and walked over to my parents. "Say goodbye Lillian and I'll lead you to your new room." I looked at my parents and waved with a smile on my face." Bye guys." After that, I turned to the lady and gave a hand motion saying lead the way. She nodded and led me to my new room.
