Earlier today, upon Maureen’s advice, I took a day off from work. She said it was both in my and the company’s best interest. Because if I make a mistake, which I will, the consequences can be severe. I might misplace a form, and some person’s poor family could be attending the wrong person’s funeral. Nobody wants that to happen, and even less so than that, do I want to be responsible for that. And, in a less drastic scenario, I might mess up flower orders or set aside the wrong music. It won’t be as bad as the former, but it won’t make people happy. So, unlike usual, I’m now home in the afternoon on a Friday.
Talk to someone, Maureen had also said. Maybe talk to Kai?
