Chapter 7

I know that doing our bet is one of the stupid things I did but I am always challenged whenever I try to flirt with Cassius. He is so snobbish, but he’s extremely hot. His hawkeyes are so rough to the point your legs are gonna voluntarily open for him. After the class, I am waiting for him in the parking lot.

Nagtago ako nang makita ko si Arciely at Cassius na naglalakad palapit sa sasakyan niya. Nagsalubong ang kilay pero mas nagtago pa ako ng husto.

“Thanks for helping me with my Biochem homework,” si Arciely habang yakap nang mahigpit ang libro. Her eyes are twinkling while looking at him. “Saan ka pupunta ngayon?”

“Home,” he replied.

She grinned. “Okay. Mauuna na ako. See you tomorrow.”

“Likewise.”

Tumingkayad si Arciely para humalik sa pisnge niya. Tila wala naman pakielam si Cassius kaya nakapamulsa na lang siya. Naglakad na palayo si Arciely. Hudyat na pupunta na siya sa sasakyan niya.

Narinig ko siya na nagpakawala ng mahabang hininga at humarap sa sasakyan niya. Akmang bubuksan niya ang pintuan ng sasakyan niya nang magtama ang tingin namin dalawa. Mas lalo ako yumuko para hindi niya ako makita.

Bayan! Sana hindi niya ako makita!

“Show yourself. You just look stupid.”

I rolled my eyes. Hindi talaga ako marunong magmanman ng isang tao kaya wala na ako nagawa kundi magpakita sa kaniya. His arms are crossing against his chest. He gazed at me menacingly with no expression on his face.

“Why are you here?” his voice sounded cold and exasperated. “I can feel if someone is watching me.”

I smirked inwardly. “Are you both in a relationship?”

“No.” His eyes looked at me into slits. He really looks annoyed. “Don’t waste my time. I don’t have time for your shit.”

“I have something to say to you…” Dahan-dahan ako naglakad sa gawi niya. Kaya ngayon ay malapit kami sa isa’t-isa. His scent filled my nostrils. “Let’s have a date, Cassius.”

Matagal niya ako tinitigan parang tinitimbang ang tumatakbo sa isip ko. His jaw clenched.

“Are you aware of what you are talking about?” he snapped.

I clicked my tongue. “Yes, I’m aware. I want you.”

He took a step forward while his Adam’s apple was moving upside down in his throat. I chewed my lower lip when we were just inches away with each other. Oh my… I really like him. His features are so rough, masculine, and hot. His eyes are so intense and cold. f**k.

“I will only ruin you if I let you,” he muttered.

Tinapatan ko rin ang titig niya para ipaalam sa kaniya na hindi ako natatakot sa presensya niya. My hands brought on his chiseled chest—it is so hard. Damn.

“I’ll let you ruin me, then,” I purred. My fingertips traced his defined mandibular. “You can ruin me and wreck me for all you want, Cassius.”

He scoffed. “Be careful what you wish for.”

“Do you think I’m afraid?” Mas lalo naging nakakaakit ang boses ko. “I’m not scared, Cassius. I am more intrigued to know you more.”

He licked his lips. “Sorry to burst your bubble… I don’t care.”

Bigla niya binuksan iyong pintuan ng sasakyan niya kaya napaurong ako. Nagtagis iyong ipin ko sa inis. Parang wala siya pakielam kung masaktan man ako. Sumakay na siya sa kaniyang sasakyan at binaba ang bintana.

“Go home,” he demanded.

I arched my eyebrow. “I won’t!”

His gaze became darker. Parang pinapahiwatig niya na hindi niya nagugustuhan ang ginagawa ko. Huminga siya ng malalim at umaabante na siya para umalis na sa parking lot para iwan na ako mag-isa.

“Ruin my life, Cassius!” I shouted.

I heard a long screech from his car. Natigilan siya sa sinabi ko. Nilingon niya ako at mas lalo niya ako sinamaan ng tingin. Ningisihan ko siya at dahan-dahan ako naglakad palapit sa kaniya. Yumuko ako habang sumisilip sa kotse niya.

“Ruin me…”

He swallowed hard. “Like I said… be careful what you wished for.”

He rolled up his window then he drive away from me as if he doesn’t care if I got rape here or something. My shoulder fell down in disappointment. Thoughts are now beginning to spill from my mind. How can I f*****g tame that beast? I released a heavy breath before I marched back to my car to go home. Looks like I failed again to flirt with him.

When I head home, I went directly to my room to fall asleep. I have a runaway tomorrow for my mother’s new project. She is so popular in the fashion industry. Which is why Camilla’s mother and mine are very classic in the industry. Good thing that she and I were best friends. Even though we are quite opposite to each other. Being a wild woman helps me to boost my confidence.

I went to the bathroom to take a hot shower. I’d prefer to steam for a bit every night. It helps me to clean myself before going to sleep, as if it was cleansing my soul. I changed into my nighties then plopped myself on the bed, which earned my body to bounce a bit with my ginger cat.

Butter is slowly walking to my pillow. She really prefers to sleep on my pillow. My lips curved up in awe. Glad to have company in my house because Mom is not around here again. But I do understand her… she is a single mom.

My eyelids felt so heavy. It’s already midnight, I must sleep now because I don’t want to have dark circles beneath my eyes. Slowly by slowly, my eyes are watching the abyss flashing behind my eyelids.

“Do you miss me?”

I found myself laying on my bed, wearing a white sando and a pink pajama. My eyes grew bigger. My chest is heaving up and down nervously. Beads of sweat trickling down on my temple as I watch him grinning like a maniac.

Bumangon ako at biglang humakbang siya palapit para sumampa sa kama ko. I can’t speak nor shout as if my mouth is being stitched to refrain me from making noise. He smirked as he put his index finger above his lips to gesture to me to keep quiet. I felt all the hairs on my body rising from fear.

“W-What are you doing here?” I stuttered.

He chuckled. “Why? Don’t you miss me?”

“You are not supposed to be here, Jairus!” Mas lalo ko siniksik ang sarili ko sa headrest. Naalala ko na naman ang ginawa niya sa akin nung nakaraan. “G-Get out of my room!”

“Aww. It hurts that you don’t want me here in your room.”

“I said, get ou—”

Hindi ko natuloy ang sasabihin ko nang lumapit siya sa akin para takpan iyong bibig ko. I was making a muffle voice as he lay me down on my bed. Tumutulo ang mga luha sa mata ko habang ngumingisi siya. His free hand grabbed both of my hands and pin it above my head while I was crying so hard. I hope he doesn’t touch me again.

I hope he goes to hell!

“Shh… don’t cry, little girl,” he cooed. “I know you like how I touch you. Be a good girl or I’ll hurt you pretty bad. Do you want that?”

I shook my head.

He grinned devilishly. “Good girl. Let me taste you while they are sleeping.”

My feet landed on his crotch which made him whimper in pain. Kaso nagawa niya muli ako daganan. His calloused hand slapped me across my face. My eyes are widening in shock with pain because the heat is burning on my cheeks.

“You f*****g try to hit me again, I will f*****g gag you with my c**k!”

Bigla ako napabangon habang hingal na hingal ako. I squeezed my eyelids so tightly as my chest was moving up and down. I am trying to catch my breath again.

My past always haunts me in my dreams. Don’t I deserve to move on? I hate it when I remember Jairus’ face. He’s f*****g evil!

I heard my cat is meowing at me, she seems oblivious of what is happening to me. I check the wall clock and it’s already four in the morning. Goddamn it! Ang aga ko na naman. Nasapo ko ang noo ko habang nakapikit. Hindi ko alam kung kailan ba ako magkakaroon ng maayos na tulog. Minsan gusto ko na lang talaga malasing para makalimutan ang masalimuot kong nakaraan.

I saw in my peripheral eyes that there was a silhouette moving. I swallowed the bile forming in my throat. With my shaking hands, I manage to grab my self defense weapon. It is like a flashlight but it could petrify my target once the electricity hit them.

Tumayo ako at tumingin sa paligid. Medyo kinakabahan kung may kasama ba ako sa loob ng kwarto. Pero sa gilid ng mata ko may dumaan na anino. Humarap ako sa madilim na parte ng kwarto ko. Mabilis ako lumapit sa nightstand para buksan iyong lampara. Ngunit pag ilaw ng kwatro ay wala naman tao.

Am I paranoid? Am I seeing some ghost?

Shaking my head, I drew a sharp breath. Goddamn it, Sophia. It was just an imagination!

I hope so, though.

Walking toward the window because I really something moving out to the window. The pink curtains are swaying as the air is moving inside the room. With eyebrows pinching together, I manage to check outside. The window is indeed open. But I remembered that I didn’t leave this open. I always close the damn window!

Until a moving shadow caught my eyesight again. I squinted my eyes to see it more, a tall man walking away while wearing a black jacket. I heard my heart is booming and my brain is warning me that someone went inside my room without my permission!

However, that man halted from his track. It seems like he felt my stares burning behind his back. His head slowly tilted to see me on the corner of his eyes. My teeth were biting my lower lips. I knew despite the darkness illuminating his face, he was f*****g smirking at me as if I’m a fool.

“Asshole!” I shouted.

But now, he continued walking away after calling him an asshole. I swear to God, if he ever invaded my personal space again— I will f*****g kill him!

“That was so scary, Sophia! Did you review the CCTV cameras in your house?” Camilla questioned.

By the look of her face, she seemed terrified and nervous for my life. I was sipping on my iced coffee because I need to fuel my body right now because I want to sleep!

“I already review the f*****g CCTV, but he was not caught!” I hissed.

Her hands slap against her lips. “What if he robbed your house? Did you check your things? How about your gadgets?”

“I already checked my things… it was still in my room.”

“Why would a creep come into your room?” Sumimsim din siya sa kaniyang iced coffee habang nasa lapag naman ang kaniyang libro na binabasa. “What if… he is a murderer?”

“There is a possibility that he might be. But he didn’t kill me or molested me. I just felt him in my room while I was sleeping.”

Kanina ko pa iniisip kung nakikita niya ba kung paano ako bangungutin. Imbes na magsumbong ako sa pulis, mas pinili ko na lang mag handa para pumasok. At mamaya naman may agenda ako sa runaway ni Mama. I don’t have f*****g time, though.

But if he dares to come into my house, I will gladly call the police!

“What if… it is one of your ex-flings?” she beamed.

Bigla ako napaisip sa kaniyang sinabi. Napanguso ako habang nagkibit balikat. Aware ako na may sinasaktan ako na lalaki pero hindi ko naman masabi na kaya nila gawin iyon sa akin. But there might be a possibility. f**k it.

“I don’t know.” I place my elbow on the table while my chin is on my knuckles. Nag-iisip pa rin ako kung maaring mga ex-flings ko iyon. Pero sino naman kaya? There are too many to mention! “Siguro naman hindi naman niya uulitin iyon. Hindi naman ako ninakaw ng mga gamit. I’ll just… stay precaution.”

She huffed. “Sophia, will you call me if there is an intruder in your room? Or… you can dial 911 to help you if that scenario happens again.”

“I will. Thanks for being concerned to me.”

“I will always be concerned for you, dummy!” Ningitian niya ako kahit kinakabahan na ako sa nangyari kaninang madaling araw.

In the corner of my eyes, I saw that Eros and Cassius were walking in our canteen. Most of the girls are gawking at them. But my eyes solely focus on him— the man I want to tame so hard.

He was walking with glory as his side hair was bouncing as he stepped forward. His jaw is perfectly sculpted by God. Until my eyes caught how masculine his arms and his veins are vividly etched on his forearm. Goddamn it. This man is so beautiful but in a ruthless way.

Tumayo ako at napansin ko na sinundan ni Camilla ang tinitingnan ko. Napasimangot siya nang makita niya si Eros. Pero ako iniwan ko muna ang kaibigan ko sa lamesa namin. Busy naman siya magbasa ng kaniyang libro. Mabuti na lang wala rito sina Kriselda at Danalee. Baka mainis lang ako.

It looks like they are buying a gatorade from a vendor. Mukhang napansin ata ako ni Eros kaya napangisi siya. Dahan-dahan siya umalis sa tabi ni Eros hudyat pinagpapatuloy niya ako lumapit kay Cassius.

“Hi!” I greeted him.

His face slowly turned to me. His hawk eyes are giving me a sharp glance. Halatang ayaw niya ako makita. The muscle in his jaw ticked as he saw me grinning from ear to ear.

“I miss you, Cassius,” I purred. Lumapit pa ako ng bahagya sa kaniya. “So, are you considering my offer? To ruin me?”

He c****d his brow. “Stay away.”

Even though it’s only two words, but it gives me a f*****g goosebumps on how deep and husky his voice is. He paid for his drinks and tried to walk away in our canteen. Nakita ko naman na katabi na ni Eros si Camilla.

“I won’t stay away. I am giving you the power to—”

“Don’t say anything… you will f*****g regret it when I ruined you,” he said, darkly.

I chuckled. “Oh come on… I can handle it if you are too rough. I like it when a man is rough and makes me cry in my bed.”

His stares are so intense. His tongue is pushing the side of his cheeks in annoyance. I really admire how handsome his profile is. How can this man look so perfect yet dangerous to cherish?

“Shut up,” he grumbled.

Mas lalo ako napangisi. Akala niya ba natatakot ako sa kaniya kahit sobrang sungit niya sa akin? I am not! Mas lalo lang ako naakit. Sobra siyang nakakaakit. I wanted to taste him so badly!

“I won’t shut up unless you ruin my life…” I challenged him.

He let out a feral growl vibrating on his chiseled chest. My eyes drifted on his hand, gripping tightly the gatorade. Mukhang kaunti na lang ay masisira na iyong bote. Bigla niya ako hinarap habang sobrang dilim ng tingin niya.

“Don’t ever wish me to ruin you. I will f*****g ruin you and wreck you until you beg me to stay away from you. Close those pretty lips before I make it sore.”

Then he turned around, walking away from me. That was the first time I heard him speaking a lot. Kadalasan ay kaunti lang kaya ang hirap makipag-usap sa kaniya. Kahit ba nagalit siya sa akin, mas lalo ako naganahan.
