Tristan’s Point of View
I hate the feeling of being left out. And Trisha knows that. She is my twin for God's sake.
Yeah. Hindi ako maka-get over. She was married. And I didn't know that.
I am having a hard time processing that my baby sister, which is 2 minutes younger than me is already married and is having a hard time filling the annulment.
That f*****g playboy she married has the guts to go here in the Philippines and hurt her again.
Pero, damn. Naiinis pa rin ako kay Trisha.
“Hon. what are you thinking? Care to share?” malambing na sabi ni Lara. Hindi ko alam kung bakit dinala ko dito ‘yan sa Country Club. She is not even my type.
“Let's go back to bed, hon. I'm still sleepy.” Unti-unting bumababa ang kamay ni Lara sa boxers ko.
What can a man do with it? I just went with the flow.
We were walking at the downtown when I saw a familiar bunch of girls at Starbucks. They are having fun with their conversation and they didn't see us coming.
“Hello, ladies,” I greeted.
“Tristan,” Bati ni Cheska. Nakita kong tumaas ang kilay ni Trisha. Si Diane hindi kami nilingon.
“Nice day, isn't it? Wala ba kayong hangover?”
“Nah. We had a blast last night. Well, it's your lost you were not at Club Zero last night, Tristan,” Sam said.
“Mayro’n ba akong na-miss?” I asked. I saw the silent conversation between them.
“Who is she?” Lise asked instead. These girls are so nosy sometimes.
“This is Lara Martin,”I introduced. I saw Diane stiffened but she didn't look at us. “She's a model,” I added. Because, damn, a model is like a trophy when you have one of them.
“How come I didn't know her?” Trisha said. “Professionally, I mean,” She added.
“Honey. You didn't introduce me properly,” Lara said. Si Marie, who is the least—I think— judgemental to this group raised her left eyebrow and pretended she is sipping her latte.
“I am Lara, Tristan's girlfriend.”
“Oh,” Almost all of them said unanimously. Of course, they will do that, because they know me so well.
“I'm Lise.” Inabot ni Lise ang kanang kamay niya. Lara saw the engagement ring.
“Oh. How nice is your engagement ring? How many carats?” Lara asked as if she knew them long enough. Naubo ni Sam sa kakapigil ng tawa.
“I don't know. Maybe I should I ask my boyfriend later. Because God forbids, if this is less than 5 carats I better call off the engagement,” Lise replied. Pinakadiin ang salitang boyfriend.
“Anyway, this is Cheska, Kaye, Sam, Marie,” Pagpapakilala ni Lise isa-isa. “You know Trisha, I assumed. Kasi girlfriend ka ni Tristan, diba?” ang sweet ni Lise. But I knew her. I can sense the sarcastic tone which is Lara is unaware.
I don't care, actually. They are right anyway. Hindi ko naman talaga girlfriend si Lara. Nag-assume lang siya.
“No. Sorry I haven't met her,” Lara said too sweetly.
“Tristan. You are such a bad boy. Let me introduce Trisha Ramirez,” Lise said mockingly. I heard Marie giggled.
“Oh my God. Is she the editor and part owner of Bridal Mag and Max Mag?” Lara didn't even let Lise finished when she started to squeal. Nakita ko lang umiiling-iling si Diane. At sumenyas ng one kay Kaye.
Pinagpupustahan ba nila ako? In front of me?
“I thought you are Tristan's ex or something,” Lara added. Cheska rolled her eyes and pretended she is inspecting something on her nails.
“I am Tristan's something, alright,” Trisha replied in a bored tone.
“Which is?” Lara asked exaggeratedly. I saw Sam motioned her index finger into half to Diane.
“And this is Diane,” Lise completed her task. Napilitang tumingin si Diane sa amin.
“Hello, Lara. Small world, isn't it?” Diane, in her very graceful way, said.
Sometimes, I find her graceful. I mean… Diane. Other times, she is like a tomboy, rough and loud. But today, I saw her graceful side again. Which makes me think, where did she get those?
Tumawa nang mapakla si Lara. “Oh, hi, Diane. What are you doing here with these lovely ladies? You want to make bingwit a rich guy?”
