Thus, the clamouring of the Slavic tribes for Russia is universal. With some it arises from interior longings of the heart, while with others it issues from circumstantial inevitability, the object of which is the preservation of their life. Now, who can reject such an insistent inner voice? Individuals here and there may raise a fuss, but they will achieve nothing through their resistance, overwhelmed as they shall be by the pressure of events. The theories of the West find here no appropriate, fertile soil in which they might take root. They lead to nothing, after all, nor can they. Follow then, O brothers, that voice you hear, summoning you along the proper route to such a goal as we have never before achieved!
