Saving The Billionaire Actor

Blaire’s POV I let out an exhausted sigh when I dropped on my bed. My whole body ached. A warm shower to soothe my aching muscles sounded appealing but I was feeling to lazy . I picked up my phone and turned on my notifications. Almost immediately, messages and links to trending issues stared flooding in . Rolling my eyes, I tapped on a random link . It led me to the issue that had been trending for a few weeks now. “Powerful billionaire Actor embarrasses himself at annual charity ball “ My eyes burned as I watched the video of how Cairo tripped on his feet and spilled red wine all over his white dress shirt. It was a mistake. That much was clear but the media was making a huge deal out of it. Probably because Cairo was deemed too perfect to make mistakes . It was like they had been waiting for him to make a little mistake and when he did , they devoured it like hungry lions. It was really disgusting how people highlighted the mistakes of others just to get the highest ratings or promotions. Well whatever wishing star they wished upon had granted their wish. Cairo the perfectionist, the heartless billionaire actor , the cold and mean devil had finally had a great fall . Apart from being an actor and having his own industry, Cairo owned and managed luxury resorts all around the world . Summer last year, Cairo was involved in an accident . According to the news, he was in Spain for business and returning to his hotel after visiting the construction site of his new resort, when a truck crashed into his car and sent it into a ditch. It was the most unbelievable news ever because security was something most billionaires never compromised. Anyway, after he was saved along with his driver who sustained minor injuries , he went into a coma. For about six months ,Cairo remained asleep until he woke up halfway through the seventh month. I know all this because I used to sneak into his hospital room disguised as a nurse while he was in the hospital and when he was moved to his home , my co-worker who couldn’t keep her mouth shut was assigned to clean his home so she always had updates on his status. I remember how happy I was when he finally woke up . Everyone looked forward to seeing him on their screens . Who wouldn’t ? , when he had captured the hearts of many with his charming looks, intelligence and perfect acting skills. Even with his other less favourable qualities. Only we weren’t prepared for the major changes that we were about to witness. Cairo had changed .He wasn't the confident man we all knew. He had become a timid, clumsy and stuttering mess and it broke my heart. Why ? Simple, I had a huge crush on him and unlike most girls out there who did everything possible for their crushes to notice them ,I was content with crushing on him from afar and had been since our high school days. I even was the biggest shipper of his relationship with Serena Marshall, the famous beauty queen and model . I knew he was out of my league and I had accepted that. Besides, he deserved nothing but the best because even though he was cold and heartless, I saw him as something more and I felt that underneath all that, he was something really beautiful. Unable to watch the video further, I quickly logged out of the link and threw my phone on my night stand Honestly, what was going on ? . I understand that he had an accident but seriously did an accident change one's personality this extremely? I don’t know but judging from previous events, you’d think that the heavens were trying to punish him. His every action these days went against what he stood for. First was when he had that press conference a few months after he had recovered . He stuttered so badly that the journalists around had trouble stifling their laughter. And I remember being pissed . What was funny about a man who had had an accident ,woke up from a coma and was trying to get his life back on track but was hitting a few obstacles ? What was funny? As if that wasn’t enough , Then the second video came out He was having lunch with his stepmother when he was spotted with a wet crotch. No one knows what exactly happened ,but the media once again painted a picture that he had an out of control bladder and again ,he was ridiculed. What shocked me most was how his family ,friends, girlfriend , business partners and fellow actors were the ones promoting this behaviour from the media. Instead of them to sue anyone who ridiculed him, they rather put him positions where he was prone to embarrass himself and when he was ridiculed, they were the first to laugh and promote those videos. For months now, amid all this hullabaloo, a constant though had taken root in my head and refused to leave . Someway, somehow , I felt that something was wrong. That somebody or some people had done something to him because Cairo had too strong a personality to suddenly do a complete 180 . Whatever it was, watching yet another humiliating video made at his expense solidified this thought. I was going to get to the root of this . Call me stupid or delusional. I didn’t care . I was going to help Cairo Rodriguez and nothing was going to stop me.
