Chapter 8: Florida Wager

As Jeremy was driving me home, I kept reminiscing on the passionate kiss I could have had with Dera if he didn't interrupt.

His stereo was playing a Burna Boy music, African Giant.

As we got to my place I noticed the lights in my house were on, which meant one thing, my uncle was at home.

Jeremy came in with me to grab a bottle of coke

As we came in, my uncle Hosea was busy in the kitchen

Jeremy greeted Hosea and I introduced them to each other

Jeremy drank the coke and rested for a while before I escorted him to his car and he drove of.

I showed my uncle the shoes and the cologne Jeremy got me

"Hmm, this Jeremy kid seems to be a nice kid " he said as he smiled

"I know right?"

"So the bike outside, Jennifer got it for u?"

"Yes (I frowned a bit)

"U don't seem excited. Do u need some one to talk to"

"Yes, I got a lot of things to say cuz I'm literally stuck in a web "

"You can share with me"

"You know Jennifer right? She likes me no doubt and I like her as a friend but I have a crush on this girl, Dera and she likes me too.

But following the recent updates on Jennifer I'm beginning to feel something for her which I don't know what to call it"

" Hmmm (Hosea heaved a heavy sigh) a love triangle.

Very tactical .

First of all we shouldn't even be having this conversation cuz you're underaged to be in a romantic relationship and you have a couple of exam u need to pass with aces of which a relationship would come as a distraction.

But on the other hand, you're a young adult and you're smart.

So if u would ask me, I'd tell you to follow ur heart. Give it to whoever wins it.

If u asked me to vote, definitely I'd vote for Jennifer. NOT cause she's rich or something.

She seems nice, she's respectful and pretty too. I can't say much for Dera cuz I don't really know her" he said

"Wow! Old man since u know this much about a relationship, y don't u have a girlfriend "

"Chill son, that'll be very soon , u will see"

My uncle and I kept on gisting and laughing till the lights faded

"Brrrrrrrrrrrrrrhhhhhhh brrrrrrrrrrrrrrhhhhhhh"

My alarm woke me

I looked at the time to see if I was on schedule.

Luckily for me I was.

I was feeling kinda light headed.

My uncle Hosea and his work mates had a barbecue night at our place and a drinking spree followed suit

I guess I took too much tequila

I rushed to the kitchen and made some cornflakes for myself and came back to my room to park my luggages

I brought out the new travel bag I purchased and parked my clothes in it together with my cologne, jewellery and shoes and then zipped it.

I also placed the clothes I would wear after bathing on my bed, an off-white jean jacket and a matching colored jeans that had zippers at the legs and a white polo and then placed my fila boot on the floor with my necklace, chain Bangles and a ring.

I already had my hair cut the other day

As a matter of fact I had myself planned out to wow Dera.

I switched on my stereo, got my remote and tuned to soundcity which was playing a nasty c song strings and blings and I went to shower.

After I was through, I stuffed some cereals in my stomach before I left for school.

I must admit I came quite early as no member of my crew were in school.

Well it didn't take a minute before Jeremy came, then Dera who looked astonishing in her Louis Vuitton jean jacket and a Philip plein yellow polo which she tucked inside a bumshot jean and a yellow all-stars sneakers.

Jennifer came last.

She wore a crop top singlet and jeans with her sneakers.

I must admit she looked really pretty too.

At 9:00 sharp, all the students were already present.

And we were all sorted into the school's roller coaster

Dera went straight to the back and secured a seat for the both of us at the window side

I felt shy a bit but I summoned courage and went to her.

She adjusted and I passed through and sat on the seat.

I looked up and saw Jennifer at the other end of the bus staring murderously at Dera and I got scared.

Soon the journey began

The plan was to drive to owerri where we would then board the school's private jet.

It was really going to be a long journey and a long journey needs a good song

I brought out my earphone and connected it to my phone

"Hey what are u doing" Dera asked me as she smiled and that made her look more cute ,, like an angel

"Nothing, I mean it's going to be a long journey and I need a song to keep me company." I said nervously

"C'mon play something nice"

"You want to listen too (I asked shyly and she nodded her head like a little girl) wait, I think I have just the right song" I said and gave her one piece of the earpiece.

I went straight to my boomplay and tuned to a Post Malone ft Swae Lee song, sunflower

"Hey I like it" she smiled and rested her head on my shoulder while I began to observe the beautiful environment through the window

It took about 3 hours before we finally got to the airport in owerri and we all alighted from the bus and entered the airport.

As I was about entering Henry stopped me

"Hey!" He said

"Hi" I replied feeling perplexed

"I see you are dating my girl" he said and this got me nervous

"No offense bro, I thought you guys broke up " I asked nervously

"That we broke up doesn't mean I have given up on her so watch ur back bro" he said and left

I kinda got pissed of as he was tryna intimidate me

"And may the best man win" I shouted back at him boldly and he stopped on his tracks.
