Going Up The Mountain

The sun was high in the sky with numerous thick white clouds floating about, the cool breeze of the mountain was very pleasing when it blew across one's skin. The beauty of the forest was breathtaking along with the body nourishing feeling of the pure Qi of Heaven and Earth. But at this time, there was no one to take in the beautiful sight of the mountain and feel it's comfortableness, this was because today, large waves of young martial artists could be seen rushing up the mountain with the fastest speeds possible, that they could muster.

As of this moment when everyone finally came through the transportation formation door, the South Wind Martial School Examination had finally begun. Some persons chose to take the marble road up while orders chose to take the forest root, this was because to them the marble road was just right there in front of them and it looked too obvious and maybe was filled with many traps. But to the others, maybe they too thought of this scenario as well but what if it wasn't so and they took the forest root up and took a much longer time to make it up the mountain then what would happen then.

To some, though they thought that if the marble road was bad then they would just directly abandon it and take to the forest and travel up from there. Maybe they would even come across some rare medicinal herbs along the way but this was only secondary and making it up the mountain was primary. As the young martial artist made their way up to the mountain top, quarter way up, loud screams could be heard from both within the forest and on the marble road, in the forest, large tree branches would instantly shot up out of the ground or off of a tree and shot towards the charging martial artist.

These young martial artists only had one thought in mind and that was to make it up the mountain in two hours but what they didn't remember was that the green robe elder had said that they would face many challenges along the way. The large tree branches would shot towards the charging martial artists and hit them from tricky angles, sending they flying backward, some even getting injured in the process

On the marble Road, large marble-like rocks would burst apart, sending small rocks shooting in all directions and hitting everyone that was in its burst radius. The small broken marble rocks were tough to the point of almost being called steel, when they hit a person, that person would be injured on the spot if they were caught unprepared.

"These fools. Don't they listen" murmured Jia Lin as he listened in on the screams of the numerous practitioners up the mountain? Jia Lin wasn't in a rush nor was he in a hurry due to the given time, after all, he was on the experienced expert of his past time so he knew full well not to rush things in the way that these young men and women were. As Jia Lin started to slowly run up the mountain, he saw a young lady that looked to be around 17-18 years of age, she was quite beautiful with her tall hair and brown eyes, she was wearing a white robe as she dashed passed him with full speed and into the forest. Maybe to her, that was the safest of the two roots.

"Half step to the earth realm. So there are actually capable people here after all" thought out Jia Lin aloud. The speed of the young woman that had just passed him and went into the forest was even considered as acceptable by even him. A smile came across his face as he thought of the many challenges that he would have to face in this examination or even in the school. First, there were those three mad heads Nix, the money face and pale face youths and not to mention that capable freak Hang Zhou who had previously challenged Jia Lin by locking onto him with his strong aura when he first came to the martial school.

"Hey come to think of it, I haven't seen brother Fen Guo since I've returned. I wonder what's happened to him after this examination is over, I'll go look for him".

Jia Lin started to ran a lot faster than before and soon with a dash, he turned towards the forest. It wasn't that he thought too, that the forest was a safer root to travel up the mountain in but due to the methods of his speed and the black Mists that would be needed for him to travel, he thought that he would use the trees and bushes in the forest as a means of cover when launching his movement abilities. It wasn't that he was planning on showing off or anything, no, he would try his best to reduce his movement speed as much as possible to try and not draw as much attention to himself as possible.

But that didn't mean that he would do so to the point of making it in last and not obtaining enough sore point to making it into the Heaven class. "A formation huh," he thought as he looked up into the sky, there he could see a screen but this screen didn't turn towards them but the mountain top. Due to his guesses, this screen was most likely a formation screen that would enable school head Qin Long and the elders to monitor both the events on the marble road and in the forest.

This formation screen was well hidden, one had to have sharp eyesight and a strong soul force just to even spot even the frame of the screen much less the things that were happening on it, but Jia Lin had. It wasn't because his soul force was strong enough or that he had good eyesight but each Formation had a different energy fluctuation and due to the fact that the black Mists within Jia Lin's body was extremely sensitive to energy fluctuations and their charges, he was able to spot the hidden screen in the sky.

"Did that boy just looked at the hidden formation screen?" asked the Green robe elder with a little shock in his voice. Jus from listening to him, one could tell that he was somewhat surprised but to the rest of the elders they didn't really pay much attention to it because to them, they thought that it wasn't the screen he was looking at but the sky itself. Maybe it was just a coincidence that the boy looked at that spot after all his Cultivation base wasn't high enough to have spotted the formation screen or had this boys soul force strong enough to do so either.

But this thought was also shown on school head Qin Long's face because he too thought as the green robe elder did. That this boy truly had some capabilities and that he had really looked right at the hidden formation screen that was in the air. "Who exactly his this child" murmured headmaster Qin while paying close attention to Jia Lin a the screen projection before him. Jia Lin looked away from the screen in the air and dashed up the mountain, he didn't know what these elders were thinking about him nor did he knew that the housemaster was paying very close attention to him either.

One had to know that Jia Lin had a strong build and his foundation couldn't be much more stable and firm. Due to the Mist trials, his muscles, bones, flesh, and organs were reformed a new and they were much tougher than a practitioner on the same level as himself. Even his movements were much more refined than others of his level, his strength was even more so shocking than the other features of his body, and with a push of his strong legs, cracks were made on the ground as he now started to madly dash up the mountain with little to no care in the world.

"I will take first place in this movement test, thus when the time comes for me to collect my resources for training, it will be boundless" chuckled Jia Lin. Soon he came across many young practitioners, both common and noble but he paid no attention to any of them, he even saw that pretty girl that was in white robes as well. Surprisingly she was of the commoner faction and was call Zin Len, he continued running up the mountain. "s**t that pig is actually this capable" shouted the money face youth as he saw Jia Lin catching up to them from off in the distance, "Let him come. I would like to see just how he will pass me" Nix was in a sour mood, he feet tap off a tree branch as he and the money and pale face youths dash from tree to tree up the mountain. Sometimes they would even run across the ground then back to the treetops, to avoid the hide obstacles that were both on the trees and on the ground.

"Haha, if it isn't those three dogs" while Jia Lin was dashing up the mountain, up ahead he saw Nix and his two companions and his good mood soured to the skies while he punched out and mashed an incoming tree branch.
