Taming a Alpha Female

Most stories start out with 'Once Upon A Time' and end with 'They Lived Happily Ever After'. But not this one. I come from a family of Shifters. My mother named me Artemis after the goddess of the Moon and hunt, and my older brother's name Is London, she told me his name means 'Fortress of the Moon'. She said it was so I always knew he was a safe place to go to if ever in danger. My mother was the kindest woman I ever knew. But she also had a temper if crossed. But more than anything she was a fierce protector. It was in her nature, because she was Alpha. After my father passed, she ruled the pack. Whenever we were in danger she would put me in a small tunnel and tell me "see you on the other side" and she always would. When she left for work in the morning she would say "I will see you when I get home." We never say goodbye. I guess it was a rule we had 'No Goodbyes'. So the day she said Goodbye I knew something was wrong. She put me in the tunnel like always when we were in danger. But before she closed the trap door this time she said "Goodbye". My last memory of her, we were playing cards when all of a sudden she jumped up from her chair and grabbed me. She took me to the tunnel and put me in. As she was closing the trap door I said "Mama, I will see you on the other side." She turned around and with a single tear she said "Goodbye Artemis, tell your brother I love him," and she shut the door and locked it. I then began trying to get it open, to no avail. So I followed the tunnel out. When I emerged on the other side she was not there. I began running back to our Den when I got there what I saw was Red on the walls on the tables everywhere red, red life's blood, and there in the middle on the floor she was covered in red. I stepped forward only to step in blood and fall to my knees. "Mama?" I called out to her as I crawled over. "Mama, it me your baby. Mama your little moon is here. Mama open your eyes. Mama, mama, mama!" I cried. ************* I jolt awake and reach for my knife. "Easy Princess, it's only me." I rub my eyes awake and adjust to the dimly lit room. "Another nightmare?" he asks. "I heard you screaming again." "Yes, Brother. It was about the night we lost mama," I tell him. "Do you think you can fall back to sleep?" he asks. "Why? What time is it?" I ask as I look over at the alarm clock. It read 4:32 am. Nope I can kiss more sleep goodbye. I sigh "I better get ready for work, and you should stop bringing women who wear cheep perfume." I say and jump out of his reach before he can grab me. I head to the bathroom and start the bath. Before I get in I hear a noise and reach for my knife. As i grab my knife a hand comes up behind me and covers my mouth. "I wouldn't if I were you," a male voice says. I sniff the air but all I can smell is that cheap perfume. "I am going to let go don't scream," he tells me. I roll my eyes,as if I would scream I am pretty sure I could take this guy. "Why would I scream, I am pretty sure I can take you if need be!" I tell him. I grab my towel. "You're pretty gutsy to break into my house. Anyway what brings you here, and give me a reason I shouldn't rip your throat out where you stand," I say calmly. "You're blunt, I like that. My father sent me to win the hand of the alpha here. But let's be straight, I like my life as is and have no intentions to marry. I mearly wanted to know what you look like, but I must admit I would love for you to warm my bed," he laughs crudely. "The only why I will ever warm your bed is if you are my true mate. Now leave before I kill you where you stand." "Before I go do you at least want to know my name?" he asks. "I have no need for such sentiments," I tell him "Very well you will find out soon enough anyway," he laughs and turns to leave. "One more thing, the one that reeks of cheap perfume don't trust her." "Artemis you have been in there for quite some time, are you okay?" my brother calls out. "I am fine London," I tell him through a crack in the door. As I shut the door and turn around to finish talking to the man who was just here I discover he is gone. "I home you get eaten by Rouge's," I mumble under my breath. With a huff I finish taking my bath.
