The Juggernaut of the Mist

The next day, the female students as well as her followers entered class and most of the students greet them right after seeing them. “He must be here today right? Just as it was written in the results.” She says to herself and looks around only to see nothing and disappointed herself. “That’s weird, I don’t see that person at all.” One of the students beside her says after seeing that Kris is not around. “Maybe he is a little late, considering that this is the first advancement that the lower classes are able to achieve. Everyone tends to be nervous about those things.” One of them says a plausible explanation for Kris’ absence and the rest of them agreed after going on reason in their head.

               A few moments later and the teacher for their classes arrived with two students along with him. The female student and the others who knew of their arrival were excited when their teacher announced that they will have two more students joining them today onwards but they are then immediately disappointed that Kris is not one of them. “What the hell? Isn’t that the guy that lost? How in the world is he able to advance even after defeat?” one of the students says in utter disgust. [So that’s what happened huh? Despicable. Shameless.] the female student tells herself after realizing what happened as one of the other students enlightens the others of the possible things that might have happened.         

               “First would be that the student failed the other requirements, and second would be that the student has no power, in other words, the match was rigged and that guy who lost has much influence to their teacher. Otherwise, we would not be seeing his sorry face. It’s a wonder how he is able to smile like that even after doing something shameful.” The student says as the others beside him shake their heads. “Well, we can’t go against what the teachers decide. It’s their say in the end after all.” The female student says as she turns her head to the other student beside the guy who lost to Kris.

               [Moreover, he looks like he despise the fact that he advanced to the higher classes. Is he also not happy of the other guy’s advancement?] she thinks to herself as the teacher tells the two to occupy the empty seats on the back. “I am in your care!” Mathos says with a joyful tone  as he heads to the nearest empty seat and Johannes just past by him with an uninterested expression. The other students sees this and thinks that something must be wrong with the two. [Well, well, what do we have here? Usually new students tend to stick to each other like leeches but to think these guys are different. The other one is desperate to make some acquaintance right after sitting in his seat, that tells more about his personality. While the other one doesn’t even make some efforts to make some friends and indifferent. I think I like the last guy more than the first one.] a students thinks to himself as he secretly observe the two intensely.

               Meanwhile, back in Kris’ room, they are now listening to their teacher explaining the ways to get your spells stronger for the tenth time that the students do not look interested. “He says that but doesn’t even know how to do it. Not to mention that shameless act of making Mathos advance even though he lost the practical test, talk about shameless.” One of the students secretly told the others who then immediately lets out chuckles. The teacher sees this and tells them to take the lecture seriously. [These damned kids, if it weren’t for your influential families I would have embarrassed all of you.] the teacher says to himself and then quickly remembers that he can actually bully a certain student.

               “Mr. Grindall, you know that I have given this lecture for countless time now already. I want to hear what you think about the lecture.” The teachers ask Kris who is listening to his lecture. “I think everyone here already know the basics and we all look at the best things from the lecture but- I think strengthening your spells is not an ideal thing to do in every situation. I personally think that kind of thinking is flawed, every fight is not won by strength alone, sometimes we need to use other means to achieve victory without relying so much in mana. We have our fists and legs after all.” Kris sits after responding to the teacher who immediately gets infuriated by his remarks.

               “So you are saying that relying on mana is flawed? Are you trying to make an enemy of the entire academy?” the teacher ask but Kris only stares at him indifferently. “I’m not trying to make an enemy out of anyone, especially when I am this weak. I’m just saying what I personally thought of the lecture and as you can see, even though I am weak, I was able to make use of my physical strength in the match. And I am not the only one that have realized this, a person from the thousand mist have already been using a similar kind of fighting style.” Kris protest and defended himself by saying the last fact that even the teacher doesn’t know of.

               [Yes, there is a person that uses his physical strength and stomps every fight that he involves himself. In my previous life, he is already an old man when I met him but the aura around him tells me that he can easily kill me with ease if he wanted to, therefore he is easily one of the respected persons in the whole world. There is one instance that made everyone just hearing his name tremble, and that is when he faced a hundred expert mages and killed them all easily. From that moment on, he acquired the title ‘The Juggernaut of the mist, Libo Huarang.] Kris thinks to himself as he makes the teacher speechless. His classmates are also in awe seeing their teacher speechless for the first time that they felt a little relieved that Kris did not advance and let them savor the sight of the teacher’s humiliation.

               Some of the students even gave Kris a thumbs up secretly with smiles on their faces. [Huh? I was just defending myself though.] he thinks to himself as both female and male students smile at him. [What the hell was that?  I did not even know a person like that exist from another kingdom, is this guy messing with me?!] the teacher then collects himself and ask Kris for that person’s identity. “Hmmm? I thought teacher knows about him but I think he is still not much famous. His name is Libo Huarang, from the thousands mists.” Kris tells the teacher but he is not convinced.

               “Are you messing with me? If that person’s fighting style is strong then he should have been famous now.” The teacher says when all of the sudden, a female student raise her hands. “Teacher, I think I an vouch for Kris’ claims. Libo Huarang is my mother’s elder brother from the thousand mists. In short he is my uncle, I heard from my mother that uncle does not rely on spells entirely and uses his body to fight as well. I saw him fighting a couples of times when I was a kid but he easily defeats some of the geniuses of the continent easily. At first I think that he is not special at all but I did not expect someone from my class would know my uncle so I guess he is quite popular after all.” The female student says meekly that completely nailed Kris’ remarks and labels it as truth.

               The teacher then dismiss the class early and leaves in a hurry and the students have already an idea why, Kris on the other hand is wondering how all of these happened. [What? We had a classmate that is related to Libo?] he thinks deeply to himself when all of the sudden he remembers the name of the female student. [Xia Reman, her mother is the younger sister of Libo Huarang. How could I forget about that name? Is it because Mr. Libo told me to marry his niece and I take it as a joke?] Kris then messes his hair after realizing it late.

               Notice: All memories cannot be retrieved after scanning through everything. Conclusion: The human body’s limitations are hindering the retrieval of memories.

               [Ah! I forgot about this thing too. Is this what the pill does? There is a voice in my head that speaks after taking that pill. At first I thought I was going crazy but to think that it was only the beginning.] Kris then gets alerted by the notice of the system.

               Notice: Multiple subjects are approaching.

               Kris turns around and sees that there are students who approached him and thanks him for letting them see that precious sight.  

Meanwhile

               “What? Libo Huarang? You don’t know that person?” another teacher ask Kris’ homeroom teacher with a disappointed face. “No- I don’t.” the other teacher then shakes his head in disappointment. “That person is recognize for his overwhelming strength in fights and utilization of his physical prowess that makes him a force to be reckoned with. He is one of the hottest topics in the continent now.” The other teachers says and leaves Kris’ teacher in utter shock.
