Rank S, Meteor Shower

1876 Words
Kris decided to accept Mathos’ challenge after finding that he had already succumb to his provocation. [Let’s just test. Committing any further would only hurt me on the process.] Notice: Accurate reading of situation. Deliberately letting yourself be defeated is one of many ways that would keep you from their sights. But by doing so, you will also be an eyesore to them and will pick on you often. Conclusion: Show overwhelming strength in the first minutes and quickly withdraw your strength after the results satisfy you. [Its just as the systems says. I need to pour everything in the beginning. That way, they will hesitate to pick on me.] Kris wholly agrees to the system’s suggestion and decides to do just that. [Let’s see how large my mana pool had become.] Kris smiles as he steps inside the small. Mathos who could not wait for them to fight again shows his impatience as he taps his feet on the floor with a nasty glare directed at Kris who takes it as a sign that his plan worked.                [Calm down me, he is just trying to get in my head. There is no need to get agitated by his words.] he says to keep himself calm despite his body getting warmer in anger. He takes a look at Kris’ face and then immediately gets irritated. [Fxck! I really want to smash his face right in. Just as he did to my face during the practical test. Screw being calm, I’ll kill him.] Mathos grit his teeth. James sees this and looks down on Mathos even more. [He can’t even control his emotion properly, how can you expect to win in a battle when you are about to erupt in anger even when the fight has not started?]                James sees that Mathos is a lost cause and sees Ophir’s past self in him. “If you are both ready then you are cleared to proceed. Fight, start!” Mathos did not waste his time and immediately showers Kris with his water bullet which the other easily defended using a wall of earth. “Lightning scatter!” Mathos  turns to use his body to attack and lands to the floor as lightning scatters around him after touching the floor. Kris gets away from the lightning that Mathos produced with his spell by jumping away.                “Vacuum.” Mathos gets suck in towards Kris’ hand who in surprise erected a wall before him to prevent himself from getting pulled further. “Is that the best you can do?” Mathos smirks while looking directly at Kris but to his surprise, Kris has some magic circles surrounding his arm, signifying that his attack is not finished yet. [What is he planning to do?-!] a shadow towers above him and sees the figure of Kris from the earth wall that he erected.                “What the heck is that spell-!” his words get interrupted when he forced himself to move away but finds himself rooted on the floor. “Kris you bastard!” Mathos yells. “Muddy pit, Earth manifestation, Earth javelin.” Kris mutters the chants of the spells as the people around them that are watching drops their jaws in shock. [That’s four spells at the same time. Is he crazy? That easily eats away your mana.] James think to himself but to his surprise, Kris unleashes a fifth spell after his Earth Javelin missed.                The sky around the entire arena darkens as Mathos looks around in confusion, seeing that the atmosphere become easily silent, he felt that something big is going to happen. “What the hell is this Kris you bastard!” Ophir and James felt a sudden chill on their spines as they recognize the spell that Kris just used. [Impossible- that is a rank S spell. How can he use that after casting four spells at once? He should have emptied his mana reserves by that point but to cast that spell? That’s impossible!] James becomes anxious and turns to Ophir who also feels the same.                “Rank S, Meteor shower.” Right after Kris muttered those words. A huge magic circle occupies the entire arena where they stand and countless burning meteorites falls from the sky. Mathos’ eyes widens as he froze stiff and stares at the sky which is seemingly piercing through the sky itself. “What the hell is this spell?” Mathos mutters as the meteors almost reach him but then he recovers from shock and immediately poured everything he can to defend himself and cast multiple defensive spells at once.                [Heh~ he should be really tilted right now. But I guess this is my limit. Casting a f*******n spell is still beyond me- Meteor shower is enough to eat my mana dry. What a terrifyingly greedy spell.] Kris thinks to himself as he faints to the floor while the arena is being bombarded by the meteors from his spell.                BOOM! BOOM! BOOM! BOOM! BOOM! BOOM! BOOM! BOOM! BOOM! BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!                James and Ophir could not act after knowing that their struggle will not suffice and cancel out the spell and could only wait for everything to finish. But to their surprise, Kris’ Meteor shower still continues to bombard the arena with meteorites, a thing that they did not know even though they are well aware of what the spell can do. “Why isn’t it stopping?” James ask Ophir who also scratch his head. “You’re asking me even thought you already know that I am dumb?” James criticizing Ophir’s intelligence came to bite his hand where he really needs an answer.                BOOM! BOOM! BOOM! BOOM! BOOM! BOOM! BOOM! BOOM! BOOM! BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!                Mathos’s followers started to get concerned of his situation after seeing the countless meteorites raining down on the arena, without hesitation. They started to use water based spells to extinguish the flames on the arena but if proved to be anything but fruitful. When all seems to be lost, the rain of meteorites stops when another large circle appeared above Kris’ magic circle and erase it.  “Rank S, Disperse.” The headmaster mutters as the meteorites stops raining on the arena floor.                The rest of the students then bow their heads after seeing their headmaster walk down the stairs with amusement in his eyes. “Who is the one responsible for using a f*******n spell?” the head master asked all of them and Mathos’ followers points to where Kris was. “That- that guy is the one who used that spell-! Huh? A what?!” one of the followers jolt in surprise.                The dust covering the arena is swept away by the headmaster’s spell and reveals Mathos defensive spells buttered. James and Ophir’s eyes widened after seeing a humanoid figure using a spell that immediately dispersed the barrier after recognizing that there is no more threat around them. The humanoid figure that looked like Kris then turned to dust. “What the hell was that- he did not get a single scratch after being under the rain of meteorites!” James quickly starts sweating when he himself could not understand what happened.                “Bring these two to the infirmary. Looks like this student dried his mana reserves. It’s completely empty. Give him a dose of mana potion. Being deprived of mana for a long time will damage your mana pool .” the headmaster ordered as the people beside him started to move. Others in charge to taking Mathos out of his defensive spells starts dispersing his spells and finds him with multiple broken bones. “Geez, this guy looks like he took every single one of those attack directly.” One of them said as they pity Mathos’ condition. “You should be an i***t thinking that something like molten cave or earth’s embrace would be able to defend against something like that. A proper defensive spell that will not damage your inside should be a mana barrier. Making a barrier out of your mana is also the same as using your mana to conjure a spell but the mana barrier has no physical body, therefore anything that has a medium will have a lesser damage.” One of them criticized Mathos decision.                [This kid again. He is the one I saw earlier. What an interesting kid.] the headmaster thinks to himself as he smiles after taking a closer look at Kris’ face. “What class is that kid in?” the headmaster ask James and Ophir who are still puzzled by what happened. “He- he belongs to the lowest class.” James responded to the headmaster’s  query after a brief delay. But his response is not taken seriously by the headmaster and his followers. “You must be joking right?” the headmaster tells James but the young man did not show any signs that he is lying.                “Ah- so you are saying the truth. Very well. You two go back to your rooms and rest. This must be a stressful day for everyone.” The headmaster says and the wo immediately left for their rooms.  “What a mess. Look at these place. Will this take a while to repair?” he asks the person beside him who is flabbergasted after seeing the condition of the arena. “A lower class student really did this?” he asks. “Apparently so, but for a low class student to be able to do something like this. It’s unbelievable.” The headmaster muttered.                [His Meteor shower is not really strong and it all may be due to the level of his mana pool but to continuously rain down like that, its still a mystery. The meteor shower I know only drops down  a single set of meteorites but that was different. I doubt that it would end if we didn’t arrive in time to erase it.] he looks at the cracks and holes on the floor of the arena that doesn’t resemble one after the spell ended.                “I said that a few days ago but I did not expect to see him again.” The head doctor says as he stares at Kris’ sleeping face. “Well, you were the one that told him to be reckless after all. He might have taken those words seriously.” His assistant says and recalls the exact words that his master spoke. “Stop- don’t say anything more.” The doctor says with an embarrassed expression. “I heard that he used a f*******n spell. It must still be considerably weak but to reduce his opponent in that sorry state, what kind of spell did he use?” the doctor ask and his assistant hover her hands above Kris’ head.                “Let me check.” She says as her eyes glowed white.                FWOOOSH!                “Rank S, Meteor shower.-! keuk!” she falls to the ground after reading the last spell that he used. “What happened?” the doctor runs to her side but the assistant is already on her feet. [What the hell was that? A winged humanoid creature holding a book?] she thinks to herself and then glance at Kris. “Who is this kid?” she mutters.
