Unforgettable Memory

“You seem to be fine after getting that much beating huh?” Mathos asks Kris with a huge smile on his face. “Well,  that beating will not be enough to permanently put me down after all.” Kris rebukes with a grin trying to taunt Mathos knowing that he can be easily swayed by his emotions. “Look at this brat, did it get to your head for only defeating me once? You got only got lucky you bastard.” Mathos declares as Kris scoffs him off with a smile and turn his back at him. [Look at this bastard- turning his back on me like that while I’m talking. He really is a cocky bastard!] Mathos grinds his teeth  in anger. The two students that Flora tasked to observe Kris witnessed everything after the explosion earlier. [What the- oh, the new yet useless classmate.] Ophir says to himself. To their surprise, magic circles surrounds Mathos’ arms, hinting them that he is ready to unleash another spell, all while Kris is not looking at him and unaware of the situation.                “I don’t think you should be doing that.” James says out loud. Mathos was about to snap at the person that interrupted his sneak attack but then he realize that it was two of his seniors so he cancels the spell. “It’s nice seeing you seniors. What brought you here?” Mathos says trying to mask the thing that he was about to do to Kris and bows humbly. The two already know what kind of person he is just by glancing at him for the first time but the two of them accepted his greeting kindly and ask him what he is about to do.                “You were about to launch an attack to an unsuspecting student. Do you know that it is f*******n to do something like that? The academy might be an institute that is solely focused on teaching but it prohibits aggressive behavior unless it is in a duel. We heard that you claim for him to have only been lucky to have defeated you. So why don’t you ask him in a duel, that way you can show us that your claim is the truth.” James added. Ophir immediately realize what James intends to do and just decided to shut his mouth up before screwing his plans.                [This- this might be the chance that can show them what I can do. This time- this time for sure. I will beat you to a pulp.] Mathos smirks with Kris on the other hand just listens to them silently.                Notice: The subject Mathos is showing signs of bloodlust directed at you. Conclusion: He will accept and challenge you for a duel.                [I already know that he is going to take the bait. I can’t just test how large my mana pool had become out in thin air right? I need to have a sparring partner to test it out.] Kris deliberately annoyed Mathos. [Knowing Flora Flames, she would not like anyone following her overlook something like this. So I set it up and fortunately everything played as what I think would happen and it did.] Kris secretly smiles in his head after his plan succeeded into luring him into having a duel with Mathos.                [Now that there are witnesses and seniors from his class, he will try everything to make me look bad, the typical Mathos.] Mathos then walk towards him issuing him for a duel. “I challenge you to a duel Kris. Don’t even think about declining me because I will not acknowledge it. After this there is no need for me to pester you.” Mathos says with a confident tone and expression.                [Let’s bring in the final blow.] Kris then turns to him with an uninterested look on his face. “What are you babbling about? What if I don’t want to have a go with you? I have not intention of fighting you again in the first place, not to mention that I have beaten you so where is the point in fighting again?” Kris tries to hide his smile. James looks at him intensely right after hearing the words that he blurted out and piece everything together in his head.                [This cunning bastard- I think I know what he plans to do.] James then smiles, Ophir sees this but is clueless of what his companion thinks. Just as James stated earlier, Ophir is definitely strong but is equally stupid to understand complex things. [What is happening to these guys? Why do I feel the same energy from the both of them] Ophir thinks to himself as he then remembers the only thing that he could not forget that happened in the past. A little flash back                               Ophir is a brilliant fighter that even in his early age, his talent is recognize by those people around him. And his only flaw is that he can’t process complicated things if it is not explained to him in simple terms. Due to this huge flaw, some of their family members doubts if he is suited in leading their family in the future. A certain gathering of higher nobles made James and Ophir cross paths. Compared to Ophir, James’ combat ability is inferior to him but his intelligence makes up for his lacking strength.                              If Ophir is thought to be the manifestation of strength, James is thought as the manifestation of intelligence. The two first met when one of the kids is comparing the two and Ophir declares that he is the strongest in all of them. “There is no way that there is any other kid that can defeat me.” Ophir says as he raise his fists in the air. James first saw this as troublesome and insignificant but then thought of something. [Heh? So he really is that kid huh? He really is boastful just like the rumors says, so why don’t we embarrass him for the first time?] a villainous smile appears on his face.                              He then walks up to Ophir with the intention to ask him to a duel. “So you are Ophir huh? Nice to meet you, everyone seems to be comparing the both of us all the time so why don’t we have a duel and show everyone whose better?” James says and immediately agrees. “Yes, lets do that! I am not fan of comparing and it irritates me all the time so let’s show everyone who is better.” Ophir smiles enthusiastically while James on the other hand remains calm.                              [Heh~ so he is quite the simple minded person. The rumors are proving to be true after all.] the two then moved at the garden where they will hold their duel, they are accompanied by the kids interested in their fight. An adult supervised their duel as James suggested. “So, are we ready to start?” Ophir bumps his fists together with the usual confident face. “I am ready to start when you are.” James responds with a lax tone. “If you are both ready then you can start.” The adult noble says.                              Right after the duel start, Ophir immediately unleash his spell directed at James who still remains calm. “You better bring u p an ice wall to defend against this. Magic missile.”                PWWWWWOM!                                            James gladly take his attack head on and conjures a wall of wind to redirect his attack in the sky. “Wall of gust.” The magic missile that Ophir fired exploded in the air and send shockwaves throughout the area. Some of the nobles felt the shockwave and turn to the direction where it originated. [His attacks are definitely strong but that’s it.] James thinks to himself as he makes a hand gesture before unleashing his next spell. “Water bullets.”                                             PEW! PEW! PEW! PEW! PEW! PEW! PEW! PEW! PEW! PEW!                              James’ water bullets lack power behind them and are easily defended against with a simple blow of air. Ophir those all the water bullets in the air but James already saw that he might do something like that  and reach his hands out in the water above Ophir. “Hail storm.” The water bullets above Ophir then solidifies and turned into large frozen hail. Not expecting the outcome, Ophir panicked and surrounds himself with wild flames that easily melts the hail but not enough to but it to gas. “What were you expecting to do this those things?” Ophir asks cockily with the same confident expression.                              And to his shock, the one he was boasting to is a clone made of frozen ice and the real James hides himself behind the clone with a spell ready to unleash. “Well, thanks for melting the ice but even if you didn’t your defeat is still inevitable.” Right after saying those words, a lightning in the form of a serpent crawls towards Ophir and electrocutes him strong enough to make him piss his pants.                              BZZZZZZT!                              “Your spells might be strong but you lack in the head department. Your struggles were nothing more than to entertain the people who are watching. They were not meant to win, they are meant to show them your strength. A duel doesn’t work like that. You must have been playing with clowns your entire life. What a boring and unfruitful life that should have been.” James says before leaving the crowd in silence. Back in the present time                              Ophir feels the same air and aura around Kris. [This feeling is just like that time. The time where someone will get embarrassed, badly.] he thinks to himself.
