Competition's First Day Ended

“Teacher -is this still fine? Is this not against the rules?” Duke ask the teacher who is standing on the sides of the platform staring at them. “Yes, he has not violated any rules at all. It is still good.” The teacher responded as Kris waits for them to finish talking patiently and then he turns to Duke after listening to his concern. “Am I good to start now?” one of the doppelgangers asked showing signs of patience while the other doppelgangers are showing impatience with their individual personalities.

               [How is this still fine when its seventeen to one?!] Duke thinks to himself before he plunge into despair and turns to his comrades for her knowing that they could not do anything to help him. “Wait, Kris. We can still talk about this. There is no way that I can fight against you, as you can see, I am basically outnumbered, how can I deal with everyone of you at the same time?!” Duke exclaims in fear as Kris savors it.

               “Now that’s bad. I did not think that the Graine family has someone as pitiful as you. They are supposed to be one of the influential families right?” Kris wounds his reputation even more as his family leaves the arena embarrassment. Duke sees his father’s gaze filled with disgust and felt like his world crumbled to dust. “Insignificant bastard.” Duke can properly read it on his father’s lips.

               “Well, I need to end this fast so that I can rest. Who knows when my name is going to pop out next. Dragging this any longer will only spell it bad for me later.” Kris smiles as his doppelgangers walk forward and did some various poses for the activation of their individual spells.  “I hope you are ready, Duke Graine.” Kris warns and all the doppelgangers smile along with the original. Duke Graine had not felt fear his entire life and had only experienced it for the first time and Kris made it sure that Duke will not forget it as long as he lives.

               Multiple spells attacks the poor student as he falls unconscious to the floor after a one side fight. [Looks like I did not get to use the spell that the system had created to aid me. Well, I can still use it in the future fights. Its good that I did not show all the cards that I have in my hands although the system would definitely help me if I reach a get in a pinch.] Kris thinks to himself as the crowd fell silent after what he showed everyone during the match.

               “Dang, you really did not show him mercy. Did you both have a beef with each other perhaps?” Richard mutters as he stares at the people carrying Duke out of the platform. “We did have a beef. Sometime in the past, he wanted to attack me with something behind my back but thankfully I manage to evade his attack. This is payment for that. Though it looks like I overdid it this time. Having sixteen doppelgangers is not easy to control you know? Not to mention the amount of mana I burned after using that many spell at once. I may have improved my mana density but it still takes a toll on my head. Now all I need is a good old rest and cool head.” Kris said as he walk passed the other students who are still shocked.

               “Its definitely taking a toll alright, but still controlling that many doppelganger at the same time. You are a monster on your own. Even the heroes does not know how to react.” He added as he walks back. “Not only that he can control that many doppelgangers but also have them use spells at the same time. I wonder how did he manage to use them all efficiently it is as if all of them are controlled by different persons at the same time.” One of the heroes mutters after the match ended.

               He turns around and sees that the other heroes could still not recover from what they have seen. [If even the heroes felt pressure, I can’t imagine how the teachers are taking this. A student besting them in something that they do not even take care of, only a few teachers will be able to recover from this fast.] the hero wearing glasses says to himself. “Are you still analyzing what just happened?” he asked his colleague beside him, he female hero who uses her awakened ability to see through Kris’ mana levels.  

               “Yes, producing that many doppelgangers and having them to use a spell individually should have made his mana pool reach rock bottom but I guess that is not the case. How dense does his mana become? It did not even taken half of his mana. If my calculations are right, each of those doppelgangers could have used more than six spells more before emptying his mana pool which is nothing that a normal people can do.” The female hero said as his colleague chuckles.

               “Hehehe. If you really think about it, doesn’t he beat the master already in the matter of consecutive spells he cast in that short amount of time?” the female hero shook in surprise for only realizing it just now. “Now that I think about it, it really is. The consecutive use of doppelganger counts as such and the use different spells that those doppelgangers use that time also counts as such, that is not even counting the spell that he used alongside the doppelgangers. Thirty-three spells. That is an insane amount of spells at the same time. Should we tell this to the master.” The female hero asked but her colleague opposed her suggestion without hesitation.

               “That is not a really bright move if you ask me. That student is bound here by the headmaster and if the master knows or even learns of this, he will flip and will try to either learn from the student or make the student his own. You of all people know that master and the headmaster of the academy do not blend well together. It is as if they are after each other’s necks every time they meet. We don’t want to have a problem because of a single student.” He suggested which is easily received by his colleague.

               “Well, I guess we have to let the master learn of this personally.” She added and just as they are about to call it, the headmaster tells them to keep their hands off Kris and pleads them to keep this a secret from the master. “You all should know what he is capable of doing just to get what he wants. That is the sole reason why I hate seeing his face, he gives me the look that he can get everything he wants that a brat he is.” The heroes could not help but chuckle after hearing his from the headmaster, a fellow colleague of them in the past.

               All of the students could not have enough match for the entire day and plans to continue the individual matches the next day to let the students have a rest. “It was nice of them to let everyone rest. I honestly think that no one would be able to recover from the shock after what Kris did.” Jhonas said as he sits in a win and no loss. “I know right? I was expecting that he was going to create sixteen of them but the real question is, is sixteen really the max doppelgangers that you can produce Kris?” James turns to ask Kris.

               “I can definitely make more if I wanted but that is if you want my head to explode like a pumpkin.” Kris responded with his head swinging side by side after Luna envelops his head with ice and leaves his eyes and mouth and nose open. “You said that you wanted to cool your head but I never thought that Luna would take it literally.” Xia said while Kris continues to struggle. “Now, now Luna. I never did asked something like this at all. I thought you are going to punish the men that are after you but why am I getting punish for not even doing such thing?” Kris ask Luna who is not even interested in answering him.

               “I think Luna is just trying to help you in her own way. Even though its obviously over the top.” Jhonas tries to show everyone Luna’s good will, it was not enough to convince Kris who is suffering from brain freeze. “Now that’s just great. Luna, can you hear me? No everything is to be taken literally. Last time you froze my balls and not my other ball. Don’t tell me you are going to burn my balls next time.” Everyone laughs when Kris said this while on their way to the usual shop they go to for dinner.

               “Will it okay for the families who wants to meet him be denied of audience?” Inrad asks the headmaster after the competition is called for the day. “Yes, I have heard from certain someone that he doesn’t look like the type to entertain everyone. I get it that after seeing what he is capable of, most of the families will want to make ties with him. After all, having a connection or an even better relationship with a strong mage is good to maintain a good social standing in our society. But that student still has room to grow, if he wants to be strong, it would be good for him to have decided such a thing. Being tied down will only hinder his growth.” The headmaster explains.

               Inrad understands but does not immediately leave the room, the headmaster is surprised of his behavior since he is the type of teacher that immediately leaves after his business is done. “What is wrong? Are you perhaps bother by his growth?” Inrad flinched after hearing the headmaster. “Just as I thought. Anyone would be shaken after seeing such a thing occur. Even I was shaken myself. Humans tend to be shaken after seeing something unbelievable happen. Some will not be able to recover from it but there are some that does recover from it and improve significantly. That will be the turning point of their lives, it will fuel their ambition to be more and stronger. Be one of those people and you will see that you will grow. Instead of looking down on yourself, you can grow with him together. That is how mages are supposed to be, they should be an inspiration to other mages.”

               The headmaster smiles and looks at Inrad who seem to have recovered a little. “I’m sure that student have sacrificed everything to be that strong. I have heard that they have trained themselves all those times. We cannot deny that they have improved drastically from they usually are. That is what the other students should have done and learn from them. Yes, we are an institution that should help them grow but there are things that they should discover themselves and that is what they essentially did.  They did not dwell in what we taught them and instead explored some options and things that are best suited for them and it showed great improvement. That is the essence of us mages, the will to be different from everyone else and find what’s best suited for us to grow strong is what makes us mages.”

               Inrad takes it seriously after hearing what the headmaster said. “I will take it to heart headmaster. Thank you for the guidance.” Inrad bows his head generously and leaves with a smile and a light face. Is that okay headmaster? He does have some problems in the past but has that all faded?” Mephisto asked the headmaster. “We all have those times Mephisto, the dark times that happened in our lives that made us do some unthinkable things. We have been there, therefore we should give others a chance as the people had given us in the past.” Mephisto hears this but is opposed to the idea.

               “Lets just see what happens in the future. More importantly,  you saw that right? How he is able to use that many doppelganger at once. Did something strange inside him?” the headmaster nods his head and only stares to Mephisto silently.
