Brennan was riding next to me. It had been two days since Tarrin had come to my tent and told me my husband had been jealous. Two days of travel in silence with Brennan riding beside me rather than disappearing from sight. Two days of him helping me onto my horse, and then off at the end of the night. I didn’t know what to make of it. He hadn’t tried to offer another apology. He had said his peace, and he seemed to have decided it was up to me to make the next move. But, I didn’t know what that move should be. Like everything else that had happened, this was the first time I had been in a situation like this. Where I found myself with any power at all. Should I forgive him? Accept his apology, after the explanation Tarrin had given? Continue to refuse to talk to him? My brain hurt just
