CHAPTER THREE-OPERATION HAPPINESS I

Sitting at my small desk table, I’ve been writing things I want to do and accomplish in the next month; Go visit my parent grave, Skiing and sky diving, Travel to a new city, Going to Paris, eating all my favourite pastries and having dinner with the love of my life, Going car racing and taking my first cigarette, Having a cute handsome man disvirgin me and running away , Learning how to dance and becoming alluring, Becoming so beautiful men and women both die from such aura, Making sure to send a ‘f**k you’ package to my heartless siblings, Making sure in my burial everyone wears pink.
For now this is everything I want to do but right now I want to sleep , checking the time it was 3pm in the afternoon and decides its good to take a quick nap only to be disturbed by a pounding/knock on the door.
“who is that and what do you want!!”
i yelled out angrily so that the person on the other side can hear me and talk so I can go back to sleep
“Would you open this damn door or I’ll break it down”
yelled back my landlord as he kept violently hitting my door, opening it I asked
“What do you want”
I asked giving a serious look
“Well miss Lilith, your eviction notice”
he said as he threw papers on the ground as he smiled maliciously thinking I’d care about such rubbish
“You have one week to leave this place or you’d be arrested or you’ll warm my bed and I might be gracious enough to grant you a place to sleep”
the landlord shamelessly said as he stared at me with eyes full of lust and I inwardly felt disgusted.
“One week? Give me three days and I’ll leave and now please get out and don’t disturb me ever again”
I said rudely as I slammed the door in he’s face before another word could be said.
All these perverted men, ever since I started dressing nice and left my hair and eye colour, men who would usually see her and not even give her glance or give her a disgusted glance if she asked for help from them now all of a sudden they all want her now , well the attention is nice but they are disgusting and too perverted no way would she risk her self for anyone of them.
‘you’d be homeless in three days’ my mind reminded me as I thought of a way out of this, I was angry so I said three days and now look what I got myself into, well no going back now.
Looking at my little small space, I thought of all the night this pillow and bed had been my therapy, friend and also how many tears it had soaked, I chuckled slightly but I didn’t want to be here anymore and I can’t spend my last days here, and a sudden realisation hit me ‘ my friend Julie’
“Oh yes Julie!”
I said to myself happily as I picked my phone and called my long time college friend who I know I have been avoiding because she’s so successful and she was nice to want to see me one or two times but I kept declining because of my insecurities but not anymore
Maybe I can crash at her place till you know I decide where to next
“Hey!!! Lilith long time no talk, what’s up?”
Julie excitedly greeted me as I felt it has truly been long, two years since we graduated NYU and now look at us one is so successful her face is all over ads and i********: and even becoming a famous influencer on t****k while I just discovered I’m dying soon and want to do better for myself, life is so ironic.
“I know right?, how long has it been two years?”
I asked even though knowing fully well the answer
“Yup and I’m so glad to finally you reaching out even though it seems you’ve been avoiding me”
Julie said making me instantly uncomfortable ‘did she find out I was really ignoring her, impossible’
“ No I’m sorry, if I made you feel that way but a lot happened and you do know a girl has to survive one way or the other”
I said breathlessly hoping I made sense.
“yeah I get you girl, so tell me why was I summoned so suddenly, your highness”
Julie asked jokingly as I couldn’t help laugh at her antics at lighting up the situation
“Well, it’s quite serious but I want to leave where I stay, can I come stay with you , I desperately need to leave this house, town and place, please I’ll pay if you want that as well”
I asked hoping Julie agrees cause she’s the only one I can ask like this sincerely
“of course baby girl, I’m so excited to have you over and I can’t wait for your arrival, so when are you coming?”
Julie asked her voice sounding very expectant which calmed my worries
“In three days”
I said and I could hear her squealing as I drew the phone of my ear lope before I go temporary deaf
“Alright I’ll be prepping here as I wait your arrival, I’ll send you my location as well”
Julie said as we both said our goodbyes and the call ended.
Laying in bed I felt dazzled, I cant believe I’m finally leaving LA(Los Angeles to New York city) and in three days, I squealed in excitement

“Sir I have someone for you and you’d be pleased”
“U owe me a girl Julie and you better provide her before the auction”
“Yes sir of course”
“Better or else ....”
the line goes off as a scared but yet determined Julie stares from her penthouse glass window looking at the tall buildings of new York ‘I’m sorry bestie but a life for a life’
