Chapter 8: The Next Move Cassius's eyes locked onto Rory's as he pulled away from the kiss. He could see the confusion in her eyes, the uncertainty that made her hesitate. "I think we should take this inside," Cassius said, his voice low and husky. "The night is still young, and I have a feeling that we're just getting started." Rory's cheeks flushed, but she didn't say no. Instead, she nodded, her eyes never leaving Cassius's. As they walked back to the estate, Cassius couldn't help but feel a sense of triumph. He had Rory right where he wanted her, and he knew that it was only a matter of time before she surrendered to him completely. Once they were inside, Cassius led Rory to the living room, where a fire crackled in the fireplace. He poured her a glass of wine, his eyes never leaving hers. As they sat down on the couch, Cassius couldn't help but notice the way Rory's eyes sparkled in the firelight. He felt a surge of desire, a sense of anticipation that made him want to take things to the next level. "So, Rory," Cassius said, his voice low and husky. "Tell me, what do you think of my estate?" Rory's eyes scanned the room, taking in the opulent decorations and the stunning artwork. "It's beautiful," she said, her voice barely above a whisper. "You have exquisite taste." Cassius smiled, his eyes gleaming with satisfaction. "Thank you," he said. "I'm glad you appreciate it." As they chatted, Cassius couldn't help but notice the way Rory's body leaned towards him, the way her eyes sparkled when she laughed. He felt a sense of excitement, a sense of anticipation that made him want to take things to the next level. And then, as if on cue, Rory's phone rang, shrill and insistent. She hesitated, looking at Cassius uncertainly. "Do you need to get that?" Cassius asked, his voice low and husky. Rory nodded, her eyes never leaving Cassius's. "I'm sorry," she said. "I'll just be a minute." As Rory got up to answer the phone, Cassius couldn't help but feel a sense of disappointment. He had been so close to making his move, to taking things to the next level. But as he watched Rory walk away, Cassius couldn't help but feel a sense of excitement. He knew that he had Rory right where he wanted her, and he was confident that it was only a matter of time before she surrendered to him completely.
