Chapter 6: The Obsession
Cassius watched Rory as she followed him into the estate, her eyes wide with wonder. He could see the fear lurking beneath her surface, the uncertainty that made her hesitate.
But Cassius knew that he had her right where he wanted her. He had seen the way she looked at him, the way her eyes seemed to burn with a fire that he couldn't quite explain.
Cassius felt a surge of excitement at the thought of possessing Rory, of making her his own. He had always been a man who got what he wanted, no matter the cost.
And what he wanted was Rory.
As they walked through the estate, Cassius pointed out various pieces of art, explaining their history and significance. Rory listened intently, her eyes sparkling with interest.
Cassius felt a pang of surprise at how much he enjoyed her company. He had expected her to be dull, boring, but instead, he found himself drawn to her passion, her energy.
But Cassius knew that he couldn't let his feelings get in the way. He had a plan, and he intended to see it through.
As they reached the study, Cassius gestured for Rory to take a seat. He poured her a glass of wine, his eyes never leaving hers.
"So, Rory," Cassius said, his voice low and husky. "Tell me, what do you think of my collection?"
Rory's eyes sparkled as she took a sip of her wine. "It's incredible," she said, her voice barely above a whisper. "I've never seen anything like it."
Cassius smiled, his eyes gleaming with satisfaction. "I'm glad you like it," he said, his voice dripping with sincerity. "I have a passion for art, for the way it can evoke emotions and create a sense of connection."
Rory nodded, her eyes locked on his. "I know exactly what you mean," she said, her voice filled with conviction. "Art has always been my escape, my way of expressing myself."
Cassius felt a surge of excitement at her words. He knew that he had found a kindred spirit in Rory, someone who understood him, who shared his passions.
And he knew that he would stop at nothing to make her his own.
