The air pressed down on my skin, and my senses became more dull. Since returning, I'd drank glass after glass of whiskey and bottle after bottle, but it still wasn’t enough to stop my racing thoughts. Images of that little girl so many years ago appeared and blurred into the little thing’s face. It was maddening and had me questioning everything I thought to be true.
