Chapter 05: Matilda

She runs away, that's the only way she can do so that the Primordial Werewolf doesn't get her. She told her cousin everything about the red-eyed man and her cousin herself said that she needed to leave as soon as possible.
With her old car, Florina drives away from where she lives. At first, Florina didn't want to leave because she was worried about her cousin but her boyfriend Raphael arrived and the man told her that he would take care of her cousin. That night, Florina immediately leaves the house. Because she knew that man was looking for her, Florina never returned to that bar again because she might see him again.
Florina is sure that she has already moved away from the place where she lives. Until now, she is still thinking about her cousin but she is sure that Raphael will not abandon her cousin.
The road was dark and Florina could not see any houses. She is scared but she will get through this road. She heard a strange sound because the road was in the middle of the forest. But in the middle of driving, her car suddenly stopped. She tried to revive it but there was nothing so Florina just hit the steering wheel of her car.
"Stupid car !!. Why are you broken now?." Florina got out of her car with a backpack containing her belongings.
She's scared, there is darkness all around because Florina is in the middle of the forest. She immediately got her phone from her bag and she opened the flashlight. She couldn't stay in that place, so even though she felt some fear, she started walking. She needs to get out of that dark forest and find a temporary place to stay.
"Who are you? What are you doing here in the middle of this forest?" Florina stopped walking when she heard a woman's voice.
She turned around and an old woman appeared before her. She is wearing a white dress and holding a cane. Florina didn't expect that there were other people in this place.
"I need help, my car broke down. I need to find a place to stay in the meantime," said Florina to the old woman. Florina saw how the woman looked at her from head to toe.
"Why didn't you go back to your place? It's dangerous here in this kind of wild forest. What got into your brain and you got lost in a place like this?"
Florina didn't know what to say because the woman seemed to be mad at her and preached to her.
"I can't go back. I need to run away," The woman just stared at Florina after what she said.
"Come with me. It's dangerous if we stay here any longer."
Florina didn't know if she would listen to what the woman was saying. She even doesn't know this woman.
"Come on, I won't do anything bad to you. My house is near here, I'll let you stay for one night." In the end, Florina went with the old woman. If she doesn't come along and just keeps on walking she could get hurt.
They stopped walking in front of a small house whose only light was a candle. The old woman entered first and Florina followed her, Florina did not turn off the flashlight of her phone to give more light.
Florina sat down and the old woman went straight to making tea. The old man handed Florina the tea but Florina just stared at it, she was afraid to drink it.
"Don't worry, it's not poisonous. Drink it so you don't catch a cold." Florina followed what the woman said and she drank the tea.
"I am Matilda. I live here alone," the old woman said.
"I'm Florina. I got lost here because I was running away from someone," Florina said to the old woman.
After what Florina said she heard nothing from the girl named Matilda.
"So, you are a runaway mate. Until now you still don't believe in them." Florina was surprised by what she said. How did the woman know that she was a runaway mate? Is she a werewolf too?
"I know what your thinking, I'm not a werewolf. I'm a guard of this forest to help a lost person like you."
"Wait, how did you know I was a runaway mate?" Florina asked her.
"I know that you are coming. Many people like you are lost here and I need to help them."
"Maybe you can help me. Do you know a way so that they won't find me," Florina was desperate.
The old woman just shook her head. "Why did you run away? You are only making yourself suffer," Matilda seriously said to Florina.
"I have to save myself, they bring trouble. I don't believe in them either, they are just old tales."
"An old tale huh? If you don't believe in them, why are you hiding now? They don't bring trouble, you are the one who making trouble. He won't stop until he finds you, the time will come and you will surrender yourself to him."
Florina does not want to believe Matilda, what the old woman says is not true. She just wanted to scare her.
"I will not go with them, I will never be his mate. They should just go back to their world."
"Your mind is still closed about them. If you keep running, you will both suffer from pain.
What you did will be a waste if you just end up dying."
Florina was confused by what Matilda said. Why would she die hiding from that man?
"I'm confused. Why should I die—" Matilda didn't let her finish speaking.
"Your two souls have already met and if you keep running away from him. Your souls can't handle the distance between the two of you, you could die because of what you're doing Florina."
Florina doesn't know if she believes what Matilda said. If what the old woman was saying was true, she had to go back. She had to show herself to him.
