My heart was pounding in my chest, fear held me to the spot. I held my breath hoping Alpha Ryan and Luna Emily of the mountain forest moon pack would show me mercy as I stood before them with my unmarked mate mark who was bloody and bound in sliver chains. I could see his pain despite the wide smile he had on his face. " I alpha Ryan of the mountain forest moon pack sentence pack member Mark Shadow to death for his truly horrendous crimes against my family and pack." I heard growls and whispers coming from the pack behind us; they had thought he was getting off easy. I couldn't blame them, I had only hoped that they remembered that I tried to warn them about Mark and his murderous plans. Alpha Ryan turns to me as he gets ready to announce my sentence. " I alpha ryan" Luna Emily put a hand on his arm and whispered something into his ear while looking at me with sadness. "Banish rose evergreen from the mountain forest moon pack" He finished and everyone in the hall seemed to freeze, I could feel all their eyes on me. my breath came out in a rush, I was beyond grateful for whatever Luna Emily had said to him, it had spared my life. Two large men started to come towards me. Hunter was the first to grab my arm. He was the eldest son of Alpha Rayn, the packs future Alpha. Hunter was 6'2" tanned, strong and built by the moon goddess herself; his forest green eyes staring down at me with mixed emotions. Brad the packs next beta grabbed my other arm hard enough to bruise it. He was good looking in his own way with muddy brown hair and eyes to match. Brad was a couple inches shorter than Hunter but was just as built. Together they marched me past the pack members heading for the main entrance. I could hear the whispers and out of the corner of my eye I could see my beautiful mother begin to cry hiding her pain riden face into my fathers chest as he trys to comfort her. Alpha Ryan began to speak again as the door closed behind us and I could hear no more. Panic and fear started flooding over me, I had never set foot off our pack lands it was my home the only thing I had ever known. It was a beautiful forest sprawled out over the mountains with spring fed streams and fields of wildflowers dotted throughout the vast landscape. Hunter and Brad never said a word as they led me down the path away from the hall. I could feel Hunter looking down at me like he wanted to say something but never did. Hunter stopped outside my family's log cabin. Hunters voice seemd to easy the pain of banishment but only to cause me more. "You have 5 minutes to pack what you can carry" Hunter said as he walked up to my familys front door still holding my arm. Brads grip on my arm tightens if that was possible. "I don't think she should be allowed to leave with anything, not even her life after what she helped her mate with" Brad stated in a harsh tone anger filling his eyes. "I said she has 5 minutes Brad you can stand here and time her" with that Brad reluctantly released my arm and Hunter pulled me inside, I couldn't help but stare and wonder why he was showing kindness when I was just banished, punishment for my mates curl acts. I pushed the pain and wonder aside as I ran to a door off the side of our family room with Hunter on my heels. My bedroom was small and simple. Despite my being claimed but never marked I was unwanted by my mate and never moved out of my parents. "4 minutes" I heard Brad state from the front porch. I grabbed my backpack and started filling it with clothes a hair brush my great grandmother's journals and the unopened package that had been given to me from Luna Emily the night before. "2 minutes" stated Brad. Hunter hadn't moved from my doorway never taking his eyes of me as I quickly gathered a few things into my bag. The last thing I placed in my bag was my small photo album. Hunter took me by the arm and headed back to the front door; he opened it just at Brad said "time's up" Hunter nodded and came out still holding rose by the arm. Why in the hell was he letting her do this? wondered Brad but never spoken just turned and grabbed her free arm forcefully and started of the porch and back down the path. Alpha Ryan had banished her, she should have been taken to the main road with nothing and have the gate locked behind her forbidden to ever return forever rejected. I was positive she would be put to death along with that monster. I couldn't wait to have her locked out; I wanted to get back and have my part in that monsters death. it was going to be slow and painful, everyone wanted to see him pay and suffer. Ahead of me stood the low stone wall and a black cast iron gate. I was scared i couldnt face this world alone all I wanted to do was rip out of their arms and run back to my parents and the Alpha begging for forgiveness pleading with them to see that I didn't willing take part in any of it.That I had not known to the full extent what he was going to do. Luna Emily had said something that made the Alpha spare me, surly she must of seen the truth to my words. I could not move my legs; I was beyond scared. I looked up at Hunter staring into his forest green eyes silently begging him not to do this, my mouth like my legs wouldn't work. I saw the same mixed emotions as before but he walked on pulling me behind him. I was so lost in fear and panic that I hadn't noticed Brad let go of me to open the gates as Hunter basically pulled me out to the main road. I will never forget those stunning eyes. Click the sound of the gate shutting made me turn around in time to see Hunter and Brad running back up the path at full speed. No doubt wanting thier hand in marks death. I stood there, my panic and fear had me rooted to the spot as what had just happened sank in. I was banished from my home, the only place i have ever known. It may not have been the perfect life, being one of the few in the pack who has yet to shift and meet their wolf but it was my life. Screams of agony drift down the mountain side; the death sentence has begun. the pack was old school and the death sentence was rarely used. I had only heard stories from my grandmother, each member of the family would cut the guilty with a sliver blade 3 times and after that the pack had their turn until the guilty bleed to death but not before they begged for thier life. I listened until Marks screams faded and the sun started to set. I was grateful he was gone, no longer able to cause so much pain or hunt me down and kill me. It was then that it hit me like a ton of bricks. mark cant but the pack can. I started running I dont turn back now, I just ran as far and as fast as my legs would take me.
