Episode One
The Malcolm Family has been defending the people from the vampires for generations. They are known as specially trained generations charged by the majesty with the duty of finding and eradicating all supernatural and satanic threats. But the number of vampires continued to grow as the world involved. Monsters from the pit of hell, they were called. Unlike what was told in tales; they walk among us even in daylight. The only difference is that they are immortal. They laugh like humans and cry as they -breathe like them. And every single one of the vampires awaits the day when they will take their freedom back from the mortals, and so a day came when one of the two remaining supreme vampires rained down hell upon the entire family of the Malcolm- And this very vampire they called – VERGE. It has been decades since the incident and the two survivors of the Malcolm family still roam in the street of the new city in search of the vampire responsible for the slaughter of their family and also had turned them into one of the monsters they were birthed to kill. It was a late Friday evening. As soon as the Malcolm brothers stepped inside the bar, they began scanning the interior in search of their supposed friend, Harvey. They appear like those in their late twenties, both brown hairs, except that of Damien seems darker than the other. He was older, slightly taller and have more chiselled muscles. Sighting the male flailing his arms at them, both surged forward in the direction of the one waiting on them. “Hey man," Harvey let out as Killian the younger of the Malcolm brothers slumped opposite the male. “How long have you been here, Harvey?" Killian inquired resting his hand on the table between them. “Almost half an hour. You and Damien took forever to get here" Harvey replied “Well, let's just get to it." he mutters sitting up, "Something like the last time?" he asked raising his brow, while Damien made himself comfortable. “I won't be of any help to you if you get intoxicated, officer” Damien warned smugly with a malicious smile, obviously directing his words to Harvey. “I would rather leave you here than worry my precious being" he concludes before grabbing the shot in front of him and emptying the drink into his mouth. “We go for the usual I do say" Killian suggested not wanting to engage in the ongoing conversation "It's not like I do have a problem carrying you" he smirked glancing at Harvey who just chuckled. “You wish," he replied. “Bet you do wish too,” Killian said with the same expression. Harvey soon signalled one of the bartenders who immediately walked up to their table. He requested some beer and a different drink for Damien as he never liked beer. They poured their drinks into the tall glasses before cheering. The bar had gradually become a Friday night culture to them for the past few years, yet no one had any knowledge of Killian and his brother, Damian as one of the bloodsuckers except for the one with them. With the ability to sense other vampires in an instant, the Malcolm brothers had come to realize they were the only vampires who visited the bar. That was good news, right? Killian suddenly got sight of a male who sat alone at the far end of the bar drinking by himself. He soon became lost in their conversation as he kept looking in the direction of the male but the snapping of the loud cheering startled him from his reverie. “It looks like you went off for a bit there, is something wrong?" Harvey asked as he noticed Killian’s little absence. “Uh. No, no" he answered quickly and dismissively. He picked up the glass cup into his hand, sniffing the content, the familiar smell of lemonade masked by the clearly large dose of alcohol inside it abruptly reached his nostrils. He took a sip before dropping the glass back on the table "This is strong, really strong" he commented. “It's not like you do get drunk" Harvey snort a reply before he took a sip of the drink, wincing at its bitterness and then taking in more. Damien scoffs “It's to your disadvantage, 'cause you do probably get drunk, and sadly you will be driving home yourself. Breaking the law" he let out as if he felt pity for the law. “No cause for alarm" Harvey spoke "So by the way, what delayed you both getting here on time?" he asked, both of his elbows resting on the table with his glass cup swaying in his right hand. “We were following a lead" Damien responded. “Care to share?" Harvey asked tilting his head to the side as he raised a brow. “That would be later" Damien declined and sips from his cup, his eyes unrelenting until they met those of the male at the corner. He dressed so simply yet it looked expensive. Brown pants, a white t-shirt and a brown jacket over it. His wavy black hair was almost ten inches. He had two of the same bottle as Damien and a small shot. One of the bottles was already empty and the second was almost halfway through. “Excuse me," Killian said to the rest before picking up a shot and getting up as Damien made way for him. “Where is he going to?" Harvey asked pouring more beer into his glass cup. Although he had asked the question he seem much more relaxed. Damien gave him a nonchalant shrug "restroom, I guess" He replied. Harvey snorts "With a shot?" he queried casting him a confused look and Damien's cheek twitched up in a smirk. “Is this seat taken?" Killian asked the male on reaching his table. The male looked up at him “Nah,” he said allowing Killian to immediately sit. “Pour me some drink then" He requested freely once he settled opposite. The stranger gave him a confused glance before picking up his bottle and then pouring some drink into his shot which Killian gladly to a little sipped from it and then lowered his shot on the table. “I'm Killian, may I know what you are called too?" “And why?" The man asked not looking at him as he poured more drink into his own shot. "You walk up to a complete stranger and ask for their names, is that your job?" He asked adjusting back on his seat. “Oh man, see, you were alone so I thought..." “You thought I'm a lost puppy, waiting for mama?" The man cut in though doesn't seem quite offended. He was in control of his words even though he seems he quite glad of Killian’s presence, a gentleman with a touch of control if Killian was to say. “I don't think you get it..." The male vampire tried to explain but the man butts in again. “I'm Lucian, happy now?" He smirked with his right palm placed at the back of his head as he leaned against the seat. “Hmm" Killian scoffed "Here I thought for a second things were about to get ugly" he chuckled. "Nice name you got there," He remarked then poured the liquid into his mouth "it's the first time I'm seeing you here, Are you new in the area?" Lucian began to pour some drink into Killian’s shot "so you have been spying on everyone here" he says and then poured into his own shot "or is it stalking?" He said arching his brows at the other male. Killian chuckles at his words "I see where this is going" he muttered rubbing his temple as he leaned backwards staring at him. "So tell me why you walked up to me if not that" Lucian muttered before pouring his drink into his mouth. "Well, I will say it wasn't exactly it" The young Malcolm brother objected as he leaned forward to pick up his shot. "What do you think is going on there?" Harvey asked Damien occasionally turning around to glance at the two over the extreme. Damien took a peek at the two in the end corner before pouring the remaining liquid into his mouth then dropped the shot roughly on the table "I don't want to invade, Killian has a lot going on now. At least this will help release him from..." “Oh, Jesus. You don't have to write a whole essay just to let me know you aren't gonna spill. I'm not on duty” Harvey interjected. Eventually, Killian returned to their table and got seated next to Harvey before reaching out for some drink “By the way, who is that” Damien inquired giving him a knowing smile. “Not anyone you know,” Killian said and began to gulp down some drink, he frowned after he had taken a mouth of it “What is this?” he said smelling the content before narrowing his gaze at Harvey. “Damien mixed everything here,” Harvey told him. “And why didn’t you tell me?” “I’m telling you” he replied a bit nonchalant about Killian’s reaction. “So tell us who the guy is, and don’t change the topic again” “He obviously doesn’t want to talk about it mate, quit the pressure” Harvey muttered before gulping down his drink. “What’s your deal tonight? You were the one who asked first, don't make me look like the black sheep” Damien let out, forming innocent which wasn't new to Killian. “There is no need for the question. Not like you guys are gonna cross paths or something. I need another beer, this doesn’t go well with me” Killian said and moved the beer glass towards Harvey. Nevertheless, in less than two hours they requested their bills. Waiting for the bartender to return, Killian noticed Lucian getting on his feet and wobbling his way across the bar. Letting out a disgusted grunt as he barged past someone, the stranger pulled him back when he didn't make any attempt at an apology. With that Killian hastily got to the scene, apologizing to the stranger who just nodded and left. Lucian immediately swung his arm across Killian’s shoulder, weighing on him before wobbling his feet as he struggled to stay upright without the other's support. Casting Lucian a worried glance, which turned almost a panic when the male’s hand came to rest on the edge of a table and nearly knocked over some bottles in the process. The intoxicated male slurred something incoherent, more like an apologetic line. “Sorry about that" Killian immediately apologized to the table occupants pulling Lucian to himself and making their way to his table. “And what’s going on now?" Damien requested casting him a confused glance. “Lucian is drunk" he mutters leaving no room for further questioning and then he turned to Damien "key, please" “Who on earth is Lucian? A lame ass name,” Damien said raising his head to the brother who doesn't seem to enjoy his behaviour. Killian glared at him only to get a smirk. “You got him drunk" he slightly chuckled "you could have just compelled him if you wanted him—" “Damn it, Damien, give me the f*****g key!" he interjected, not being in the mood to contain his elder brother's attitude. "Woah! Hey hey!.." Damien cowered taking the car key out of his pocket and handing it to him. "Happy?" raising his brows as he gave that familiar devilish smile of his. Killian snorts "I hardly see how that's relevant" he mutters grabbing the key. “Hotel?" Harvey abruptly asked as he watched Killian trying to make the drunk male stand properly on his feet. “No... Home" "Oh common brother, that would be unfair to me" Damien nagged. "You are being so dramatic, further nagging would sound like the rambling of a paranoid" Killian said before taking Lucian’s wiggling hand, hanging it on his shoulder, and then clutching on his waist to keep the male from falling. "Tolerate him for tonight," Killian said to Harvey and with that, he began making his way out of the bar with Lucian repeatedly shuffling. “Should we place a bet on these two?” Damien suggested. “And why do you think am the right person to ask that,” Harvey said pouring the last liquid into his glass. “You are literally annoying” Damien muttered before his eyes trained at the entrance. “It seems no one told you how frustratingly annoying you are most times” Harvey sighed. “Consider me a burr in your socks,” Damien muttered with a noticeable smirk before he poured the last drop of his drink into his mouth. “Need to drain myself a little,” Harvey said getting off his feet. “Would like to see this bar standing in one piece when I get back” he shut Damien a stare and headed for the restroom. “Yes, officer,” Killian had managed to get to his car before assisting Lucian onto his passenger seat. “I’m trying to remember when I asked for your help. Oh, that’s right. I didn’t” Lucian blurred out. “I don’t get to understand your point,” Killian told him a bit nonchalantly as he tugged on the seatbelt. “Not the brightest are you?” He teased, eyes barely open. “You make me sick” “Oh, come on. We just met for the first time and you already gotten fed up? Uhm- where are you going?” the mere mortal asked once Kiilian shut the door and began to walk to the other side of the car. “This is the part where you need to shut the f**k up. I’m doing you a favour. You likely don’t even know where you are” Killian told him and turned the key in the ignition, then reversed before he finally drove out of the parking lots-And in the dark corner of the street, a male in a black hood stood watching until Killian’s car was totally out of sight. His face was barely visible only exposing his basalt jaw, yet he seemed dishier and his spartan shoulders spoke of strength. And with Killian’s vehicle gone, he turned around and disappeared into the dark corner.
