Yara's POV. Milo parked down the corner from the house in which the party took place. There were so many cars, I'm sure that it wasn’t just the students from our college that were present. "Now ladies," Milo opened the door for me to get out of the back. "If anything happens, for example, the police show up... Run straight back to my car. If the night goes smoothly, then this is where we will meet. That is if we get separated." He said, looking at Gina and me. "Hopefully we have a great night," I nodded my head in agreement to Gina. "Alright, let's go!" Milo waited for Gina and I to loop our arms with his before we walked a minute down the street to a house. There were so many coloured lights shining from every window of the building. So many people on the lawn of the property. Some sat on the veranda, others hung around on the lawn and the many black figures that showed in the house... this was a very big party. Then again, Stephanie is popular in college, no doubt she knew other people that were not in college. I saw so many people I had never seen before. There were familiar faces, most of them looked drunk already. Well, I, for one, will not be touching alcohol at all. Milo held us tightly and close as we walked up the veranda stairs and into the house. The music was pumping so loud that it was torturing my ear drums. "I need a drink," Gina shouted over the music. Milo nodded his head at her and pulled us both in the direction of the kitchen. It was so crowded there that I felt so many bodies touch my ass. I knew it wasn’t intentional. Hell, I also accidentally touched many asses just by following Milos' lead. It felt like forever before we got into the kitchen. Thank god there was more space in here than in the hallway we had just come through. "Ooh, fruit punch." Gina let go of Milo's arm and filled a red cup of fruit punch. "You want one?" Milo asked me as he poured himself one. "No thank you, is there anything that is non-alcohol?" I asked, Milo, placed his cup on the bench and walked over to the fridge. "Lemonade?" He asked as he pulled out a can of soft drink. "That'll do." I shrugged, taking the can from him. "I'm going to go out to the poolside," Milo said as he picked up his cup. "You girls want to come or..." I cut him off. "There are so many drunks, I'm following you all night," I whispered. I didn’t want anyone to hear me and take it the wrong way. "I'm with Yara on this one." Gina agreed with me. We followed Milo once again. Going out to the back where the pool was, there were many people but not as many as were in the house. "Hey, Milo." A male's voice called my friend over and both Gina and I followed him. "Curtis." Milo greeted him back as they did a manly shoulder bump or whatever men call it. "Wow!" His friend Curtis said. "You have scored yourself two beautiful women." He smiled, clearly eyeing Gina and me up and down hungrily. "No, no... They are with me, they are my girls." Milo said to him. He clearly read his friends' hidden messages. "You lucky dog." Curtis basically bellowed. "Come, you and your girls can join us, have a seat." He gestured for Milo to sit down and we followed. Gina sat on the inside and I sat on the outside. Curtis was, however, still staring at Gina and me, eyeing us up and down. He looked like he wanted to eat us. I felt so uncomfortable. I have never had any man look at me like that in that way before. I felt a shiver run down my spine. I didn’t know if it was from Curtis's stare or something else entirely. "Curtis stop looking at the girls like that! You are making them uncomfortable!" The voice belonged to Stephanie. "They are too womanly for you!" She added and he put his hands up in surrender, I was grateful for her words. "Wow, you really know how to clean up Yara, you look gorgeous." She added as she eyed me up and down. "Thanks." I blushed from embarrassment. "Look but not touch! Right?" Curtis said smiling. "Not to make you ladies uncomfortable, but you deserve to be stared at with your beauty." He winked at me and I felt my stomach churn with disgust. "That’s enough Curtis!" A gruff male's voice said, it sounded threatening and, for some reason, my whole body stiffened and my heartbeat pounded in my chest faster. I couldn’t help but look at the owner of that voice... oh my god... the sight was one I hadn't seen before. I swear the guy could pass as a god, his chocolate brown hair, coffee-brown eyes, and his t-shirt showed his whole body figure. He had muscles in places I wasn’t aware were even possible. I locked eyes with the guy that had told Curtis to stop what he was doing. I swear I have seen those eyes somewhere before. "Yes... " Curtis seemed to have lost his confidence as his eyes looked everywhere else but Gina and me. “As a matter of fact, go away.” The man said and Curtis left so quickly it was like he was never there. “Sorry about him, he has an addiction to women.” The man said. “Don’t all men do?” I had blurted out without even thinking. “I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to say that out loud.” My eyes were open wide with shock. While I thought of the worst thing that someone would say to defend men, everyone just laughed. “I guess you are quite right.” Said the man that just saved me from a total pervert. “Gina, Yara,” Milo said in the middle of us. “This is my big brother, Zander.” He introduced the guy. “Brother, these are my two best friends, Gina and Yara. Tell everyone that they are my girls.” Milo seemed to have given his brother some message with what he said. It made sense now, those coffee-brown eyes. They were Milos' eyes. He and his brother had the same eyes. Looking at Milo, he looked like he was in some sort of stare-off with his brother. They weren’t talking but their eyes seemed to be having a conversation from just a stare. I looked between them, not sure if this was some sort of sibling rivalry or… well, whatever, I was someone who didn’t know what sibling rivalry was even like. “Nice to meet you ladies,” Zander said as he reached his hand out and shook Gina’s hand and then mine. The second our hands touched, I swear I felt things go through my entire body. It was like tingles of electricity. I wasn’t used to a feeling like that, so I pulled away immediately. “Nice to meet you too,” I replied, confused about what I felt. Maybe it was just friction? I sipped on my lemonade, I now wished it was that fruit punch that Gina and Milo both had. Everyone was talking to each other and I only sat listening. I couldn’t really focus on anyone's conversation as I felt eyes on me. When I looked at the person that I suspected, I was right. Milos' brother, Zander, was staring at me. He didn’t even try to hide it from me and, by the look of it, didn’t care that everyone else noticed he was staring at me. I noticed that Stephanie was watching him as he watched me. Oh gosh, I hoped she didn’t like him, because if she did, she would hate me all because he was staring at me right now. So much for telling Curtis not to do what he, himself, was doing right now. I kept that to myself, I didn’t want to get him mad or anything. I didn’t feel uncomfortable with him staring at me as Curtis did, but I still didn’t like it. I shuffled close to Milo as I felt safe with him. I may have gotten too close, that Milo looked at me and as he looked around he noticed his brother was staring at me. “Brother,” Milo said, sending a glare at his brother. “Yes, brother,” Zander answered, but didn’t look at him. “Do you mind?” Milo asked while putting his arm around my shoulders and pulling me closer to him. The second he did that, Zander broke his stare from me and glared at Milo. At that point, I looked at my lap as I placed both my hands on it. “You do know your eye f*****g my friend?” Milo spoke rather harshly. My heart was racing and my anxiety level began to rise. I started to feel sweat rolling from my forehead. “I actually don’t mind,” Zander said, as he relaxed back into his seat without a care in the world. I watched him from the corner of my eyes but tried not to even look at him at all. “I’m sure she doesn’t either,” his last words startled me so that I fully broke my neck to look at him. “Well, she does!” My friend stood on the seat. “You just told Curtis off from starting and now you're doing it!” He yelled, causing people to turn and look in our direction. Zander stood up from his seat. “I’m not a pervert like Curtis.” He smirked at Milo. “Like that explains why you are eye f*****g one of my best friends!” Milo whispered to him, but everyone that sat near him or, was close enough, to hear his words. “So what are you going to do about it?” Zander asked challengingly. “Stop it!” Milo growled like an animal that was stalking its prey. I looked at Milo, and he growled. I looked around for an animal that could have made such a noise. There didn’t seem to be a dog hanging around. Just as I looked back at my friend and his brother, Milo connected his fist with Zander’s face. His brother stepped back from the impact but quickly returned the favour to his younger brother. I stood from my seat shocked that the brothers were fighting each other. Everyone else stood and got out of the way of their fight as they started rolling onto the ground. A few people gathered around the scene. I looked at the boys that were sitting in our group. They were friends with both brothers but didn’t seem to step in to stop the boys from their fight. I felt guilt rise in the pit of my stomach. This was all my fault, they were fighting because of me. Without even thinking through my plan or even making a plan for that matter. I ran towards the boys to attempt to stop them. Zander had just rolled Milo over and got on top of him as he punched in. Milo blocked his punch, which caused Zander to get angry and he began to pull back to hit him again. I took that as my opportunity to grab his elbow. “Stop!” I shouted, but the boys ignored me. Zander was way too strong for me to pull him back. Milo had managed to push his brother off of him. I flew back and landed on my ass as the brothers stood and continued to throw hits at each other. “Yara, let them be.” Stephanie practically shouted from behind me. Looking at Stephanie as I stood up from the ground. She stared at me like I was mad to even attempt to break them apart. Gina was in shock mode and sat frozen in her seat. The group of the brothers-so-called friends looked at me the same way as Stephanie did. While random people stood around enjoying the show, some even had their phones out recording the whole thing. I walked towards the boys again, ignoring Stephanie. This was my fault and I wanted to stop them from hurting each other because of me. “Milo! Zander!” I yelled, getting frustrated that no one else was even trying to help me stop them from fighting. “Stop it!” I added as I reached out to pull Milo. They both ignored me, they were more focused on hurting each other. The second I got close enough to them, Zander threw a punch which Milo managed to dodge but, to my dismay, connected me in the shoulder instead. Zander’s eyes went wide with shock, and so did Milo's. I heard a crack from the impact and couldn’t help the scream that left my mouth. “Yara!” Milo grabbed me and I sank to the ground from the pain. “Yara, I’m sorry!” Zander sounded panicked. Milo pushed him away and his brother didn’t attempt to take another step forward. Gina was by my side, her shocked state was no more. She was now in her panic mode. Her mouth opened and closed, she clearly didn’t know what to do. All she could do was comfort me. "Your shoulder is just dislocated," Milo said. He seemed relieved but the pain I felt did not at all feel relieving. "Nothing is broken", he sighed with relief. Without warning, he pulled my shoulder back into place, causing me to scream again. It did, however, feel better than before. Zander was no longer where I saw him standing, he was gone. I looked at Milo, he was still angry with his brother, but he didn’t hide that. "I think I want to go home now," I said to him. "But we just got here." Gina sounded disappointed, even after what she had seen happened...
