Chapter nineteen :She Is My Wife.(1)

Gabriel’s POV

I woke up few hours after we went to our rooms,it was already 7;30am,and I need to be present at the office by 8:00am,I knocked at her door didn’t get any response,i went down stairs and found her coming out of the kitchen,she was neat dress,her skirt fell on her top of her knees with a black sleeve,all this makes her looks sexy and professional but I would go with only professional.

“Good morning,is anything wrong with my dress”she asked as she packed three big food flask into a big lunch box.

“What are you doing with does flask,and this skirt is good but you need to change it”I replied using my hand to telling her to go up stairs and change,this night we’re having a wine party with some club who wants to host an event next month,they are womanizers and pervert,i can’t allow my wife dressed like this i front of them.In no time she came out wearing with longer skirt,white sleeves and her hair done in high bum,she now looks professional and beautiful.

“You don’t do makeup?”I asked as she came down.

“I do,we don’t have enough time..or should i?”she asked but I didn’t missed her smirk.

“No it’s okay,and where are you going with all these flask again?”i asked as she is carrying three of them.

“Breakfast,lunch,and we will be coming late,so the third is dinner,i have my dinner on time”she explained walking towards the door.yes she does.

“And the snacks?”I asked as we’re about to enter the car.

“What,I just need to chew something when am busy”she answered,really always eating!.

Becky’s POV

Seriously he asked me to change my cloth all because of some reasons i don’t know,now am wearing a black body cone skirt with white sleeves and he didn’t complain,concerning my makeup,Am not that bitchy summer who covers her face with artificial eyebrows,eyelashes,contact lenses and too much makeup top with luscious lips.

Now we’ve reached the office,it was a 24 story skyscraper,his office was the last floor and we’re going there by his private lift,i carefully carried the big food bag and my hand bag in the other arm,but how do you expect me to hold them all still we reached our destination,he gave his file to Samson and helped me with the food box,what a relief now am only holding my hand bag ummm.

He was the only one occupying the floor plus his secretary Annie,he introduced me to her as his wife which was the very first time i heard him calling me his wife,I tried not to blush but it just got worse when Annie called me Mrs Gabriel.

“I prefer you call me Becky,it’s more me than this formal act”i said smiling,she also smiled back,she seems friendly thank Goodness I won’t have to look for ways to make interactions with her,not that i like making friends just that i don’t want to give the impression that I’m as cold as my...husband hm.

Annie showed me my office which was close to Gabriel’s,Gabriel already told her why I’m here so she just have to give me the necessary information i need to know now.

Since there was not much to do this morning,i decided to have my breakfast when Annie caught me eat,she covered her mouth with her eyes wide open,i was just left watching her in amazement.

“Am sorry ma’am but you can’t eat during working hours”she said dryly.

“Oh he didn’t tell me that and i haven’t had anything this morning”i replied looking at my yummy sandwich and hot tea hungrily.

“Ha ha,you’re really hungry,but trust me the boss won’t like it when he sees you”Annie replied chuckling softly.

“Besides it 9:00am he won’t be back until thirty minutes from now”i said taking a big bite hoping to finish it before he returned.

“Just makes sure”Annie said before leaving.I didn’t know when Gabriel came back until my intercom rang.

“Can you make me a cup of coffee and bring me the files for the next meeting”he voice was calm but commanding,so this is how helping him looks like,making coffees and doing everything that he wants me to do,great!.

I knocked at his door before entry,he was standing in front of the floor to ceiling glass window looking that the beautiful A City from the high View.

“Ahem the coffee is here an these are the files for the next meeting in two hours”i informed dropping the coffee and the files on the magnificent polished table,too clean to be have a scratch.

“Thank you,have you eaten?”he asked walking towards me.

“Yes”i said sharply,i didn’t want to say anything about the company rules,cause i won’t follow them,i Can’t do my job properly when I’m starving,and those sweet snacks i brought along will not be making use of,so i to pretend like i don’t know anything about it.

“Okay....do i have any left?”he asked

Taking a sip from the coffee.

“ do you want some?”i asked calmly

“That’s means if there is still any left,Yes.”he replied walking back to his sit.

“Okay i will be back”i said leaving to go get the remaining sandwich for him.

Gabriel’s POV

“Wow this is yummy”i compliments thank Goodness she’s not here when i starts eating it,the sandwich was great in taste,each time i eat anything from her i am always disappointed with myself for insulting her cooking when i didn’t even taste it.

And for that question she asked me about knowing her was still on my mind,I wanted to do some search about her,but getting to her when we talk is much better than doing goggle search and that too on my ‘WIFE’ how ridiculous it sounds.

There is a see through glass at one end of the wall which was Becky’s office,i watch her every moves since morning,she kept her mouth busy chewing few cookies from time to time,she looked like relaxed and concentrated on what she was doing,I noticed that she was looking at the time always,and suddenly she brought out food flask from her bag and starts eating when Annie opened the her door.

Becky’s POV

Good God Am starving!,What says the time,12:00pm! Lunch time.I quickly brought out my lunch and starts eating when Annie burst into my office,I looked at she in surprise,isn’t it time for lunch?.

“Whoot”i asked with my mouth full.

“Really Becky,you couldn’t even wait for five minutes after twelve”she said smiling.

“You don’t understand,ever since my treatment,the drugs just drained my stomach,i just fill like eating every time so as to fill the space”i explained but she kept smiling.

“What,wait is the company against body weight,like if I add up a little or too much”I asked,cause there’s some cases when acting a role in a movie,you need to reduce your weight or add up a little,so maybe the same situation still apply for this company as most of the girls I seen this morning are all slim and having well figured bodied.

“Ha ha ha...seriously Becky,your husband is going to have a heart attack from laughter,you’re so funny”she said laughing holding her stomach.Really?,Gabriel would die from my funny talks,never.He is just as hard as a stone,and i don’t want to make him laugh either.

“Any way just take it easy with the food hm,i actually wanted us to go to the canteen,but you’re already eating so let me go.”she said excusing she self.

“Ok i promise tomorrow we will go together”i promised her as she left.

I continued eating but i felt like i was been watched the whole time,i looked up to see if i can find any camera,but there was non,as soon as i turned back to my food my eyes caught something,I slowly looked at the glass window in front of me and find Gabriel’s eyes on me,how didn’t i notice it?,it just occurred to me that i didn’t even look around the office,since I found the desk cleaned I just sat down relax thinking the whole wall was covered. For how long has he been watching me?.Been the actress that i have always been and that i am,i just looked back at my food and continued eating as if i doesn’t care,why won’t i care!,my head screamed.

In no time he is now in my office with his hands inside his pants pocket looking calm.

“I didn’t know you eat this much”he said sitting that the couch close to my table.

“Is there any chance of having a problem with that?”i asked bluntly.

“No,so you’re having lunch all alone and didn’t care to share with me either”he said,i think he’s trying to get into conversation that i am not really for.

“Ok you can order anything from the company canteen”i replied putting a cut steak inside my mouth.

“What if i join you?”he replied taking the spoon from me and starts eating.Since we’re at the office i chose not to make a big deal out of it,stayed quietly,i was busy with my phone while he continued eating quietly,how awkward.

“So do you eat all the time,like every now and then?”he suddenly asked putting the dish away.

“No it due to the drugs,i mean it’s medical drugs,actually prescribed.”I replied still focused on my phone.

“Ok,so what about we have dinner together before the wine party”he asked casually,like he has been doing it before.

“It’s ok,i brought dinner with me,we could have it before leaving the office”i replied looking at him,he had this indifferent look so i Can’t tell what he was thinking.

“Sure”he agreed.

“Am sorry sir,but miss summer is here”Annie said as her head was inside the office but the rest of her body was out.I pretended not to hear what she said and picked my phone call.

“Hey Greg What’s up!”i said as I recognized my old friend’s voice,i didn’t notice that Gabriel was still standing watching me until Annie gave him a worried look,i think the summer girl was getting impatient so he left half willingly.

“What happened to you,you forgot about me the moment you stepped on that plane”i said smiling,when i turned back to look at the glass window which is now covered with a curtain,really Gabriel?.

“So sorry and that i just have to do the things needed at that point of time,now I’m back why don’t we get along?”Greg asked,i can imagine him smiling as always,he was my very good friend back then in college when i went to study business,after graduating from theatre act.He was my best friend after Andy.

“So when are we meeting”i asked him.

“Why don’t you time the place,uh what say?”he asked

“What say if we go to the coast restaurant,you know old memories”i suggest.

We agreed on the venue and time,since i still have a lot to do,i quickly set to work forgetting that summer was still in the building.After five hours of sitting my ass down,stood up ready to leave but not without telling Gabriel about the wine party,since i am his acting secretary I have to attend as well,when i was about to knock Annie told me that he left with summer,she gave me that pitiful look like she’s sorry for my disappointment.

“It nothing you shouldn’t give that look,I already know,so just tell him that i Will be home late cause i to attend a wine party”i said with no sign of hurt in my voice,why should i get hurt?.

“Ok can i at least accompany you to the place?”she asked in a some what relief tone.

“No it’s ok Samson will”i replied walking away with my head high.I don’t have to pretend that we are fine in this relationship curse we’re not.

I arrived at the Chinese hotel earlier than the investors,so as to put things in order,it’s been two years i graduated from business college and this is my first time of applying the knowledge on any business issues,my parents really wanted me to take over their company when they retired,so i studied it just because of them and to have some free ideas about how things work in the world if business,i really wanted to be an actress,all my childhood days i have spent most of my time acting,in schools,church and even in some event where i have to perform for some occasions.I have always been that center of attraction,still dates,not many people know me as the daughter Of Nicholas enterprise.In C city i was nominated as the city most beautiful woman on two occasions,most of my life achievement was in C city,i only own some boutiques and charity center here in A City,which makes my identity some what complicated,not many persons know me in my home city and i great full for that.

Time went by and the visitors stars coming once the room was filled we all sat down,thank God Samson was here he stood by me all the time.

“Wow,I most say you’re beautiful”one old man with pot bellied said,even when his was still with another woman who gave me a disdain look,how shameless men are.

“I will take that as a compliment”i replied smiling flatly.

“Why don’t you sit beside me,uh to keep you warm”an other man said trying to move closer to me,I shot him a harsh look and he stopped halfway.

“Mister Owen,I believe we’re here for business so let’s go straight to it”i said coldly giving him a weak smile,the first man was mr Wright,a famous reporters who had drag many names of the other celebrities into doom.
