Chapter seven:meeting Mathew

Becky POV

It’s been three weeks after that wedding,and all I have been doing all days is sleep,eat,apply more makeup,walk round house doing nothing.How miserable can it be Andy has been busy with her work as an assistant to her Dad,hoping to take over when he retired,and me since I already resigned from my job,I am trying hard to get one,actually it’s ‘literally hard’ I am not so relax yet sometimes I just get irritated seeing Gabriel and summer doing their rubbish act in front of me,unbelievable right? but I make sure that it didn’t affect me,I mean how will it affects me when his not even my friend yuck.

Today is another day to do nothing,I was in the kitchen preparing cookies when I heard the door bell,I wasn’t expecting any one or maybe mom,no the cleaners might want t to do their chores,I quickly stuff some cookies into my mouth while running to get the door as the bell keeps on ringing.

“Hey i said am coming.....”I said openings the door,after which i ran back to the kitchen so as to remove the rest cookies from the oven.Even when the door was open no one came in,I placed the cookies on the table,and head towards the door when I saw a familiar face,but from where have I seen him,oh one of the handsome men who attended the engagement and wedding ceremonies

“Hello”i said dryly

“Good day...am actually here to wait for Gabriel”he replied awkwardly,I sensed he was worried.

Why wouldn’t he be when he is standing in front of woman who looks like an old hag,covered with baggy shirt and a loosed skirt,that is making me look like a grandma,and that too with a permed hair,honestly it a wig.

“Are you going to get in or just keep looking,I don mind if you do both”I said winking at him which made his eyes wide open

“Come I was just kidding”I said pulling him in,after shooting the door we heard straight to the parlor,I was literally going crazy for the smell of those cookies already I can’t wait to devour them.

“Am sorry,forgive my manners,Am Mathew,Gabriel’s good friend”Mathew said stretching his hand for a hand shake,i didn’t hesitate his offer as I seen to like him already

“And am Becky,Becky Brown,but just call me Becky please”I said a little angry.but I quickly masked it with a smile

“Here join me” I offered him some

“You know what why don’t you keep me company before Gabby comes,what say?”.

Mathew POV

honestly her request startled me,I never expected her to be so easily going.i agreed to stay with her,and she was the best talker that I have ever known aside Gabriel.

We chatted and laughed for minutes,I never noticed that the time was running so fast,I mean it was almost thirty minutes since I arrived and Gabriel was no where to be seen,we were planning on going to summer’s birthday party this night,some how I felt pity for woman sitting next to me.Why can’t Gabriel give her a chance,I agree she is not as beautiful as the girl in the photo that Samson showed us,but somehow she is beautiful at heart.

“Hey....you’re here already”Gabriel said as he and summer walked towards the two people sitting close to each other but his focus was on Mathew.Becky was the Becky she always was,she just took him invisible and was busy with her phone,Mathew was a little surprise but what could he expect,

“Yeah and I have been eating cookies and chatting,she is such a wonderful host”Mathew compliments,like the always, Gabriel payed no attention

“Holy time,it’s 3o’clock”Becky said as she stood up and rushed inside.

“Gabriel please go take what you came here for,so we can leave on time”summer said coquettishly,she also have her ways of doing things, “sure just wait here”he replied and went the same direction with Becky

“WOW,miss....”Gabriel said as he entered the room and saw Becky applying more makeup

“...who are you trying..or should I say were you flirting with Mathew? if so,just so you know Mathew May be easy going but you’re not his type.as someone who cares....I would enjoy seeing you go through heart break”Gabriel said as he gave her a smirk,Becky kept quiet but not for long,once she was done with her makeup she stood up with a smile

“Has anyone ever told you that you’re a joker,i mean can you hear yourself speaking....”she burst into laughter and left the room,Mathew and summer saw her laughing while she claimed down the stairs as soon as Becky reached the two people stood watching her with perplexity Gabriel also came down

“....did you guys hear what this man just said....”Becky asked pointing at Gabriel who was wondering what was funny

“.....he said that I shouldn’t flirt with you Mathew...ha ha..and that you’re not my type....I mean who’s not my type Gabriel? I am everybody’s type okay so you know” Becky said holding back her laughter and when she was finally calm she continued

“I don’t flirt,Mr Gabriel,I don’t have to do that as I am married,girls like summer has to do that...and one more thing you don’t know me so watch what you say to me”Becky warned coldly as she left the house.

‘Jeez she can switch modes too,Wow just like Gabriel’ Mathew told himself

“You all shouldn’t take her words serious she’s always this crazy”Gabriel said as he took summer’s hand and walked away Mathew followed behind still wondering what would Becky’s face be like with that heavy makeup.

Becky POV

“What did you mean by I can’t,this is what I was born to do”I asked the man sitting in front of me,I received a message from him a while ago when Gabriel arrived,asking me to meet him at the public park,he is the popular film producer ever in A city,mr Noel smart,I heard was is married but still have girls flocking around him,he is much older than Gabriel but money they say can buy anything materialistic,so with money and good body fit he looks every much young and handsome,he is not as cold as Gabriel but sure has his way around.

“I am not saying you can’t,all I am saying is are you sure you can do this”Noel asked seriously

“Am i capable of anything as long as it is with in my reach”I said still trying to convince him,we’ve talked some time ago concerning role in a movie which was supposed to act like a maid,but my chances of been seen in that movie was less,just twice in a whole movie! no way so I just turned down the job,not long I was later given a lead role to play,even if the movie didn’t make it to the world grossing movie,but is was well known in C city as one of the best movie of all times.i have been featured in more than twenty’s best movies,been home have changed a lot from me,I never was the indoor type but due to my makeup I have to stay at home doing nothing,not that am afraid of showing my face is just that I don’t want that jerk of a Gabriel thinks am doing it just to impress him,never!.

Now I am going to do what makes me happy,I don’t care what he thinks of me.

“Sir I am willing to do anything just tell me when to start,and I promise,I won’t disappointment you”I plead pouting like a kid

“Ok fine but this time you’re acting as a villain..can you do that?”Noel asked

“Really is that a question or a joke! I am a villain on my own,asked my friend”I said honestly,’or did I just lie’he’ hell no

“Okay than next week is going to be the practice,so this is your script......”Noel said pushing the papers towards me

“.....I am only giving you this chance Becky,and am not fully depending on you so for that reason I will look for other actress who will take your place if we find any forts in you,I hope you understand?”He concluded dryly as if the discussion was boring

“I hope you won’t find any problem,thanks very much”I said as i stood up to take my leave

“And sorry,are you on a current project now?”Noel asked concern

“No why ask?”I asked surprise

“Ah the make up actually...hope you’re not coming to work like this”Noel asked as he also stood up ready to leave ,I touched my face with my left hand when I noticed his surprise looks ‘what is wrong with him’

“No am not,and why that look on you face?”I asked somehow irritated

“I never knew you got married,and do i know who is this lucky man”he asked smirking

“Oh off course you do,and I hope you get to meet someday”I said quickly and left the park.
