It was the end of the day and Kai was walking out of school when he felt a hand touch his shoulder. He turned around. It was Tom. " Oh hey Tom! I wasn't expecting you to be here." Kai laughed with a smile. " Oh, I'm not getting the bus today, I'm going into town instead with the rest of the boys." Tom looked at Kai for a moment and began speaking, " Oh if you want I could ask them if you can tag along too!" Tom said cheerfully. Kai thought about it for a second. " Sure I'll go, I mean I don't have anything to do really." Tom smiled and ran over to his friends at the bike shed to ask if Kai could tag along too.

Kai looked over as Tom was talking to them and noticed Noah looked a bit dull once Tom mentioned the idea. Kai began feeling self-conscious and worried he would break their group up if Noah didn't like him very much. Tom ran back to Kai and he noticed the smile on Tom's face as he ran up. " They said you could come along with us!" Tom squealed happily. Tom was about to turn to get his bike from the shed when Kai grabbed his hand. " wait," Kai murmered, Tom looked at him, " Does Noah like me?" Kai asked quietly. Tom looked Kai in the eyes. " Of course he does. What makes you think he doesn't?" Tom asked, slightly confused and concerned. Kai took a deap breath, " When I first met him he didn't seem too happy about me being there, and when you went over to ask if I could come he looked kinda sad about it." Kai exclaimed with a tear coming to his eye. Tom looked at Kai sympathetically, " He likes you, I promise! It's just because your new he's being cautious...." Tom paused, "....after the last guy, Noah has been alot more careful and protective of us all." Kai looked at Tom confused. " What do you mean..., other guy?" Kai asked confused. Tom stared at the ground fiddling with his thumbs, " I'd rather not talk about it if that's okay." Tom said. Kai simply smiled and nodded at Tom.

They arrived at the shop and walked inside. " Shoot, I forgot to get money!" Kai exclaimed. Tom looked at him with a smile. " I can buy you something if you want. I have £20!" Tom said kindly. Kai smiled at Tom and thanked him. They walked around the isles choosing what they wanted. Once they had all paid, they got on their bikes and rode down to the field near Kai's home. " Oi lads! Pass me the ball." Tom shouted across the field. He looked over at Kai, " Aren't you gonna play some footie too?" Tom asked. Kai shook his head. Tom was distracted talking to Kai when the ball hit his head. " Jeeze guys, you nearly killed me!" Tom said jokingly. Kai laughed behind his hand at Tom getting hit. Tom noticed Kai laughing and rugby tackled him to the ground. " What do you say?!" Tom laughed while rubbing Kai's head in a head lock. " Sorry! I'm sorry!" Kai screeched, still laughing. Tom let go and they both lay on the grass laughing.

An hour had passed and most of the boys had gone home. Kai and Tom sat on the grass talking and began laughing at Josh as he tackled Henry to the ground. They were both rolling on the ground and Kai and Tom sat laughing at how stupid they looked. " These two are so funny!" Kai laughed. Tom began laughing so hard he fell down the hill. Kai burst out laughing and slid down the hill too. Everyone just sat laughing for a while and talking until Josh and Henry had to leave and go home. Tom and kai waved goodbye and sat together. They looked into each others eyes happily. " This has been one of the best days of my life!" Kai exclaimed joyfully. " I agree!" Tom chirped. Kai looked at Tom for a few moments, " Best bros?" Kai asked looking at Tom, holding out his hand. Tom looked at kai, " Best bros." He said grabbing Kai's hand and shaking it. Kai got a call from his mother saying he had to go home. " See you tomorrow," Kai said, smiling. " Seeya bro." Tom said. Tom waved as Kai walked away and smiled.
