My stretch goal of studying every night until the exam was foiled last night, for a very good reason. Fern's man, Mac, had to work late, so she and I ended up with an entire free night for just the two of us. We hadn't been able to enjoy a girls' night for quite a while because she's in a shiny, new relationship. When her beau is in town, she spends all of her non-working time with him. I can't blame her for it. Even though it's been a very long time since I've felt the thrilling rush of freshly blossoming love, I do remember how exciting and all-consuming it can be.
