CHAPTER 26: THE BIRTHDAY BOY...

707 Words
ADAM’S POV: I sat at the table with Dad, Flora, Mia and Sapphire. We talked to the guests and after completing the formalities, Sapphire and I are finally getting some time for the family. “You’ll have to talk to the Russian government if you make the procedure faster.” I nodded my head at dad’s words and took a sip of the apple juice as I and Angel drank Apple juice in events like this. I told Sapphire several times that she can always enjoy the beverages the way she likes. But of course, she doesn't want me to be the only one drinking water or juice at a party or a combination. It was already 11 and the party was shortly going to end. Thanks to Angel, I was able to look decent at the event. She let me sleep till late and I didn’t move a muscle as well, due to the lack of sleep I had for the last few days. Looking at the way she adjusted with Blacks, made me smile. She is a favourite of Mia and Sweetheart to Dad. “Now, it’s time for the last dance of the evening. Please put your hands together for the Black family.” The host announced and I looked at Sapphire. “You promised me the last dance, Angel. Come on.” I offered my hand and she took it with a nod. I don't know what the matter is but since she returned from the restroom, she had been a little less smiley compared to her always smiling face. She does not realise it but her normal face always has a small natural smile tugged on her lips. We walked to the middle of the dancing stage. “You okay, Sapphire?” I tugged on her waist, pulling her closer to me as I whispered in her ears. Her eyes went back to their normal shine as I saw her nod her head and lean over my shoulder. We continued our rhythmic movements as the song played in our background. After doing the first dance, tango and some dances with the other ladies and diplomatic people, all I wanted to do right now is take this Angel home and sit with her in my sweatpants, listening to her voice as he lays her head over my chest. I guess I have to wait for that a little bit longer. We greeted the few people who left the party after meeting me and we were finally getting ready to leave the place. Even though there was still a small crowd of paparazzi outside the venue. I securely helped Angel into the car and we left for the Address, Sapphire told the driver about. I've asked a few times about the surprise but every time I was answered with, ‘You’ll see at the right time.’. I don't know what the surprise is but I'm sure that is very simple and yet will be the best. We sat in comfortable silence until we arrived at Sapphire’s place. I was blindfolded by my beautiful girlfriend and she helped me into the elevator. As soon as I was unblinded, I nearly leapt out of happiness as I saw a table decorated with cakes made by My An... “Wait, Cakes? Why there are...” “Happy Birthday!!!!” I looked back but was stopped midway as Abel jumped on my back, screaming and clearing my doubts. “Happy Birthday!” I saw Mom and Angel looking at us and I held Abel’s knees to prevent him from making us both fall back. “God this is the best birthday party ever.!” I said and hugged Angel as soon as I got up. She giggled as I twirled her around. “Come on, it's getting harsh out here. Let's cut the cake and we will be returning inside.”Aunt Ana said and we lit the candles on the Cake before cutting the cake. This is the best surprise I can ever desire for myself. Celebrating my birthday with my twin brother. What else I would wish for?
