CHAPTER 41: THE REAL PARTY...

687 Words
SAPPHIRE’S POV: We never get tired of what we love and what is precious to us, do we? I think not. Cause right now, I have a feeling that this is what exactly what heaven feels like. It is the first time that I didn't cry on my birthday. Well, at least not in pain and grief. Even right now, when we are sitting in silence. Him messaging my ankle and me laying back on the sofa with my eyes closed. This is happiness. I ran my hand on my right hand, feeling the ring I wore just a few hours ago. “Happy Birthday!” I gave a start when someone screamed right beside my ears, nearly blowing my eardrums off. “Mother of Sweet Potatoes!” I shrieked and saw Adam trying his best to stop a good laugh that wanted to escape his pretty big mouth. Just a moment later I heard the boom of laughter from behind us, making us look at the culprits. As we did, I fell off from Adam’s lap and Adam stood up with a total furious look on his face. “Don’t you have anything else to do besides that screaming contest you enjoy every f***ing time I'm alone with Sapphire!” Adam fumed and took my hand to help me get up. I gladly took it and blushed as I saw Mom, Bella, Abel and Tony give us a mean look, ignoring Adam’s words all too easily. “Bella told me that the cakes of your engagement and birthday were the perfect definition of disaster. So, Abel and I took the liberty to celebrate the day with a better one's...” Mom looked at Adam to me and we both looked at Bella. Giving her a look of betrayal is not going to work right now, so well, we mustered up a sweet smile and gave her a forced thumbs up. “Charming, Bells. Keep it up and I'll stop saying that I love your wits.” Bella pouted looking at me and I elbowed Adam, making him wince. “Understood! You both are best friends. Don't have to remind me every time I say something that taunts your precious Bella.” Adam said in a girly voice making us all laugh and he joined us soon after. We talked about the party and told them how it went. After few minutes, mom and Bella bought out the cake they made for us. To be honest, I was glad that they did cause the cake I ate at the party was the exact opposite of what I told Flora to make it. The flavours in the cake were the perfect combination of Sapphire plus cake is equal to puke. But I'm so glad that Bella noticed it and was out of the party as soon as rings were exchanged.  I did miss her but we both know that she also wasn’t happy about how Abel wasn’t going to attend any of his brother’s functions. Sure they gifted us with their blessings and some small gifts that were more than precious to me. We all ate snacks and played a few board games before mom scolded us for waking her up for the third time.  After we insisted mom stay back with us for the night, we were continuously shouting and screaming at each other but as the guest room wasn't soundproof, she wakened up for the third time tonight. I told her to take my room and she finally agreed after the third time. Soon after, the dress that I wore was a complete mess to the sitting and messing around. “I think I should change. You'll stay here, I'll be back soon.” I smiled as Adam nodded and walked up to my room. “You have your family, dear. You just have to make some strategic ways...” I saw mom sitting on the bed as I walked out of the walk-in closet, wearing Adam’s t-shirt and shorts.
