She dreamed
In the beginning, there was nothing but the Source. The Source would be the birthplace of the Twins. Order and Chaos. Both beings were powerful and yet powerless to stop the coming tragedy. Chaos the red-headed goddess of creation loved nothing more than to watch as worlds formed and life in the sprang into being. Order the silver-haired god of destruction liked nothing more than to bring order to worlds he felt grew beyond what they should.
This caused friction between the pair. They at first just bickered over what to do about life but slowly it came to be a war. One that Chaos would not walk away from the whole.
Chaos stood on the battlefield her eyes glowing with power, her hair flying around her, and her generals by her side. Order stood opposite her.
“Sister stop this!” He cried. “There must be order to the universe!”
“Forgive me brother but I cannot allow you to wipe out such precious living things only because they don’t fall into your order.”
Her eyes were brimming with tears. This was not how she wanted this to end.
A cry went out and the battle began. The fighting was all around minor gods and goddesses on both sides fell as the battle raged around the Twins. At last, this would be put to rest to the victor goes the spoils. Order’s sword clashed with Chaos’ shield sending waves of cosmic power radiating outward. Chaos pushed back throwing her brother off before taking a stance to strike with her staff.
Only the Source knows how long the Twins danced. Blocking, striking cutting dodging. Their hearts are not truly in the fight.
The slimy underling that caused the Shattering of Chaos didn’t survive the war but his work was done before the blade took his life. Order fell to his knees and took his sister in his arms. She smiled as parts of her being were floating away like a backward crystal rain. “Don’t cry for me, Brother, for I will live many lives among many worlds. “
Order watched as his first companion floated away. He resolved to watch and only watch as the worlds formed from this point on in hopes that one day his sister would be able to return to him.
