I was awaken out of a surprising slumber, by someone shaking my shoulder. It wasn't a gentle shake, more of a hard and rough shake. I let out a low growl, but sighed as I yawned and stretched my arms over my head. Once I had gained my vision back, I looked over to see an older man who appeared to be in his late 30's to early 40's peering down at me with a small smile. He was the one who had woken me up. I raised my eyebrow at him and he chuckled and said "you and the young miss beside you are the last ones on here. We just arrived here in Little Rock." I thanked him and watched him leave, before wakening up my sister and telling her we landed in Little Rock. Eventually we got off the sinking bus, and headed inside the bus station, where we easily located the restrooms. Once we were done with the restroom, we found our way to some little burger joint and got us some food. After Adele had payed for our food, we made our way towards a spacious table near some windows and sat down. We would be staying here for two hours, due to an overlay.
As we were in the middle of our food and in deep conversation, we were stopped by my cell phone going off. I answered the call on it's third ring "hello?" Adele tilted her head, an indication that she was listening in, but her eyes were roaming around the busy station. She was watching. Roman spoke oddly wary "Z, how are you? Where are you? Is Adele near?" I swallowed a few fries down "we're at a bus station in Little Rock, for a two hour layover. Eating food at the moment. So far we're fine, no incident of any sort, why? Ro what's going on?" Before he could answer Adele shot out of her seat and ran towards a small child, who was cowering behind her mother. I could hardly hear what Roman was saying, due to the startled outburst within the station. My eyes took in the entire scene, a woman was standing in front of her child, yelling and screaming at a small group of men and women. Out of instinct I inhaled the air and caught their scents. Hunters. Here in Little Rock. Though it doesn't surprise me. Adele's voice suddenly rang through the entire building "what's going on here? Can't you see that you're scarring this mother and her young child. You lot need to leave now." I was standing up and continuing to watch this scene unfold I all but snarled into the phone "you'll have to repeat that Ro. There's a group of hunters here harassing a young mother and her child, Adele is already trying to take the upper hand, but it doesn't look good. I need to help her. Just be sure your men are at the Reservation on time. We'll be there at the end of the week at most." My sister had taken down one man and woman who had tried to get to the child, I immediately moved behind the small group of hunters as they jumped to attack Adele, the mother and her child. To say the second woman spun around and swiped her hand across the air, trying to cut the side of my face with the potion coated blade in her right hand. I easily dodged her assault and send her into the group by kicking her in her stomach. I linked my sister "get the mother and child out of sight. I'll take care of this group. Find out why the hunters were assaulting them." Now that I had the full attention of these hunters, I quickly lead them outside and to the backside of the station, where we continued to fight. Fifteen minutes later I walk back into the station and scan the area. Once I find my sister standing near the mother and her child, I made my way there. Blood seeped through my shirt on my left shoulder, but I was okay. Adele spotted me, before I could see her and ran towards me, jumping into my arms and her worried voice flooded my ears. I hugged her back and told her that I was okay, but she still worried over me about my wound. I simply grinned and said "can't leave a battle without any wounds, now can you?" She didn't say anything else on the subject, but instead turned out conversation towards the mother and child.
I later found out that the mother and child were on the run; much like us, but they weren't apart of the supernatural. The mother was simply human, as was her child. So why would the H.A.A. attack an innocent mother? This only made my blood boil more and my anger grew higher. We needed a plan and a good damn one. Adele and I boarded our next bus to Cheyenne, Wyoming and luckily these seats were much more spacious and comfortable. We settled into the very back of the bus, which gave us both the advantages of searching for any hunters. Adele settled with her headphones and MP3 player and a book, while I stayed fully focus on the bus. My shoulder throbbed and ached, but luckily the bleeding had stopped a half hour ago. I know that I still needed my wound cleaned, but I would worry about that later. My body wouldn't heal completely since I had of aortic poisoning in my system, I'll have to get one of Romans' people to check it out. When I deemed it safe enough, I willed myself to curl into my seat and lean my head against the window for a nap. Moments later I felt a soft blanket being draped around me. Adele has covered me with a blanket. A few hours later, I had awoken by myself and took notice that the sun was about set and the moon was making herself known. I nestled back into the blanket and closed my eyes again. I was once again brought out of my slumber two hours later, by Adele. She smiled and said "welcome to Cheyenne sister. Come along let's go get us a cab so we can get a hotel." We follow the other humans off the bus once we gather our bags and head over to where some of the cabs are lined up. Adele darts over to a stand and picks up a few magazines that have hotels in them, before she comes back and we get into a cab. She decided on a nice hotel and we tell the cab driver and soon we are off and driving away from the station. When we get to our destination, Adele pays the driver and we head into the hotel. I'm not sure how long we are staying here, but I know we both need the rest and a shower.
