A Fight For Love?

Dakota's POV

I woke up in a strange room. I got up and looked around until I heard the door click. "Madelyn!" I ran to her and hugged her "Are you okay Madelyn? Who brought you here?" "I'm alright Dakota, and Kai and Xenon brought me here, Kelpie showed up yesterday so you don't have to worry about her." "That's good but we should get going." Madelyn didn't say anything. "Madelyn?" "Hmm?" "Do you even want to leave?" "Um yea sure we can leave soon but first come eat breakfast downstairs." I followed Madelyn downstairs unto the kitchen.

Madelyn's POV

Dakota followed me making small talk until he froze when he saw Kai and Xenon. They just glared at each other. I just stood there awkwardly not knowing what to do until Kelpie came and rubbed her snout against my hand. "Madelyn why don't we eat now?" "Your right Kelpie, come everyone lets eat." I said with an awkward laugh. I'm pretty sure Kelpie could also feel the tension, but I was grateful she was able to help a bit with that situation. We all just sat down and started eating Dakota was sitting to my left and then Kai and Xenon were sitting in front of me. No one spoke a word the whole time. I kind of just wanted to shrivel up and escape the situation.

Kelpie's POV

After scarfing down my food I decided to try and get Madelyn out of that tense situation. Its clear the boys hated each other but they wouldn't say it, at least not in front of Madelyn. "Hey Madelyn, would you like to go for a walk in the forest?" "She looked at me and smiled "Of course, lets go now!" After we got outside Madelyn sighed "Thank you Kelpie I felt like I was going to die sitting in the middle of that." "Of course now, race ya there!" I bolted and Madelyn laughed, following behind.

Madelyn's POV

We ran deep and far into the forest, when we got near the end we saw a heart breaking sight. There was Lana laying cold on the ground, an arrow in her heart with one of her hands wrapped around it. Kelpie and I walked to her and knelt down by her body. I put my hand on her chest as Kelpie put her paw on head as we both said our final words to her. After that we left with no words said to each other, We needed our final words to reach the heavens so we had to be quiet whether we wanted to or not, but it was clear that she did that to herself. I felt horrible but knew she was happier and that she was with Everest. So I had no doubt she would be taken care of in the after life.

Dakota's POV

After Madelyn and Kelpie left I started walking out the door when one of those idiots said "Just so know Madelyn will be ours, you can't compete." That just irked me, but I continued out the door. Who did those pricks think they were saying that? It was whatever. While walking in town I saw Madelyn and Kelpie approaching. "What's with the long faces?" "Well we found Lana but she wasn't breathing, and we wanted our final words to reach her so we had to be quiet." "She's really umm..... dead?" Madelyn nodded her head yes. I didn't have a comment on it I just wanted to forget it because I feel like I could have prevented it but she was with Everest so I knew she would be much happier.

Kelpie's POV

We just left that subject alone for the rest of the day and went back to Kai and Xenon's house and throughout the rest of the day Kai, Xenon, and Dakota all just kept hitting on Madelyn. I don't know what happened while we were gone but something must've been said because they weren't doing this earlier and poor Madelyn seemed so uncomfortable anytime they tried to flirt. Once it was time for bed Madelyn grabbed Dakota and told Kai and Xenon that he would sleep in the room with her. They just gave Dakota a death stare and I could see they were definitely jealous. But I remained Quiet and followed Madelyn upstairs. When we got upstairs in the room Madelyn looked at Dakota and just started asking what they said to make him try and flirt with her and why they were hitting on her too. The mans face was flushed as he was trying to apologize for that and trying to explain without giving to much detail. I was so over him talking I curled up in a ball in the corner and drifted off to sleep.

Madelyn's POV

After I quit questioning Dakota's antics I realized Kelpie was already asleep in the corner so I grabbed a Blanket and Pillow and put them down by Kelpie and curled up and slept on the floor with her. When I woke up Dakota was cuddling me while I was hugging on Kelpie. I was so warm I didn't want to get up so I just stayed there cuddling and petting Kelpie until she woke up. After getting up we went downstairs to start making breakfast. But Kelpie decided she was too hungry to wait for me to cook so she stole the bacon and ate it raw, "Kelpie I was gonna cook that!" "Sorry but I think it tastes better raw." "Wow is that an insult to my cooking?" "No of course not! I love your cooking but you forget I've grown up eating everything raw!" "I realize that I was just teasing." She sighed "You say it so serious though!" "No you just worry to much Kelpie." She huffed and just went and laid on the couch. Next to come down the stairs where Xenon and Kai. While passing by me Xenon leaned over and kissed me. I stood there in shock and didn't know what to do so I just walked to the couch and laid down with Kelpie trying to process what happened.
