*Honk Honk*
I made my way out the house to a loud Connie. “Come on you sexy b***h! Party a waits!” I shook my head while Connie yells out of Mason’s car. Knowing by now, Mason has had it with her.
“I’m coming geez!” I yelled back.
I hop in my regular spot, the passenger side. I can assure you, there’s a reason why its mine and not Connie’s. Example one, she doesn’t respect the driver’s boundaries. She has road rage and will get you arrest or beat up.
“Let me guess, you had a energy drink before coming?” I snicker at her. Mason shook his head and answer for her.
“No, she drank 2 large glasses of wine before getting in my car.” Connie only shrug her shoulders and giggle.
I wanted to bail on tonight’s party but with Connie’s mood after her birthday. I knew it was best to suck it up and join them. “I see you’re still upset, huh?” I asked Connie.
“Don’t even. I’ll set us all on fire.” I couldn’t help but tease her more. She got a fire manipulation gift. And with her wanting to be a healer/nurse. She has no clue what to do now.
“Ohh please do. Maybe it will save us all from having to deal with drunk Connie later.” Mason gasped. He sound serious but I knew he was joking.
“Don’t taunt me WOLF BOY.” Connie snarl back.
“God I love you guys.” I whispered.
Before they can start arguing Mason makes a phone call. “What!!” A wolf man roars through the car’s speaker.
Connie mucks the guy and I couldn’t help but laugh at her facial expression. “Just making sure you’re not bailing on us.” Mason said while rolling his eyes.
“No! I’m almost there anyways.” The wolf said.
“Good, the girls and I will see you in 20 minutes.” Mason gave me a wink when I whisper if that was the Alpha. And then he just hang up on him.
“Well damn, why he so mad for?” Connie still giggling in the backseat.
“Nah he’s cool. All Alphas are like that.” Mason said.
“Is he going to be all ALPHA like all night?” I asked, wondering if I have to be around a hot head.
“No, he will be cool. I promise.” I raised an eyebrow at him. And he glare a smile. “Trust me, you two will get along great.”
Mason took one hand off the wheel and squeeze mine. “You just promise to be open minded and have fun. Right?” He asked and I wanted to argue about it. But figure to stay in old happy Liv mood.
“Yes Mason.” I squeeze back.
We spent the rest of the drive chatting away like old times. Took us longer to get there when Connie had us stop by a gas station to pee. Then I went in and Connie was walking around the place looking for a snack. I shook my head and just grab her some donuts to share.
“f**k girls. I almost called a search party for you!” Connie flick him off and I kiss Mason’s cheek.
“Relax, we have small bladders.” Mason huff and continue to drive us to the woods.
See these parties are hidden far out so underage kids can do s**t they’re not suppose to do. You know, drugs, s*x, drink. What made it crazier, is there’s college kids who like to hook up with the high schoolers. Don’t do the math or think about it. They like the younger girls and s**t. On top of that, these parties always have a code to whom going to be there. There’s just these text that state if its only for certain people or if everyone was welcome. And todays code means, everyone is there tonight.
Parking up, Connie jumps out to fix her sparkle tub top. She keeps her look simple but cute. She was in the mood to hunt down a rebound and her outfit fits. For Mason and I, anything beside pj’s and sweatpants will work.
“Ready?” Mason asked. Connie and I nod and made our way up the hill.
My anxiety started to hit once the music got loud and the crowd came to. I started pinching my skin until Mason grabbed my arm. “Hey, if this gets to be too much. Just tell me. We’ll leave right away.” He whispers.
I just smile and shook my head. “No, I made a promise. I’ll meet Travis and have fun.”
Oliver eyes glows and purr at me. “You sure?”
I caress his face and smile. “Yes. I’m sure.” We continue to walk until someone pulled my arm.
My heart jumped out my chest but calmed down once I saw a classmate. “Oh no way! You’re really here?” She yelled.
“Yup. Party Liv tonight.” I bit my bottom lip and nod.
“Girl you have to have some of these new drinks with me.” She hands me a red cup with something in it.
I raise my eyebrow and reminded myself to just have fun. So I drank the cup and had fun. After a while Connie came and join guys. It really started to feel like old times. I forget about all last year and lived in the moment that I’d missed. God I use to come here all the time. I use to be fun but then things change so quick. But whatever, I’m not thinking about that right now. I kept drinking and dancing with my girls. I honesty miss these things. I might start coming back.
Then Mason called Connie’s phone, asking where we were. I was a bit buzz and can only hear the music. So I have no clue what else Mason asked. “Come on, the boys are waiting for us!” Shaking her head at me.
“Okay, let’s go!” I yelled back.
“Girrll, Mason’s Alpha is so cute. You gonna love just the sight of him.” She fake melted and I rolled my eyes. Connie had a good eye on the boys but I wasn’t looking.
“We’re here to just say hi and party. Mason will kill us if we flirt with him.” Connie pout at me. And I fake pouted back at her. “But a dance or two wouldn’t hurt.” I tease her. She gasp and bear hug me.
“Mmhh imagine those strong Alpha arms all over your curve body.” She tease me.
We laugh all the way to where she said she left the boys. Supposedly she was with them and left to find me. But forgot once we started drinking. Classic Connie, always getting distracted. This time, it was my fault though. I made her dance and then pour my half almost empty cup down her throat.
“So where are..” I stop once this divine smell of roasted cinnamon hit my nose. It was sweet and fresh. My mouth watered up with its scent. I search for its goodness, wanting it more than anything. It calls me. Then I met contact to the smell and another one hits me even harder.
“Mate?” I whispered to myself. My heart dropped once I scented his wolf side.
Right away my flight mode hit and I ran into the woods. I couldn’t wrap my brain around anything. Even in the inside says to stop and face him. To grab a hold of his closeness and drawn myself. Just the thought of him and I scared me over all. A moral image of reality hit me quick. Knowing something like this can never happen. Even if I wanted to, he wouldn’t choose me. And getting hurt once again wasn’t a pain I can deal with. Not after a broken heart. I can’t. He doesn’t want me anyways. This wasn’t a desire he would need or want. It’s not me. I can’t be the mate he would want.
The smell never left, so I knew he had followed me. I try losing him but he seemed to get closer. “Please Goddess. Please don’t do this to me. Please.” I beg her.
I didn’t want to get attach again, only knowing I’ll get hurt. The smell slowly went down, and I stop by a huge tree to catch my breathing. I looked around to make sure I didn’t see his glowing eyes or anything. “Ohh thank God.” But then right when I thought I was good, I heard a loud growl coming and I turn to look instead of running away.
Stupid, stupid Liv!!!
A huge muscular body pin me to the tree behind me. “Mate.” He whispered.
His scent smelled like warm sweetness. My insides melt with pleasure for him. I wanted him so bad. My body dig back and he leans in. I fought to not touch even when every fiber of me wanted to. I hated this weakness he had for me already.
When I turn to met his eyes, they glow and I thought his wolf might crave into me. And my whole body begins to sweat more under pressure. I know he can smell me too. His wolf can tell how I am feeling even if I hide it. But I don’t care. I had to stay strong and hope he just leaves me. Just walk away right now. Don’t kiss me, don’t touch me, don’t breath down my skin, don’t say words that can blur me forever. Just leave me be. Please just don’t reject me tonight. Don’t give in. Just stop everything as if this isn’t happening. Just don’t.
I held on to the tree and closed my eyes. A bit scared he might smell my pathetic witch side. I knew what he must be thinking. “Don’t.” I whisper.
I didn’t want want him to assume the worst and reject me on the spot. Honesty I don’t what to assume anything? I never wanted to find my mate. Knowing it was useless for years. And now after a break up that shattered my heart. Here I am again, about to be shattered again. I didn’t want to find him period. This can’t be happening?
He lean in and oh lord his body felt so warm. I want to touch him but knew it was a bad idea.
“You don’t want me.” I said lowly. He will know soon enough how better off he is without me as a mate. Beside that, i’m a witch and he’s a wolf. Not just any wolf. But a f*****g Alpha. The biggest sign telling us we can never work out.
He brought his head to my neck. Feeling his breath against my skin. It made my knees weak. Little tingles that hard hits my nerves. “Mate.” He said again. He was ignoring my pleads.
“It’s wrong.” I cried out.
Can he not tell how wrong we are for each other? How wrong I am for him? He needs a wolf mate, not some stupid witch like me.
“Don’t, just don’t.” I said again.
Feeling a spark run through me once he touch my body. I fought the urge to open my eyes. Every little breath lit me, gave me thrives. It scared me over the pleasure like feeling inside. I can’t dream of hope when pain marks the spot. This would all end in pain. We wouldn’t make it. All my fears ran through my head, all the hurt this bond will only give us. I didn’t want him hurt if he accepts me. I didn’t want to give in and have him hurt me either. I was scared for all the possibilities for us. One joy for us can lead to many pain in the end.
I felt him trying to calm me down, it worked. My dumb ass reacted to him. And then he lift my chin to wipe away the tears I didn’t know was running down my face. And for a small second, I thought how nice it will be to give in just this once. Maybe I can, and still walk away after this. One taste wouldn’t be so bad, right? I thought maybe he will kiss me. He might enjoy the taste of my lips press against his. So I lean in and his warmth, his scent, all of him.
I open my eyes very slowly to see myself all alone in the woods. He was gone, he left me. I was confuse, hurt and happy. “God Liv, what the f**k is wrong with you.” I cried.
I fell to the ground, digging my nails into the dirt. With this pain I let a silent scream take over me. My breathing got heavy as I try to not relapse again. I needed to just breathe and ignore the razor pain that hit my heart when I open my eyes and saw him gone. A rush of leaves was heard, as my hands glow and I allow a small scream was let out. I stayed there until I felt good enough to leave. That’s all I wanted to do now.
Just leave.

Mason
I dropped off Connie’s drunk ass to the car. Knowing it was time to get the girls home. Plus, Travis just mind-link me, demanding I take care of the girls. It was a bit odd but okay.
“Do you think he found Liv?” I asked Oliver.
“I don’t know. Maybe.” He was just as confuse as I was.
I mean, before I can introduce them. The both of them head off running. I thought something was wrong with Liv and Travis was just trying to be nice and looked out for her. But then he tells me to take care of them and how he’s leaving. “What the f**k man.” I whispered to myself.
Right before I can search for Liv, I see her coming down the hill. “Hey Liv, here!” I waved her down and she sped down the hill and ran into my arms. Holding onto me for dear life. She hasn’t held onto me like this for gosh when. And her heart sped like crazy.
“Woah, what the hell!” Oliver said just what I was thinking.
“Come on. We’re going home.” I help Liv into the car and drove off.
Liv wouldn’t even look away from the window. She didn’t look hurt, just sad. I can see her trying to bot get lost in her head.
“Where’s Connie?” She asked, I pointed to the back seat.
“So Travis found you?” She finally looked up to me. Only to be shock at my question.
“What?!” She said softly. Her eyes were red, now that I can see her face.
“I can smell him all over you Liv. Are you okay? Did Travis do anything...”
Before I can finish she plead, “no, no, no.” I hum to her, thinking why she was so upset for then.
“So what happen?” She ignore me. “If he hurt you in anyway to make you this upset. I’ll take care of it Liv!”
She just look at me all sad, but still said nothing. “Look, you can tell me now what happen or I can park up on the side and wait until you tell me.”
“Just tell him, I’m hungry girl.” Connie mumbles from the back seat.
“Mason, It’s fine. Let’s just get some food.”
I flash my lights to pull over and her next words stopped me. “Travis is my mate!” Connie yelled a hooray and hiccup.
I stared at Liv who help me from crashing into a car beside me. “Mason watch the road!” I was completely taken off guard by her words. Even Oliver’s jaw dropped.
“No, hard turns! I will throw up in here.” I ignore Connie and focus on just Liv and the road.
“Are you for real?” I asked Liv. She nods a yes. And my first thought was they had s*x in the wood and someone said something to have both of them acting this way. Or she’s lying and don’t want me to confess Travis.
“So what happen?” I asked.
She whispered, “nothing.”
“Don’t lie Liv, you can’t lie to me.” My eyes flick and Oliver reply, “or me.”
Liv let out a big sigh. “I ran into the wood to avoid his rejection, but he followed me.” She started with.
“Why you ran off?” Curious question. It wasn’t the rejection.
Then her truth hurt, I had to let Oliver took over to comfort her. I was too piss right now.
“Because we shouldn’t be together. I’m a exile witch who wouldn’t be able to give him a heir one day. He’s better off with a wolf mate who can lead a bunch of wolves with him. Not someone like me.” She looked away again and Olive grab her arm to face us.
“Liv, I know you two almost my whole life. Honesty it makes perfect sense for you two to be mates. If I knew sooner, you guys would of met a long time ago.” Oliver flashes a smile and return to my head after Liv thanks him.
“He’s right Liv. You two make perfect sense.” She huff and lean her head back.
She took a few second before talking. Revealing another truth from inside. “What sucks the worst. I beg for him to leave me alone. And when he tried to sooth me, all I wanted was for him to never stop.”
I raise an eyebrow, shock at how nice Travis was. I don’t think I consider him a gentle mate. And shock at the fact how willing Liv wanted this mate thing. I know both of them don’t care much about it.
“But then he wipe away my tears. Then he left me there alone. Right when I thought something will happen. He just left and I was alone.” I hid a laugh, knowing she meant a kiss or more.
“He just knows I’m not worth it, that’s why he left me.” This time I laugh loud.
“Mason!” She yelped. “I feel so pathetic. And he smelled it on me. This is my fault, not him.”
Inside i’m mad at them both. I’m sure they both had two different ideas on what the other assume. I chuckle and Liv scowl at me. “You and Travis are the same person. Both of course you will never let yourself be happy. You spent all your time making sure everyone else in your life is fine and loved. But when the world gives you a taste of what you NEED. You both run off like you didn’t notice it. Children!” Liv growl under her breath and I chuckle at her child like. “See, childish.”
“You know what! I don’t want to talk about this anymore.” I knew Liv, she was hurt by Travis and herself.
“Come on Liv. I’ll take you to the pack house and you two can work on things.” I suggested.
“No Mason.” I frown at her, she was going to be stubborn about this.
“Why not?” I asked softly.
Sighing loud. “Look tonight has been a lot. And with Travis.” She sob. f**k, I made her sad. “I just need time Mason. Plus I got Mery to think of and school.” She had a lot on her plate. Her sister came back in her life. And a wolf, Alpha mate wasn’t making it easy on her.
“So please, I don’t want to talk about this anymore. Maybe never.” She went back to sobbing quietly.
“f**k! I hate to see her like this.” Oliver whispered.
“Yeah, me too.”
I agreed and drove up to a drive through window. “So what do you want?” I asked and Liv’s head turn quick with non red eyes.
“Mason I said I didn’t want to. .” I pointed to the sign and Liv chuckled at me.
“A double with large fries please.” Connie called out.
“You two are sharing the fries.” I suggested and Connie rose up quick.
“The hell I am. Here get whatever, just don’t eat my fries!” She threw her card at me. Liv and I laugh at how quick Connie was.
“Some nuggets are fine with me.” Liv said.
“Can we share?” I puppy dog eye her.
“Of course boys.” We giggle and ordered our food. At least the night ended a tiny bit happier now.

A Week Later
This week has been even more stressful then I thought. With senior year hitting hard, I had test after test. And it wasn’t even finals. “Ugh, when will this nightmare end.” I plead out loud.
“We still have a long way to go girl.” Connie whined.
“Ugh God, kill me now, please.” I lay my head on her backpack. Wishing these last few months fly by.
With school, magic, my nightmares, and the wonders to see Travis. I was losing my God damn mind. Plus, Mery just told me about my parents.
“Goddess what else can happen?” I whispered.
Weirdest part of it all, Mery said mother is hosting a party. FOR ME, yeah me! Like why the f**k would she want to do that for, to shun me more? PUBLICLY?
Mother said I can bring anyone with me. Mery suggested my parents. I thought it was a nice idea, but that only means I have to have this big talk with them first. And then she suggested I invite TRAVIS. Ugh like really, she was on Mason’s side. I couldn’t even face him, how can I spent a whole party side by side? It was just too much.
“Connie!” Both Connie and I looked up to see her douche bag ex. “Connie!” Great here it goes!
“What do you want?!” Connie asked with her arms crossed.
“What’s this I hear about you dancing with some guy last week! What the f**k’s wrong with you babe?” He shouted, making a scene.
“We broke up, it’s none of your egos business!” Hell yeah girl, you tell him. “And don’t call me babe. Over use with your limp dick.”
Everyone gasp at her remark. “That still doesn’t give you the right to flaunt your ass to any d**k head.” He got close and I step closer. No way in hell i’m letting him play with her mind. She had enough with his s**t.
“You really want to know what’s she was doing?” I block Connie, knowing how she is with this jerk. He flares his nose at me. “I’ll show you.” I turn my back quick on him and kiss Connie. With no hesitation she gave in with me to make it seem real. You can hear everyone around us making different, loud nosies.
We both gasp for air and Connie wrap her arms around my neck. “I don’t need you. So go mess with another witch. Because this one, she’s taken.” She taunt him by winking at me. I blow her a kiss and yes, he got so pissed off.
“You two bitches..” He got closer and Mason had to let Oliver step in and stop him.
“Don’t even try.” He look over Mason and whisper some asshole comment. Then storm off.
“Aahh oh my God. Did you see that? He was so pissed.” Connie yelped.
“I know I was there.” We all made our way to our last class. Enjoying what moment we just had.
Walking out of school we continue to talk about the jerk scene and how funny it was to watch him run off. “Girl it was all you, thank you Liv I love you.” Connie hugs me and kisses my cheek.
“I did it because I love you too.” I giggle.
“Yeah, the whole school loved it too.” Mason said. Connie and I both look at each other and chuckle.
“God, I can’t believe we really did that.” She said.
“Yeah I know.”
“Ohh damn, look at that!” Connie said and my eyes turn to see.
My expression drop quick as I met eye contact, his over divine scent hits me. Making my heart sink into my stomach. I couldn’t stop staring at him. He looked so good right now.
He walked over to us, looking sexy as hell. “Who the f**k was it?” He asked angrily.
“Who was what?” I didn’t know what he was talking about.
“Don’t play with me Elizabeth! Give me a name, I’ll rip his head off for kissing you!”
Ohh f**k I forgot how our mates can sense these things. s**t! Wait? Was Travis jealous? s**t he’s sexy jealous. I couldn’t help but get lost in his sexy jealousy. Until he step closer to me. And we breathe on each others scents.
“Tell me who he was?”
