“Run!” Bella yelped and grabbed Lila’s hand just as she heard the strange noises. Lila had gotten used to them during her lonely nights in the woods, but this time they were moving faster and more viciously. As the hairs on the back of her neck stood up, Lila knew she was in real danger.
The raven above took off into the air, screaming louder than the howl that echoed through the woods. Then it soared down to land on Lila’s shoulder and cawed into her ear, urging her to get moving.
