Ch. 7

Sleep comes quickly for Analee but the nightmare come shortly behind it. She is back home, panic in her eyes. She runs to her closet and hids inside. Maybe he won't find me if I'm really quiet She hold her breath as she hears his heavy footsteps. The door to her room creaks open. Hes breathing hard, Oh no he's mad, this isn't good. she remains as still and as quiet and she can. "ANALEE WHERE ARE YOU?" he calls out to her. He is definitely mad. "ANALEE!!!! DADDY NEEDS YOU!" I need to stay quiet, I don't want to help him right now. She can smell the alcohol from inside the closet. He starts walking around the room, he checks under the bed, then in the bathroom. "Analee you are making daddy very angry." You could hear it in his voice. Analee was beginning to panic. He can't find me, please just leave me alone, just one night? She kept thinking. All of a sudden the closet door flew open, Analee screamed as her hair was being pulled. "No! NO please let me go! NO! Please let me go!" He throws her onto the bed and gets on top. "I'm going to punish you for hiding!!! Then I will do what I want." he sneers and laughs evilly. "NO!!" Analee shoots up in bed screaming, "Leave me alone! NOOOOOO" her foreheard rimmed with sweat. Her door slams open and a dark figure stands in the doorway. "NO!" Analee screams "No please don't hurt me anymore. I'll behave..please leave me alone." Jace comes running over to her and wraps his arms around her. "Baby, its me, your safe. You're safe baby. I won't let him hurt you" he soothes into her ear while rubbing her back. Her sobs start to settle. And her breathing slows. She inhales and smells his scent, its a mix of pine and lime. She finally looks up at him through her puffy red eyes. "I'm sorry. I didn't mean to wake you." She says softly. "I never want to hear or see you in pain, I will always come and try to take it away. I am sorry I wasn't there to protect you back then." he says. He brushes her hair behind her ear and slowly leans in to her. She leans in as well and closes her eyes. Their lips touch softly. The bond they have is starting to get stronger and as much as Jace wants more, he pulls away. He rest his head on hers and they both sigh. "I will do whatever you want, whenever you are ready. Ok?" Analee nods her head, "Ok." she hesitates, "Will you um stay with me for a little while?" Jace smiles, and pulls her down onto his chest. She rests her head on his chest, listening to his heartbeat. She can feel herself falling for him, but knows its to good to be true. Someone like him will never truly want someone like her. That's not true Ana. she hears Treya whisper to her. Give him a chance. For you Treya, I will. Soon they both fall asleep, content in each others arms. Analee woke early the next morning and feels an arm wrapped around her waist. She looks up to see Jace, sleeping soundly. He is so handsome she thought and reaches up to place her hand on his cheek. "Do you really want me?" she asked quietly. "With every breath I breathe." a husky voice answers. She looks to see his blue eyes staring at her, a smile across his face. "I didn't mean to wake you, I'm sorry." Analee replies. "You didn't." He leans down and kisses her cheek. She smiles and quickly turns away while sitting up, hoping he doesn't see her cheek flush pink. He chuckles and sits up as well, "so what would you like to do today?" he asks her. "Can I stay with you?" she turns and pleas. He touches her cheek, "I won't leave your side if that is what you need. I have training this morning after breakfast and some pack business after. If you want, I can give you a tour later?" Ana smiles, "That sounds great. Are women allowed to train too?" he tilts his head to the side, "You want to learn to fight?" "Yes, is that a bad thing?" Jace shakes his head and chuckles, "Not at all, I think a kickass Luna is just what we need here." "Luna?" Ana questions. "Its the Mate of the Alpha." Jace tells her. Ana thinks for a moment. "Oh and since I'm your mate..... Im the Luna?" Jace nods. "What does a Luna do?" Ana asks him. "Well, she helps makes decisions for the pack, plans events, and take care of everyone in the pack like they are her children." Her eyes light up, instead of being terrified, she is excited of this possibility. Jace smiles, "Are you hungry?" he asks her. Ana nods and goes to get up. " We can go into town today and get you some clothes if you'd like?" Jace says while standing up as well. "I would like that thank you." Ana says back. He nods and goes out the door but stops, he bends down and picks something up then turns back in the room. "Looks like your mom thought of you this morning. She brought you some clothes." he comes over with a smile. Analee quickly gets dressed into a pair of dark blue leggings with a purple sports bra with a purple workout top. Analee follows Jace into his room while he gets dressed. He comes out of his closet wearing dark blue basketball shorts and a plain blue t shirt. As they walk to the stairs, Ana cautiously takes Jaces hand. He smiles and grips it tighter. As they reach the bottom of the stairs he turns to her, "I'll be right by your side. You will be ok" she nods and he kisses her temple. They walk into the dining hall and see over 30 people. There is a group of young kids laughing and having breakfast. Another table of older couples chatting away. And another group of young adults, who seem to be around Anas age, dressed in workout gear. Everyone seems to be so happy, I hope they like me. I hope I'm not a disappointment. I hope I can be a good Luna. All of these thoughts swarm Anas mind and she starts to panic. Jace grips her hand tighter and pulls her into his side. "You are amazing! They will love you." he whispers before softly kisses her head. She calms a bit but still feels out of place. "Analee" she turns when her name is called and sees her parents sitting with another couple. Jace and Analee walk over to them. Ella smiles, " Good morning sweetheart, oh goddess your hair!! It is back to what it was when you were little." Ana smiles at her as Jace pulls the chair out for her to sit. "I am so glad the clothes fit you. They are your sister's." Ella says. "I have a sister?" Ana replies, excitement in her voice. Ella smiles, "You do yes. She is 16 years old, her birthday is in a month actually. You also have a brother." Ella hesitates. Eli speaks up, "They would like to meet you. When you are ready that is." he says with a small smile. Ana smiles too, "I would like that very much."
