Ch 18

Jace and Ana end their meeting with Alpha Mark, Mike or Lori, exhausted but excited for what is next. Jace places his arm behind Ana and pulls her closer to him as they walk to their room. "Did your dad make the drink that will help you?" Jace asks as they ascend the stairs. Ana nods and places her head in his shoulder. Jace scoops her up in his arms and carries her the rest of the way. They get to their room and fall on the bed. Ana giggles and cuddles up to Jace. "What a day." Jace just hums in agreement. Wrapped in each others arms, they lay there is in the quiet. Rethinking all they have been through. Ana was kidn*pped as a child by her uncle, used as entertainment. Abused mentally and physically. But her she is, laying in her mates arms, her capture dead at the hands of her mate. However, she is now facing a curse that is meant to kill her in a few years. But at this moment, she feels nothing but peace. For the first time, she feels peace. She feels loves. She feels hope. "You know I can feel everything you are feeling love." Jace breaks the silence. Ana looks up at him, "I'm so sorry. I was just thinking of my life. Everything that has happened, all of it, led me back to you." she touches his cheek. He smiles and leans over her for a kiss. She gladly accepts and pulls him in to deepen the kiss. His hands begin to roam over her body in a gentle caress. Her hands wrap in his hair as she clings to him, part of her still afraid its all a dream. He pulls back for a moment and looks on her eyes. "This is not a dream. I am real. You are here with me, safe. I love you with every breath I breathe Analee. I will cherish you. I will protect you." She smiles and pulls him down to kiss him again. Every moment they spend together is precious. He fills her completely. Over and over again, they make love, until they are exhausted into sleep, holding each other. Waiting for what is to come.
