Several calming hands reach for me at once immediately tampering the fire, but not diminishing my rage. I knew who he was the moment he walked into the room. The scent of ash one I have never forgotten.
I should have incinerated him on the spot.

Actual ash still swirls through the air from his smoky disappearing act. I glare at the spot, wishing I could physically will him back so that I can succeed in burning his ass to the ground. Then he’ll actually be ashes.
“Maybe we should head back,” Hannah’s voice brings me from my murderous thoughts.
“I would advise against that,” a new voice rings out. My gaze is once again brought to the open doorway, where a woman casually walks through.
