Scene 1 – Zara’s Apartment, Morning
ZARA sits on her bed, eyes wide open. The sound of last night’s gunshot still echoes in her head.
ZARA (thoughts):
I didn’t sleep at all. I saw him.
My neighbor. My mentor.
The man I thought I was starting to… like.
Rayyan Malik.
He’s not just a doctor. He’s something else.
Her phone buzzes. A message appears: “Report to hospital. – Dr. Malik.”
ZARA (whispering):
No. Not today. Not after what I saw.
(beat)
But if I don’t go… he’ll know I’m scared.

Scene 2 – St. Claire Hospital
ZARA walks into the hallway, trying to act normal. RAYYAN stands near the nurses’ desk, reading a file. His expression is calm—too calm.
RAYYAN:
You’re late, Miss Ahmed.
ZARA (softly):
Sorry, I wasn’t feeling well.
RAYYAN (raising an eyebrow):
You look fine now.
He walks past her, brushing her shoulder slightly. Her heart skips.
ZARA (thoughts):
How can someone so cold make my pulse race like this?
What’s wrong with me?
She follows him into a patient room. He treats a young boy gently, his tone suddenly warm.
ZARA (thoughts):
He’s two different people in one body.
A savior and a sinner.
---
Scene 3 – Hospital Rooftop, Later
ZARA finds RAYYAN standing alone, smoking quietly, staring at the skyline.
ZARA:
Dr. Malik… can I ask you something?
RAYYAN (without turning):
You already did.
ZARA (nervous):
What happened last night outside your house?
He freezes. Slowly turns to face her.
RAYYAN:
You saw.
ZARA:
Yes. And I don’t understand. Who were those men?
RAYYAN (coldly):
You shouldn’t ask questions that could get you hurt.
ZARA (frustrated):
You can’t scare me into silence! You’re my neighbor, my senior, and I deserve to know what I’m working with!
He steps closer, his voice low but intense.
RAYYAN:
You’re working with a man who saves lives by day… and destroys monsters by night.
Satisfied?
ZARA (whispers):
So it’s true. You’re in the mafia.
He exhales, eyes softening for a moment.
RAYYAN:
It’s not what you think. I didn’t choose it.
Sometimes you’re born into a cage—and the keys are made of blood.
He throws his cigarette away, walks past her.
ZARA (thoughts):
I should walk away. I should run.
But my heart… won’t let me.
---
Scene 4 – Night, London Street
ZARA walks home from the library. A black SUV stops behind her. Two men step out, following her silently.
ZARA (thoughts):
Why do I feel like I’m being followed?
She starts walking faster. The men move closer.
MAN 1:
Hey, pretty girl. Need a ride?
ZARA:
No, thank you.
They grab her arm. She screams—then suddenly a gunshot echoes. The men freeze.
RAYYAN appears out of the shadows, gun in hand, eyes burning with fury.
RAYYAN:
Touch her again, and you’ll never touch anything else.
The men run off. Zara’s heart pounds.
ZARA (shaking):
You… you shot them?
RAYYAN:
No. I missed on purpose. But next time… I won’t.
ZARA (tears in her eyes):
Why are they after me?
RAYYAN (gritting his teeth):
Because of me. You saw something you weren’t supposed to.
Now you’re a target.
ZARA:
So what now?
RAYYAN (softly):
Now… I protect you.
---
Scene 5 – Rayyan’s Apartment, Later Night
ZARA sits on the couch, wrapped in a blanket. RAYYAN makes tea silently.
ZARA:
You live like you’re at war.
RAYYAN (without looking at her):
Because I am.
ZARA:
Then why be a doctor? Why pretend to be good?
RAYYAN (quietly):
Because it’s the only part of me that still feels human.
He hands her the cup. Their fingers brush. She feels warmth spread through her chest.
ZARA (softly):
You can’t keep living like this, Rayyan.
RAYYAN (meeting her eyes):
And what would you have me do, Zara? Walk away?
People like me don’t get clean exits.
ZARA:
Maybe not… but you can still try.
He looks at her, emotion flickering in his eyes.
RAYYAN:
You talk like you believe I deserve saving.
ZARA:
Maybe I do.
They stare at each other—silent, but everything is said. The tension is heavy.
RAYYAN (whispers):
You’re dangerous, Zara Ahmed.
ZARA (confused):
Me? Why?
RAYYAN:
Because you make me forget who I am.
---
Scene 6 – Outside View (Later Night)
The camera pans out from the apartment window. Inside, Zara sits quietly. Rayyan stands near the window, watching the street.
RAYYAN (thoughts):
I swore I’d never let anyone close again.
But this girl…
She’s already inside the part of me I’ve spent years trying to kill.
