CHAPTER 10

VAMPIRE KINGDOM The ring of fire around Akeldama turned into a wall of fire and they were heading closer to her as she stood dazed and confused with what to do. ‘If you keep standing still like that you will roast like pork Akeldama this is your training, you neither have wings and you don’t give off the typical fairy aura. What can you actually do?’ Kara asked as she quickly brought down the wall. ‘THANK YOU FOR NOT KILLING ME!’ Akeldama spelled out dramatically. ‘I could kill you if you want to because it seems like you are not ready to accept who you are.’ Kara said seriously. ‘Akeldama, Kara has a point there. At least show her what you can do, and she can help you get better. You and I both know that you are less vampire. You don’t even need blood to survive.’ Damien said blankly, earning a look of hurt from Akeldama. ‘Lights on.’ Akeldama said and the entire room got lit, exposing a huge room fit for perfect training.   ‘How did you fit this room in the castle?’ Kara asked while laughing. ‘When you have a sister who wants to hide from the world this is what a brother’s got to do.’ Damien pointed out. ‘I don’t have wings and I can’t drink blood to survive but I can control earth.’ Akeldama said, looking somewhat embarrassed with herself. ‘So, you are an element fairy. That’s not so bad.’ Kara added. ‘I never knew that because I never actually tried to learn anything about who I was. To add on I never met my mother.’ Akeldama said, creating a gloomy atmosphere. Kara looked at her, happy she at least had the change to live with her own other for those few years of her life. ‘If it brings you any comfort my mother died actually killed herself for me when I was 12 years old. She would always tell me to never practice magic because we needed to blend in with the humans. A time came when they raided us, and I had to lose her in order to survive. So, I taught myself and of course with a book she wrote about to increase my magic.’ Kara said as she thought of the distant memory. ‘That’s one rough childhood, seems like you grew up okay.’ Akeldama said politely. ‘Enough with the emotional stuff, please get on with at least one decent training so I can take Kara back to her suit.’ Damien said, showing his white fangs. ‘That’s a prison Damien and you know how much I hate it there.’ Kara said rolling her eyes. ‘Please lovers, let us pay attention to me.’ Akeldama exclaimed, earning herself two glares. One smug glare and another pissed. ‘You want attention, fine…. IGNITE!’ Kara said and watched the wall of flame rise around Akeldama. She looked lost once again but regained her mind as she felt the walls closing in on her. Akeldama stomped her right foot and the ground beneath her cracked as she levitated with part of the ground escaping the wall of flame, she leaped from the tower she created to face Kara once again. ‘I didn’t die, oh my word.’ Akeldama sung her words. ‘You really are not a vampire because you are so bright and happy, and your brother is just dark.’ Kara said. ‘You haven’t even seen my dark side, but you have already reached such a conclusion.’ Damien added. ‘Damien if you won’t help, why don’t you just leave?’ Akeldama said. ‘That won’t be necessary I actually want to go back I’m hungry and I need some sleep because Damien has been poisoning me.’ Kara said annoyed. ‘I am just supressing the use of your magic’ Damien replied innocently. ‘That’s harsh Damien, why would you do that though? Are you not marry her?’ Akeldama asked him now very curious and interested with the story behind the marry. ‘It is an alliance Akeldama.’ Kara said. ‘Yes, what she said.’ Damien added from the corner. ‘Okay, but can we train again tomorrow?’ Akeldama asked with her fingers crossed. ‘Sure, only after your brother brings down the barriers and returns my weapon.’ ‘Oh, you have a very interesting weapon. I can’t seem to unlock it.’ Damien said. ‘That’s because it knows it’s owner jackass.’ Kara said with a smirk. ‘Interesting, I will see to your requests after my trip to somewhere important tomorrow.’ ‘Damien, come on you are the one that wanted this so don’t hold me back now.’ Akeldama whined at her brother. She seemed to be his weakness. ‘Akeldama I will see, Kara let’s be on our way please.’ Kara threw Akeldama a last glance and smiled at her and followed Damien out of the room into the corridor again. ‘Why am I still being treated like a prisoner?’ Kara questioned Damien. ‘I haven’t told Drusilla about you yet and I don’t want drama in my castle.’ ‘You will have it sooner or later when you tell her that you marry another woman.’ Kara said while rolling her eyes. ‘Do you wings remain on display like this all the time?’ Damien said, changing the direction of the conversation.   ‘Yes, I tried to hide them once with magic, but it hurt. Maybe when I get stronger it might work not that I’m interested in hiding it. ‘Mine appear only when I transform.’ Damien said. ‘Into a beast?’ Kara said as she sniffled a laugh. Damien just looked at her blankly and continued walking. ‘Rebecca will attend to you when I am gone in case, I take longer than expected. Please behave.’ Damien said as they reached the front door of Kara’s room. She instantly felt locked in and weak, but she just smiled weakly and opened the door. Without a word to Damien, she shut the door in his face and dropped to the ground with a loud thud. She was out cold.
