CHAPTER FOURTEEN

Ryan's question gave me a shock because there is no how he could deduce that something happened between me and Donovan unless I told him about it. I came out of my shock quickly before he noticed my change in behaviour, I will still tell him about what had transpired between us but not just yet, I am not ready to say anything to him now.

What made you think that something happenend beween me and my boss I asked him while looking intently at him. He laughed and leaned towards me ruffling my hair, oh babe, you are so cute , you should have seen your face when I asked you that question, don't mind me I was only pulling your legs.

I breathed a sigh of relief then smiled widely at him. How about we go to the mall today? I asked hoping he would agree to my request, that is if you are less busy today. He smiled while chewing slowly as if contemplating my request, then he laughed. Common Stacey why do you think I came this morning, l wanna hang out with you today, my assistant will be taking care of the rest of the work, so let's have some fun.

That's great Ry, I had a stressful week so its a great idea I say feeling happy suddenly, at least l won't have to sit around thinking of a boss who went MIA since this week, without calls or any text to me, it was as if I don't matter to him at all. Remembering this alone puts me in a foul mood, but thankfully with Ry around me I will not have to think about any stuff that will dampen my mood today.

So why have your week been stressful, is your boss giving you a hard time? he asked giving me a concerned look, I sighed shaking my head, he is not even around, he traveled for almost a week now I say looking down at my plate.

Ryan didn't say anything and I looked up at him and he was still giving me that concern look while waiting for me to speak my mind. I sighed I don't know Ry, Donovan is such a difficult man and at times I wonder what goes through his mind.

 But babe are you not supposed to be on that trip with him? Ryan asked. I sighed, we usually go at times to some of his business trips but he usually goes alone while I do some of the work in the office. I normally book all his flights but this particular trip he left without telling me, I only found out when I called him, only for him to send me a text message that he went on a business trip.

Ryan sighed, if you don't feel comfortable you can just resign, is not like you are helpless or anything, you can even get a new job this week if you like, why are you so bent on working for him when you have other choices, babe I dont get it, just resign, common Stacey, you don't owe that douche bag anything whatsoever and you know that.

I laughed, its not like that Ry I know that I can easily get any job I want but I don't need my father's connection to help me succeed in life, I want to acquire things myself without relying on anybody for anything.

Ryan shook his head, I know that you like being independent but you don't have to take s**t from people just so you can prove a point, look I am not saying that you should ask for your father's help but you can always apply to other companies, you are smart and intelligent who wouldn't want to hire you. So think about it okay, or I will get a new job for you.

I looked with wide eyes at him, you wouldn't do that Ry I say. Watch me do it he said raising his brows at me, as if daring me to try and stop him. We held each others gaze for some seconds before I sighed averting my gaze. It hasn't gotten to that Ry and you know me well enough that I can't work in a hostile environment so chill I say laughing at how serious he was looking while munching on his food.

I stood up gathering our used dishes while Ryan helped me, after we both tidied up the kitchen I left him to go take my bath. I bathed carefully and afterwhich I dressed up wearing a pink bumb short, paired with a white off shoulder top that showed off my smooth shoulders I wore light makeup on my face applying my lip gloss making my lips shimmer and soft, I finally put on light pink sneakers. My hair is in a pony tail as usual , taking one last look in the mirror I left my bedroom while grabbing my white hand bag with my car keys. We will be taking my car to the mall being that Ryan didn't come with his car.

I met Ryan in the living room busy with his phone and when I came towards him he looked up from his phone and stared at me, I smiled waiting for him to complement me the way he usually does each time I am all dressed up.

Even though I wore a simple outfit due to the hot weather I know that I still looked very good in it. Infact, I look good in anything I wear even if I have to wear rags I know that I will still pull it off effortlessly.

Ryan was still staring at me, there was something about the way he was looking at me that I couldn't decipher but I just waved it off and continued to smile at him. Tell me Ry how do I look? I asked waiting for his response, he got out of his reverie and smiled warmly at me, babe you take my breath away he said still giving me that warm smile.

I furrowed my brows in confusion hearing him say that to me, when he saw that I was not smiling at what he said but rather was frowning he quickly rephrased what he said, I meant to say that you always look good in anything you wear even if you have to wear rags, you will still be gorgeous in them.

I laughed heartly, come on Ry why so serious, you wouldn't be a man if I don't take your breath away with my beauty, I know that we are best friends and all but you are a man first and you have blood running through your veins so I don't mind if I take your breath away I replied winking at him. He breathed a sigh of relief after he heard that, I had to say all that because I don't want to make him feel like he offended me with his words.



Let me get you your sneakers that you left here the other day I say, he chuckled I totally forgot about it , I was begining to wonder what to wear because I can't be wearing my running shoes. I laughed maybe you can just move in with me that way you won't have to bother about what to wear I said teasing him.

Nah ... he said unless you accept to marry me he added teasing me too. I laughed while I turned on my heels to go and get his shoes. A little while later I came back with his white sneakers and he was still busy with his phone.

You seam very busy Ry are you sure there is nothing important that you need to do at work, I don't wanna be selffish. You can go with me another time I don't mind, I looked at him with concern. He always try to make me happy even when he knew that he was very busy. Ryan has always been that way towards me, sometimes I wonder what good deed I have done in the past to have someone like him as my best friend. I can equally do anything within my power for him well except dating him, to me he was more like a brother than a friend and dating him will be like dating my own flesh and blood.

Babe chill okay I was only replying to an email and besides I have completed my work for this week, its been long you and I hung out together so I already mapped out today just so you and I can spend this day together so don't worry your pretty head about that okay.

I smiled, okay Ry if you say so, here catch I threw the car keys to him while he caught it and grinned at me. I will relax while you drive I say walking ahead of him.

Yes my princess, I turned as he made a bow to me, let your noble servant take care of all your needs for today. I laughed at what he did. You may rise now servant I say patting his back lightly as he was still bowing to me. He burst into laughter as we both made our way out of the house still laughing at Ryan's childish behaviour.

It took us about thirty minutes before we got to the shopping mall, it was like the biggest mall in this city and I heard that D&G company were the ones that built it a couple of years ago, I wasn't surprised because D&G Construction Company alwasy gives their clients the best when it comes to construction. We were blasting an RnB song from the car and singing along with the song on our way to the mall and when we got to our destination Ryan parked at the parking lot which was already parked full with different cars.

I sometimes hate shopping due to the crowd you will find in the mall, today was not excluded because the place was already filled up with people. Knowing how much I hated people rubbing against my body Ryan held my hand as we made our way inside the mall, we were chatting and laughing while trying to decide on which shop to go in first, we decided to go shop for my inner wears, when we got in we were greeted by the workers there, a lady made her way towards us smiling. She looked smart in her uniform, she greeted us as she stared at Ryan and seam to pay more attention to him, welcome sir and maam how may I be of help to you she said not removing her gaze from Ryan.

I turned and looked at Ryan smirking not missing his discomfort as the lady ogled him. I won't blame her though, my best friend was a hunk of a man and any woman will easily fall for him. He was kind, reliable, rich and drop dead gorgeous so whats there not to like.

Well any woman will fall for his charms except for me you know because he was like my brother, and I don't do my close friends. Well funny enough, even if we aint related by blood, there were some relationships that can be bounded together even if that person wasn't your blood relative and that's how I view Ryan.

I decided to save him from his misery, show us to the victoria secret section I say. This way please she replied smiling shyly at us I bet she noticed how uncomfortable she was making Ryan. She walked ahead of us while I had my arm hooked around Ryan's arm.

He stared at me and sighed, was I too obvious he asked, I nodded, don't be too uptight babe try and give love a chance I say, he laughed at what I said, see who is talking, you should be taking your own advice he replied. I pouted and looked at him, what happened to trying to help a friend in need I say still pouting.

Oh! you are so cute baby he said stopping to squish my cheeks making me yelp in surprise, while he laughed, he pinched my cheeks lighly while I hit his arm away gently making us both laugh.

We turned to see the lady looking at us as she waited for us to catch up, she had this look on her face as if I was stealing something from her. I realised that the smile she had on her face was long gone as she gave us a quizzical look probably trying to know if we both were a couple or not. well sorry to burst her bubbles but it will take alot of hard work for any woman to get through to my best friend's heart.

We walked up to her as she brought us to the section I wanted. She smiled while pointing out different designs to me , I knew that her smile was forced cause she kept glancing at Ryan from time to time before she finally excused herself for us to shop in peace.

I sighed, love can be so difficult at times, sometimes the person we want do not want us. Her situation and mine were quite similar, here I am crushing on Donovan but unfortunately he does not reciprocate that feelings. I sighed again while checking out a beautiful red sexy lingerie.

Its everything alright babe, you seam to have something on your mind, don't you like this design Ryan walked up to me. Everything is fine, am only trying to make a choice on what colour to buy I replied.

Okay he said, here are some that I picked out he said handing me some of the ones he selected, they were all in different shades of colours, from panties to bra and sexy lingeries.

I imagined wearing these sexy bra and panties for Donovan while he tears my dress open, oh my gush! why are my even thinking about stuffs like these, I blushed bitting my lips, I felt a hand rubbing my lips gently. Don't bite them babe, you are all red already, what is going through your mind? Ryan asked still rubbing my lips. I raised my eyes looking at him while he smirked at me as if he knew what was going through my mind.

I will take all the ones you selected, I will just check for my size I replied turning quickly away from him, I heard him laughing lightly behind me as I scurried away. If only he knew the dirty thoughts going through my mind then he wouldn't be laughing right now.

After a while I got all the things I needed from the shop and Ryan insisted on paying for them. The lady who came to meet us was no where to be found, am sure she must have given up already and concluding that me and Ryan were a couple. He really was acting like my boyfriend and I wouldn't blame her if she jumped to that conclusion.

We went out of the shop and shopped around in other differnt shops, we got Ryan some ripped jeans, ties, Rolex watch, and some few T-shirts which I insisted he bought, I bought few shorts and tops because like I said my sister was into clothes so I only bought what I feel she doesn't include in her clothes line. I also got some makeups, cosmetics and also some perfumes and deodorants for both Ryan and I.

Ryan suggested we both get some formal outfits because he would be treating me to lunch later at some fancy restaurant and we needed to look the part.

I furrowed my brows wondering where he was taking me to. Seeing my confused looks he chuckled, not too formal though but it would require you wearing a dress or pants and dress shirt whatever you prefer but make it formal he said.

I sighed, I got alot of formal clothes at home you should have told me earlier I said pouting, he laughed it escaped my mind. Babe don't worry I will pay for them he said.

I lightly hit his arm I will not allow you pay for it, I will pay for the both of us so choose what you will like, he laughed then shook his head. Alright since you are going to play the part of my sugar mummy I will just choose what I want. I was amused at what he said, Ryan can be very funny at times and that's what makes me love his company more. After getting the formal outfits we needed we went to the changing room to change.

I wore a pretty green knee length gown and wore a two inches heel ,silver stilletto ankle strap sandal. I am more of a sneakers type of person so if I am to put on heels then they must be like an inch or two inches heels.

I redid my make up and hair, I was impressed with my looks and the colour of the dress compliments my green eyes. My earings thankfully matched my dress, I had worn a silver earings before leaving the house , so I just left my neck bare, after all we were only going for lunch and nothing else so no need to get over dressed. I wondered which of the restuarants we were going to.

I placed my used clothes in a shopping bag then walked out of the changing room.

Ryan was also dressed when I came out, he was wearing a plain blue chinos trouser, a white collarless shirt with a grey blazers, he also paired it with the white sneakers he was already wearing. He looked very nice in his outfit and we both didn't hesitate to compliment each other.

We had spent hours already at the mall, sometimes we window shopped as we both pointed at something we liked, then we bought a friendship wrist band and a matching white T- shirts with the inscription of best friends forever written boldly in Red at the front of the shirt. I giggled as I pulled him out of the shop after our purchase.

I am getting hungry Ry I say pouting and just then my stomach growled making us both laugh out loud drawing attentions to ourselves.

We both ignored the looks we were getting as I noticed how people were admiring us. An old couple we passed stopped us and told us that we both looked good together and that we will have lovely kids, I wanted to correct that impression about us but I decided to just let it be. Let them think whatever they want to think after all what harm will it cause if they assumed that we were a couple. Some ladies were also eye f*****g my dear Ryan while the guys were also ogling me. The outfit I was putting on brought out all the curves of my body and my long legs was in display. Let them drool all they want I laughed in my mind.

I know a nice place were we can eat something really nice, Ryan said as we walked out of the mall leaving behind the admiring gazes and envious eyes of people that we were receiving inside the mall.

My arms were hooked to Ryans arms as we went to the parking lot, Ryan placed all the items we bought at the back seat before we got into the car and he drove off.



So which of the restuarants are we heading to? I asked making myself very comfortable on my seat, well it won't be a surprise if I told you right? Ryan replied smiling at me.

Hmm.... let me take a guess. I placed my pointer finger on my chin pretending to be deep in thought. We are going to the Nuova Era restuarant, this made Ryan chuckle, common babe you know that making a reservation there takes weeks, so its excluded, but I can make something work out if you actually wanna eat at the Nuova Era , I can pull some strings and it would take just two days, so what do you think.

Nope I don't feel like eating Italian this week, how about next week, we could visit there, its been a long time since I ate at that Restuarant I say.

Uh huh.... not to worry we will go there next week alright, he said turning to look at me with a smile grazing his lips. I nodded like a child then we smiled at each other. So let me take another guess I say. Okay, you have just this last chance to take a guess he responded.

Is it the 'Aurora.? I whispered, Ryan quickly turned to look at me with wide eyes. IS it? I squealed seeing his reaction. He nodded, tell me how did you guesss it correctly? he asked looking suspiciously at me.

I laughed, remember how I used to tell you that I wanted to eat there and we kept posting it, so I just figured that maybe that is where we are headed to and as it is I am absolutely correct I say.

Hmm ... awesome Ryan replied, he had an amused look on his face as he kept driving while heading to the Aurora Restuarant which was the second best Restuarant in this city, the Nuova Era Ristorante being the first best in the city.

It took us about thirty- five minutes to get there and we stopped infront of the restuarant. When we got down a valet made his way towards us as Ryan handed over the car keys so that he can repark it.

My lady, Ryan said taking a little bow while holding out his hand to me, I smiled as I held his outstretched hand giggling and then we went towards the entrance which already gives off a welcoming warm vibe . An entrance guard held the door open for us.



And just like its name implies the Aurora interior was a sight to behold, the Aurora has an elegant ambiance with a carefully designed decor, soft lightings and luxurious furnishings. Their food is typically of high quality, prepared with precision and with the use of the freshest ingredients available. And their wine were to die for they have a variety of rare and expensive wines to compliment their cuisine. In a nutshell this Restuarant provides a luxurious and unforgetable experience in order to maintain a high level of quality and sophistication.

No doubt their menu features exotic ingredients, creative flavour combinations, and exquisite presentation.Ryan must have booked ahead because as we entered a patron who was dressed in a formal attire approached us and Ryan gave them the name he had used to make reservations and then we were ushered to our table for two.

This place keeps getting better I say as Ryan like the gentle man he is drew out my seat for me to sit down, after which he proceeded to take his own sit.

You are right babe its been a month since I visited here he said smiling, and I really love their food its quite excellent though expensive but its worth it you know, I agreed as I have also eaten here several times with my mum but this was the first time I came here with Ryan.

A waiter approached us, she greeted us smiling. Hello my name is Linda and I am your waiter for this afternoon. Hi Linda for a starter we will like a bottle of your finest champagne Ryan said smiling at her, very well sir she replied before walking off and returning a few minutes later with our wine in an ice bucket. We thanked her and asked to be given a few moments to make our order she smiled then left us.

Me and Ryan were making random conversations as we teased each other and also laughing to some of Ryans jokes. With Ryan I can forget anything that bothers me because he made me happy and we got each others backs. We finally placed our order and we were both enjoying our meal when there was a little commotion to the Restuarant's entrance, our seat was not far from the entrance and I could see when someone gets inside.

It looks like someone very important was about to enter because the man guarding the door was trying to fend off some groups of paparazzis that were taking pictures of the couples that just walked inside the restaurant. The lady was holding unto the arms of the most handsome man I have ever seen, the only man that have ever made my heart flutter and made my belly fill up with butterflies. The man I have a crush on and not ashamed to tell myself the truth. He had invaded my dreams and have been evasive since this week.

Ryan's back was turned towards the entrance while my seat faced the entrance so I can see who comes in, but Ryan will have to turn around in order for him to see the entrance.

As I watched the couple enter with all the commotion that they carried with them, my breath hitched and I felt pain stab my heart like I have never experienced before in my life. I felt my eyes watered. I have been so worried about him since this week and wondering why he hasn't called and here he was with a woman in his arms as if nothing else mattered to them.

I remembered the passionate moment we had together that meant alot to me, because I was ready to give everything to him without withholding anything from him but due to his health I had to restrain myself from giving myself completely to him. If I had done so it would have been more painful for me right now. I thought he said that he traveled then what the f**k was he doing here with a woman and when did he even return from his trip. I glared towards their direction and if eyes could kill I could have smolder him to death with the death glare that I was giving him right now. f*****g asshole I cursed him in my mind. He has succesfully ruined my appetite.

I watched him slide the chair backward for the lady to sit on while he went to sit on the other sit facing my direction. Just great I said within myself, and now I have to keep looking at his f*****g handsome face.

He must have felt someone watching him because he suddenly raised his head and our eyes met, I was expecting to see a reaction on his face but the man must be made of marble because he had his usual expressionless face giving nothing away as I glared at him, then I saw his gaze move slightly to Ryan's back and that was when I saw him glare at Ryan, what the f**k was his problem glaring at Ryan like that as if he was not here with another woman.

Ryan must have noticed that I was not responding to him anymore and he looked up, babe are you okay? why are you not eating anymore, would you like something else to eat? he asked.

I am fine Ry, I have just lost my appetite I say not removing my gaze from Donovan who was now also glaring at me while the woman he was with was trying to get his attention. She was saying something to him and he was answering her without removing his gaze from me.

Okay we are now having a staring contest between us, bring it on asshole. Who are you looking at? Ryan asked before he turned around to see who had taken my attention, I heard him gasp when he saw who I was staring at then he turned around and faced me. Is that not your boss babe? what the f**k is he doing here? Ryan asked.

Isnt it f*****g obvious I replied with irritation, making Ryan look at me with concern. Are you okay babe? and why the f**k is your boss glaring at us his voice was beginning to sound very suspicious.

How are my supposed to know what crawled up his arse and died there, I say still watching Donovan with his b***h, he had temporary looked away to speak whatever to the lady he was with but me on the other hand was still watching them, with my food long forgotten, I felt so angry and I don't even know why I am even angry right now, was it because I saw Donovan with another woman or because he had refused to call me all week and then suddenly showed up here with another woman in his arms.

Ryan sighed making me look at him. Why are you two glaring at each other? is there something that you are not telling me? I chuckled bitterly, lets get the f**k out of here, I don't wanna be here anymore .

But why Stacey he asked with irritaion, don't tell me it's because of your boss that you wanna ruin this moment for us.

No Ryan he can go f**k himself for all I care I only wanna leave right now I say sounding angry.

Then why are you angry and why does he keep looking towards our direction?

I leaned towards Ryan , you know what, if you ain't leaving then I am getting the f**k out of here with or without you, I replied making Ryan's eyes grow wide with shock, I saw his face turn red with anger and it was my fault.
