Step 3: Add scenes, supporting characters, logic.  General Idea:  Six students are the prime suspects for the murder of one of the most powerful Lecturers at their high ranking university. i.e. Professor Mouri. Each has a motive. No one wants to spill their alibi and at the crime scene, there is evidence that could brand any of them as the killer/s.   Scene 1: Main character Akane is first introduced as an accounting major who is trying to adapt to life with her new, uptight, step-sister, Violet.  She rants about her experienced with her to her best friend Cyan who tries to let her see the positives to this situation.  It's almost 10pm on a school night and they are heading back to the university's AV room which they booked to work on a presentation together along with four other students.  They arrive and try to enter only to realise the door is locked.  Akane is about to go get the keys when the other members of the group arrive one by one,  first Liam, then Amy and Kiian. When she returns with the keys she sees Violet is there as well.  They exchange some banter before Akane unlocks the door.  To her horror a dead body was laid on the table with blood stained shirt and right behind it on the wall were some words written in what seemed like blood.   Scene 2:  Akane rushes in and checks the pulse of the body - she notices that it is in fact the dead body of Professor Mouri, the smartest, and most powerful lecturer in the prestigious university.  She backs up and demands that someone call the police and the other calls the security guard. Theye finally settle on three of them setting out to find the guard while the other three wait and secure the crime scene.  And so they do. Scene 3: Akane reaches the guard booth but instead of the security, she finds a rotting corpse.  Akane throws up and the other two help her up.  They rush back to the crime scene only to find the security already there.    Scene 4:  Finally the police arrive and the detective who takes the case is Detective Iris.   She takes all the six of them to the station for questioning.  However, and hour into the process she gets word from forensics that the potential killer was one of the six first discoverers.   She attempts to question each student but none wants to rat.  Scene 5: Three hours pass and Detective Iris tells them that someone should confess to the murder, yet no one wants to give their alibi.  Akane finally gives in and says that she was with Cyan - Liam and Kiian claim to be together and Amy had video evidence of her location while Violet says she was alone in the room up until the time of the murder.  And so Detective Iris had to let them go due to the lack of evidence, since each of them had a reason to be in the room because of the presentation.   Scene 6:  However, the next day they all had to attend a mandatory counselling session.  In the counselling room, all six students sit around a table with a counsellor.  The older woman notices each is a different emotional state right now.  She tells them that whoever did it should come clean and admit to it because carrying the guilt around will only hurt them.  They remain unresponsive. Until finally Cyan cracks and begins to cry.  He blames Kiian who then yells at Liam. Liam gets up and tries to leave only to have Amy tell him to sit back down. There is a mess of mumbles and sobs before Akane looks at Violet and speaks up, everyone is silent.  Akane then reveals that each person was connected to Prof Mouri and had a reason to kill him. The room gets even tenser. Akane leans back in her seat and looks around,  "looks like we have a killer among us."  The counsellor snaps her pen.  Extra: The story continues where each chapter is dedicated to one of the suspects and tells what each was doing before the murder.  Flashback will be included to show the past but the story will be centred around this one incident.
