Beauty and the Beast

Hawk's POV
The morning of the party, We went to breakfast. Then we went out to the stream to practice. After that we, came back and the girls, invaded the room. I grabbed my suit, and left to get dress else where.
"Hawk," I heard Mato say. I glanced around to find him walking down the hall, from his office. "I am guessing the girls kicked you out?" He said with a smirk.
"They did," I smiled. "I was gonna find a spot to get dressed." I shrugged.
"You can use my room, once I am dressed." He patted my back. "I should think the girls will be there for the next few hours." He glanced up.
"I thought maybe." Looking around, "when do they start arriving?"
"They should start coming in about three hours. We will have two Alphas of neighboring wolf packs, and another mixed pack like ours from the opposite side of us. They are bring all unmated males and females as is the two Alpha wolves. The Alpha of the mixed pack is were bear but a few generations down the line from my brothers and I." We walked down the hall to his office. I settled in the chair and Mato poured us a couple brandy's. "What have you and Amber been working on in the forest?" Mato asked handing my the glass of brandy.
"She wanted to learn to fight," I sipped the brown liquid. "She just didn't want to learn with others watching" I shrugged.
"How is she doing with that and you." Mato looked over his glass as he asked that question.
"We are getting along." I leaned back. "We accidently kissed a few days back." I chuckled remembering how it played out.
"Do you think she feels the mate bond?" Mato still watching me over the rim of the glass.
"I think we both are." I shrugged. "I told her who I was." I paused to sip my drink and seen him place his drink on the desk and lean forward.
"And how did she react?" He seemed interested in this.
"She recited exactly what she remembered about reading from the history books. Then told me that she didn't care." I sipped the drink again.
"Yes, I suspect she does feel it." Mato picked up his drink again and leaned back.
We sat in comfortable silence, as the time floated by. Mato got up and went to his room to change. I sat in the office until he came out to offer his room. Mato headed out front with Momma Dee to greet the guests. I got my suit on, they had sent matching ties of the dresses they bought with my suit. I found the teal green tie, and then wrapped my hair into a low hanging pony tail. Stepping out of the room, I walked down the hall to see that, people were being ushered around the house to the back yard. I walked up the stairs and leaned against the wall.
Massive amounts of giggling was coming from the room we stayed in. I smiled to myself, hoping that Amber was enjoying her girl time. The door popped open, Cherie, Anna and the new girl Rea stepped out. Cherie giggled and poked her head back in the room to say I was outside. Then closed the door, watched as they smiled their way down stairs in their dresses.
I swallowed, pausing to open the door. "Ma Cháñte, are you ok if I come in?"
"Yes," came her soft reply.
Walking in, I seen her sitting on the bed. Her hair was braided and styled with ringlets and the rest spilled into wild curls. The dress accented the color of her hair and highlighted her eyes. My breath caught. "You look beautiful." I couldn't take my eyes off her.
"Thank you," She looked down at her lap.
I placed bag and my clothes on my bed. Going back to her I knelt down using my finger to tilt her head up with. "What's wrong?" I seen sadness in her eyes.
"People will see my scars." There was a tear that escaped her eye. I used my thumb to wipe it away.
"It will show off how much of a badass you are Ma Cháñte." I kissed her forehead. "You are beautiful to me." I kissed her left cheek, "adorable," I kissed her right cheek "brave," and kissed her chin "and so very strong." My lips lingered just above hers. "Can I kiss you?" I cooed to her. My body aching to press my lips to hers.
I watched her slowly nod, and close her eyes. I brushed a feather light kiss to her lips. Both of us felt the jolt, leaning in again, my hands cupping her jaw line as we pressed our lips together. Shock wave after shock wave assaulted my body our kiss became more demanding. We broke apart breathing heavy. I stood, pulling her with me, "you are dazzling," stepping closer so that my mouth was near her ear. "The best part is you were made for me."
I seen her look at me, there was surprise, with another emotion. "Let's go." She smiled. I grabbed her hand and lead her down the stairs. Walking through the quiet house to the back door, I looked down at her. I could feel her tense muscles. Lifting her hand to my lips, I kissed it and then wrapped her arm around mine.
Stepping through the doorway out into the the lighted yard, you could see tables, flowers, soft music and lanterns hanging on places. They had done a great job of creating this out of nothing. I felt her other hand wrap around my arm as we descended the stairs. I looked to see the Fab 4 each at a corner watching. Mato was entertaining three rather large males. Momma Dee was chatting away with three ladies and Amber's friends were giggling away in the corner looking at a group of guys in the distance.
"You ready to do this Ma Cháñte?" I glanced down at her.
Amber nodded vigorously as she said softly, "Just don't leave me alone." I could see a hint of worry cross her eyes then it was gone.
"I would never," I winked at her. She giggled and looked ahead. We walked down into the party.
