Spirit of the wolves
Jenny pushed open the swing doors of the rusty old bar she owned with the confidence of an alpha wolf that she was. All eyes staring at her until they realise that averting their eyes to this goddess is much better than getting their heads ripped off. Jenny grinned, her teeth clearly visible in the dim light. Striding across the floor to the office behind the counter then shutting the door with a loud bang behind her. How could she be so stupid? Jenny mumbled to herself through gritted teeth. Her frustration clearly getting her under for the first time in her short life.
Jenny is everything but a common twenty four year old collage student. She inherited the bar from her grandparents after they got killed by the Vamps five years ago. She has been tracking them ever since but could never get close enough because she lacked in training and they could sense a wolf from miles away. So she decided to befriend the daughter of the elite vamp to get her closer to her grandparents killers. But boy how wrong she was. Getting closer to the vamps only got her in a heap of s**t with her father, the alpha of her pack, and has her grounded for the next six months. Only allowed to go to collage with two protectors and then to the bar where she can only be alone in her office and bathroom and she has to go through training with the other alpha bloods. Urrrg! She grunted again for the tenth time that day. Well I guess that’s what you get for trying to do the one thing you have been forbidden to do; a familiar voice came from behind her bathroom door with a chuckle. Then the door opened and the vision of her mate sent shivers down her spine. Damon! She exclaimed. Wha-what are you doing here?! Aren’t you supposed to be in Manhattan on the chase for that…. Ugh ummmm, Damon cleared his throat while closing the gap between them then scooping her into his arms and landing a hard yet passionate kiss on her lips. Jenny melted into his kiss for a while then pushed him away slightly so she could speak again, but Damon just put his finger to her lips and hushed her again. Confused and with a shrug of her shoulders she looked at him, waiting for an answer. Not here, he said quietly. Let’s go have dinner at Crazy’s then I will tell you all about it. She smiled then nodded and grabbed her purse and jacket from the stool next to the door. Damon stood staring at her, the perfect sway of her hip made his groin jump, her eyes, dark green with yellow flames licking at her pupils and her wavy black hair tumbling down her back, just reaching her sexy round bottom… Damon shook himself out of his thoughts and with a smile and a hand on her back they left the bar.
Crazy’s were almost empty when they entered so they found an open table at the window private enough then seated while the waitress scurried for menu’s. Damon dropped a kiss on Jenny’s forehead before seating himself opposite her. The waitress brought over the menus and they ordered some coffee with a promise of ordering food in twenty minutes. So the waitress hurried off to get the coffees.
Jenny, Damon said in a more serious tone than he wanted to, I need to tell you about my trip but first there is something else we need to discuss. Jenny frowned but kept her composure and listened to her mate. Jenny, this thing you have with the death of your grandparents has to stop, you have to let it go, not only for your sake but for the sake of the pack and everyone else you know and love. This has gone on too long and I should’ve said something sooner but I guess I just hoped that you will let it go eventually on your own. Endangering yourself and the pack is unacceptable and I won’t lose you... I can’t lose you. I love you too much.
Jenny’s eyes went blank, her rage on edge and with a low growl in her throat she looked at him. What do you know Damon? I have been looking for my grandparent’s killer for the past five years and now that I get this close you want to stop me?! Has my father put you up to this? Talking me out of fighting for what’s right in order to keep the peace between wolf and vamp? What the hell is wrong with you f*****g alphas?! Do you seriously think I’m just going to back down because a bunch of wimpy alphas has no balls to fight for their pack? Well you have another thing coming! With that Jenny jumped up and ripped Damon's head off before he could get in another word or fight back. The waitress dropped the tray with their coffee with a yell then ran off to the kitchen. Jenny ran from the diner and into the woods, shifting to wolf form as she ran then letting the wolf take over the run.
Two days later Jenny woke up, naked and cold, her face and body covered in blood. Already hardened and clotting in her hair. She needs to get clean, but first… She needs to figure out where she is. She slowly turned around looking for any familiarity but she couldn’t find anything. Panic started rising in her throat as she started getting flash backs of two nights before. What have she done? Damon? I killed Damon? Fear gripped her and she fell to her knees, then shock and the pain of his words entered her head everything playing through her mind like a movie. The waitress! The waitress saw everything and most probably got the cops and her pack hunting her down right now. Jenny knew that if the cops find her, death penalty would be her future, and if her pack finds her she would be killed in front of the whole pack in the most gruesome way thinkable. They would burn her alive for sure. Jenny knew running would be the only option but first she needs to get clean and some clothes would be good for starters. Jenny sniffed the air and looked at her surroundings again. She smells food so there has to be a cabin close by. She started walking in the direction of the smell then froze as a branch snapped to her left, Jenny swung around sniffing the air again end listening for any more sounds, watching the woods carefully, ready to jump out of reach of who ever was watching her. Jenny?! Jenny! Came another familiar voice. It’s her vamp friend Mage. Jenny sighed a sigh of relieve before answering. Mage! You scared me for a moment there, why are you sneaking up on me like that? Mage, the perfect blonde bombshell with ice blue eyes came into the clearing towards Jenny, smiling as if nothing is wrong about Jenny being naked and full of blood. Jenny dear, you gave me a fright standing like this so close to my home. We should get you cleaned up and covered before anyone sees you like this. Mage said gesturing to Jenny’s body. Jenny nodded but then said, is it you who is actually cooking in the cabin nearby? Mage frowned then nodded. So Jenny took off running towards the cabin and Mage followed. Then Mage shot past Jenny and stopped right in front of her. Jenny almost ran into Mage but Mage just giggled then took Jenny’s hand. Come let’s walk together. Mage said with a smile.
As Jenny and Mage reached the porch Jenny could hear laughter coming from inside the cabin, she looked at Mage but Mage just shrugged and opened the front door. Come in Jenny, she said loud enough for wolves and vampires alike to hear. Jenny stepped inside and stared at the interior. It looked like a vintage hotel, chandeliers and all. Much nicer than the outside of the cabin. Who would’ve guessed? They were greeted by seven other vampires and two humans. Jenny raised an eyebrow but kept her thoughts to herself. Mage touched her arm and Jenny let out a small yelp. Jenny quickly recovered from her thoughts and apologised for acting weird. No apologies needed, a tall, dark haired handsome man said. My name is Slogan. He reached out and she took his hand, Jenny, she said with a nod feeling awkward. Jenny soon realised she was still shaking Slogans hand and he was staring at her with his brows frowning but a huge smile on his face. Would you like something to drink Jenny? Slogan asked. Jenny cleared her throat, just water please. Slogan slowly pulled his hand away from hers then left to the kitchen. Mage bumped Jenny slightly, quite handsome hey gal, she said with a wink. Jenny felt the heat rushing to her cheeks in a bright red blush. Mage started giggling like a teenage school girl so jenny shoved Mage over to the other side of the lounge. Sshhh Jenny scowled. That only made mage laugh harder. Jenny rolled her eyes at mage and with a squint she turned around and walked to the bedroom. Only then Jenny realised she was still butt naked and full of dried blood and mud. Gritting on her teeth she entered the bathroom adjoining the bedroom. Jenny took a steaming hot shower and wrapped the towel around her, trying to cover up as much as possible with the small towel. When Jenny stepped out of the bathroom, steam followed her and to her surprise Slogan was sitting on the big bed looking too comfortable for a guest. OH! I’m sorry, is this your room? Jenny asked, blushing again but this time Slogan grabbed hold of her waist, pulling her tight against him and running his thumb over her bottom lip. Jenny felt Lightning running up her spine and her body melted into his. He dipped his head low then softly took her lips with his, letting out a soft moan as she kissed him back. She could feel his hardness pressing against her and she longed for him to take her right then and there. But Slogan pulled away slowly then let her go. Instantly Jenny felt the cold shivers covering her then frowned at Slogan. Jenny, I… I am sorry. I am usually not so forward with my intensions but you do something to me that make me want to… Jenny? Jenny?! Jenny ran to the bathroom and shut the door. f**k! f**k f**k f**k!!! Mage opened the bathroom door to find jenny just swearing into the mirror. Jenny? Is something wrong? Jenny shook her head and said no. I just realised I came to have a shower but don’t have any clothes. Can you lend me some please? Mage laughed but turned around and went back into the room. Well? Come on then. Jenny followed Mage to two huge doors on the opposite of the room. Hey Jenny, Mage said, watch this. Mage took her elbow and pressed against the button on her belt at her hip. Jenny looked at the doors as they slide open softly then her mouth dropped open. Leathers, all colours, sizes and anything you can think of to wear. Mage gave Jenny a smile then nodded her inside. A walk in closet! Perfect! Jenny went through just about twenty seven outfits and at last deciding on one, a red corset with black trimming and stylish black pants and flat knee high boots to finish off her outfit. When Jenny came out, Mage gave a whistle that would make any wolf blush. Jenny smiled giving Mage a little bump on her shoulder. So Mage my friend, do you think… Before Jenny could finish her sentence, there came a soft knock on the door. Mage rushed over and opened the door to see Slogan standing there, paler than when she saw him earlier, Mage frowned. Slogan? What’s wrong? Slogan gave a soft grunt then fell forward into Mage’s arms. She helped him in and set him down on the bed, but her hands came away bloody, Jenny rushed over and grabbed Slogans face between her hands. Slogan, what happened? Slogan swallowed hard but only got out the word, wolves. Jenny went pale but jumped up and ran towards the door shouting at Mage. Take care of Slogan, I will be back. Before Mage could answer the door banged shut and Jenny was gone.
Two days has passed and still no word of Jenny. Mage was worried but she couldn’t leave Slogan on his own now. His wounds were healing but not fast enough being only half vampire and half of, well something else that he isn’t very open about. Still, Mage was starting to think of going to look for Jenny. Slogan stirred in his sleep, and then his eyes slowly opened. Mage went over and helped him sit up a bit then handed him a bag with blood. He gave her a faint smile then drank as if he has never tasted anything so sweet. After he was done he looked at mage, his voice filled with hope when he asked if Jenny is there. Mage shook her head slowly, but said, I am sure she will be here tonight. If not we can go looking for her once you are fully healed. Slogan got up slowly but Mage pushed him back down. No Mage, he said. If she is out there we have to find her. She could be in danger or lying somewhere hurt. Mage backed off, seeing the passion in his eyes when he spoke about Jenny. She can’t stop him. Okay, but I’m coming with you and we have to treat and bandage your wounds first. Slogan nodded then went into the bathroom.
Slogan and Mage left the house with extra clothes for Jenny and some food and water, neatly packed and wrapped up so no wolves could smell it. They started off in a walk but as time passed they had to start running faster if they wanted to be home before dark. Soon enough they found a drop of blood, then another, then a trail of blood leading towards the falls. Wolf prints all over the forest. They ran faster until they reached the end of the cliff next to the falls then looked down...
