The darkness (2)

Gu Junxiu woke up feeling tired like she had run around the whole day. It was very strange to her that she kept getting weaker and feeling tired without doing any work. She looked around in the unfamiliar not sure how she got there or what she was doing there. She tried to get up but fell back with a thud on the bed. She gave up getting up after her third try and accepted her fate. "Did I wake up in another place again?" she asked herself but received no answer. She watched the ceiling and tried to recall the last thing that happens to her before she lost consciousness. She had woken up in a strange cave and found herself chained to a kid. She saved the kid and tried to escape but was too tired and fainted. She checked around for any chains but didn't find any and the young boy she has saved was lying unconscious next to her. She took the boy into her arms and held him to protect him from all the dangers in the world. The young boy gave her a sense of belonging in this place far away from home. She felt the need to protect the boy and give him a better life than the hell he was living in. She gathered strength and tried to get up one more time. She couldn't let the boy down and despite her entire body screaming out in pain she managed to lift herself. She took the boy into her arms and carried him out of the room. She strolled in the corridors of the castle trying to find a way out. Every door looked the same and every wall was similar too. There were so many rooms in the castle that she felt confused. She couldn't tell where she had been or where she was headed to. Left was right and right was left, she laid the boy on the ground and sat down next to him. She was tired and out of breath and her eyes were heavy with sleep. "What is happening to me?" she asked losing consciousness again. The minute she fell asleep the young boy opened his eyes and looked at her. He got up from the floor. "If you were not important to me, I would have killed you for daring to put me on this dirty floor. Why do you keep interrupting my sleep?" he asked and picked her up with his hand and lifted her off the floor. Despite Gu Junxiu being a bit older than him and heavier he carried her like she was weightless. He took her back to the room and laid her down on the bed before climbing up himself. He closed his eyes and drifted off to slumber. ***** I opened my eyes from my sleep, it took me a minute to get my eyes to adjust to the light in the room. The soreness and exhaustion in my body seemed to have gotten worse from before. I recognize the room I was in like the one I woke up in before. To my side laid the boy that I tried to save. "Someone must be here, that person must have brought the two of us back into this room," I concluded. I remained to lie down because I don't have the energy to get up. "Ting ting," I called out in my mind but no one answered. I checked the ring on my finger and it was gone just like my sword. "Ting ting warned me about some evil presence back in the immoral soul realm. Could it have kidnapped me?" I hug the boy to comfort not just myself but him too. He must be very scared of being away from his family. I don't understand how someone can be so hurt less as to do this to a child. I brush his hair and kiss his forehead, his eyes open and look at me. "What are you doing?" I heard him ask with a cute voice and I snapped out of my trance. I looked down at him and our eyes met, he had beautiful ice blue colored eyes that gave me a feeling of peace and serenity. His cute round face and chubby cheeks made him more adorable. "Nothing," I replied. "Do you happen to have any idea where we are or how we ended up here," I asked him hoping that he has even a simple of what is going on? "I think that we are trapped in the soul realm," he said and I frown in confusion. I hate not knowing things about this world and Ting ting who I could have asked has also gone missing. "What is that?" I asked him nervously hoping he doesn't laugh at my lack of information. "We are stuck between the human realm and the spirit realm. As you have already noticed we are not in our bodies, as our souls have separated from them. That is the reason we are so tired because our soul needs a body to support us and the longer we are from our bodies the more energy we lose," he said and my mind exploded. 'Did he just say our souls have been separated from our bodies?' "Don't worry, I will find a way to save us. I will bring you back to your family and until then I will guide and protect you. I promise," I said to comfort him and just then a bright green mist circled us on the bed. It went from our toes to our heads and then disappeared. "What was that?" "That was the bounding mist. When you made a promise with only your soul then you bounded the promise to your soul. And until you fulfill this promise the two of us are bound to each other. It is the pair of a tie bond, bear in mind that you have only a month to fulfill this promise, or else we will be tied to each other forever," he warned and I swallowed hard. What is with this world, even a small promise is made into a big deal. "It can't be that bad if we are tied to each other," I say trying to cheer him up. "It is when I can feel everything you feel and hear all your thoughts too. Let's not mention that if anything happens to either of us the other one will feel it too. So technically we share everything from feelings to thoughts." "That doesn't sound too good." "Yeah, and the fact that I will have to like what you like and hate everything you hate is not something I am up for. Now if you will excuse me I need rest," he said and fell asleep again.
