Love or Hate

The rest of the day was spent with Gu Junxiu cultivating the Qi in the air to grow stronger. She steadied her breath and meditated. She concentrated and guided the Qi into her lower abdomen as she absorbed them. She was able to see them accumulate in her.

Her joy and happiness could not be measured as she was soon going to be strong enough to save herself and Zhu Xi from the person who took them. Then she would have fulfilled her promise. But her happiness was short-lived when her body started reacting to the Qi she was absorbing.

Her skin and body felt like she was on fire. Everything in her was burning, she let out a scream as the pain was slowly becoming unbearable. Her skin began to burn and it was excruciating for her to bear.

Zhu Xi came down and saw her in that condition and smiled. "It seems that I would not have to wait long. The thing which I thought would take years to achieve only took a few days."

He walked up to Junxiu and when he came into her site he feigned worry and sadness, his eyes were also wet as crocodile tears ran down his cheek. He kneeled in front of her and cried. "What have you done Junxiu. Don't you know that one can't cultivate light and dark Qi at the same time? Especially someone at your level," he said but in his heart, he rejoiced the fact she had successfully cultivated the dark Qi far surpassing the light Qi in her system.

He snapped his fingers and she fell unconscious. He carried her with the bracelet to the room and while Gu Junxiu was asleep he took his time to transfer his Qi into her. He made the dark qi in her so powerful that the light qi was forced to leave her system through the pores of her skin.

He had a sinister smile on his face when he saw the light qi oozing out of her. He disintegrated into thin air and turned into nothing but darkness. The darkness lifted her into the air and engulfed her into complete darkness.

For the rest of the night, she slept in the darkness and her body absorbed all the dark qi easily. Her wounds healed with all the qi that she was accumulating. The minute the sun came out the darkness formed back into Zhu Xi and he lay down on the bed and slept off.

Gu Junxiu woke up from her sleep feeling much better and even stronger. She smiled at the sight of Zhu Xi and leaned to kiss him on his cheeks. But Zhu Xi turned his head and instead of his cheek, the kiss landed on his lips. Gu Junxiu moved back and felt ashamed of her actions and under the intense stare of the boy she felt like a criminal. She got up quickly and rushed to the washroom to take a bath.

Zhu Xi smiled. "The kiss was short today and you even ran away from me but tomorrow I will not permit you to stay," he said and got up and well. With a snap of his finger, he changed his attire and wore a green robe. His long black hair was left freely at his back and he walked out of the room. He got the form of a grown man as he walked out of the castle.

He opened the array around the house and put it back once he was outside in the desert. He made it invincible before he lifted off to the sky. His eyes were pure black with nothing but darkness inside. He flew away with a straight face that made it difficult for anyone to read his thoughts or emotion. His mark automatically formed on his face as he flew away.

The man who had hidden Gu Junxiu's body soon appeared right next to him in a black robe. He too wore a mask and didn't speak, they flew together in silence each aware of the presence of the other. They arrived at a barren land that was deserted by any life form of any kind.

They both landed on their feet and stepped into the land rumored to be cursed. The man beside the darkness drew some runes in the sky that lifted the array that made the land look barren. A beautiful city soon appeared in their view as they continued to walk forward. The people of the city of sins bowed their heads as the two of them made their way further into the city. They didn't pay attention to the bowing subjects or those who joined in their path and continued forward.

They soon arrived at the gates of old ruins. They knocked at the gate and the gate was opened, a portal appeared and both of them and their escorts followed them into the portal.

"All hail the demon king," yelled the guard at the gate.

"All hail," voices from all around the kingdom shouted in unison.

"All hail the return of the darkness," he yelled again and got the same reply.

The darkness and his escort didn't stop at the gate or hear the chants by the people and proceeded on their path. They had entered the demon realm through the gates and were now in his kingdom. He could not be happier to be home after being imprisoned by the Lord for five hundred years. He was finally free and at home and now it was time for him to get revenge from the one who destroyed him once.

The Lord had in his possession something very important to him and he had to get it back at all cost. He thought of the best way to fight the one person he couldn't kill in this life and felt a headache coming on. But he had to teach him a lesson regardless of whether he could kill him or not.

He entered his palace and sat on his throne. His mind thought about Gu Junxiu and the feeling of love that he could feel in her heart for the Lord. " Love or hate, we will see which emotion wins this war."
